As I've shared, I send my cards to people I know and even strangers... and have done so for a long time. 10 years, easy.
I had someone question the "time & money making paintings and sending them" to people who do not appear to appreciate them. I was surprised that she would even give my cards any thought, the remark seemd a little nasty but she's 'not in a good place' - so I chose to let it slide. A bad break up has her in a hateful mood to all.
At first this remark caught me off guard, it was nasty & meant to be from someone who is hurting - I get it... but I thought - YES- I do spend time & a bit of money (not that is anyones business) making and mailing cards to people ( I also mail out paintings as some of you might be well aware ;) - she could not understand 'why?'
and went so far as to state it makes me appear 'desperate' .. wow.
WHY?
Desperate.. well o.k. then.. If that is being "desperate"
I am desperate to make other humans smile occasionally I guess, yes.
WHO has the problem?
I make cards for people because I try to make them happy, lighten the load, make the day a little more enjoyable, give a smile, say hello, let people know they are thought about, cared about.. I love to paint & I know most people do not get HOMEmade cards. Little originals - yes, painted with TLC & THC. It makes me feel GOOD- so sure- it makes me SMILE to do this- yes, I am selfish.
Trust me, IF I even suspected someone would receive my cards with hate ? I would never send them in the first place. I don't put negative painting into anything for anyone. Painting is MY PLEASURE- MY PEACE.
I painted a IG friend' with a Dane a card - it took me minutes- i thought - he would like this! His dog was just very ill. I just sent it, I did not tell him- I already had his address from a postcard draw. He was thrilled and thanked me to the point I blushed. I don't know him - he has a lovely wife, dogs and little baby - I'm not going to have dinner with him, I'll never speak to this person- but hey - why not. I'm glad I did.
F*CK that... 'Desperate', I'll be.

Most people are caught off guard and enjoy my cards. I know pain makes people do & say things they don't necessarily mean to do, to those they do it to. I KNOW I've done it too.
So- critize me if it makes you feel better - for trying to spread some joy & love!?? LOL!!?
