Just a happy little Blue Bird singing her heart out.
I wake to the birds every morning it starts before the light.. it's so sweet to hear first thing in the morning, much gentler than any man mad alarm clock.
This is Bird Migration week! Officially - welcome back birdies!
Birds are declining in numbers all over the planet.
We have 9 trees we planted in our backyard more than I see in any other - I have feeders up year around - I won't divulge what we spend in bird food alone... it's important to feed the birds especially when theres still snow on the ground and they have it scarce- right now a big problem with baby birds is they can't fly & CATS understand this. I saw a black cat the other day eating a bird on my front lawn - I see this cat all the time- this weekend the trap goes out & the cat when caught will go to the humane society and the owners can pay to get it out - I HOPE that's how it works. I will keep dong this until the next few weeks, until I think the babies in my back yard have a chance.
I have a cat, it is trained to stay in- it goes out the dog door onto the back deck with usand that's it- she's back in when we come in- she thinks she's a dog. She lives with BIRD who flies free in this house. YOU CAN train cats OR at least KEEP them IN. Irresponsible pet owners confuse me, don't you care about that cat?
Can't YOU at LEAST put a BELL on it? A collar with it's address?
I care about ours, I'd miss her if she was hit by a car.
Celebrate the birds! Teach your kids about birds.. I've seen so far bluejays, woodpeckers, grosbeaks, sparrows, grackles, seagulls, crows, ravens, nuthatches - it's BirdFest in the backyard... time to enjoy it with a sketch book.
