Yikes! I'm freezing my ass off! Today was another -22 day- 3 minutes outside filling bird feeders can bring a serious discomfort to ones hands- as if they are ON fire. Nope, It was an official PJ day & I got my ass in gear (hee hee) & painting this lovely Donkey for a lovely lady named Rosie.
It's too cold for the dogs too Poppy can't take it, she walks af if she is in pain & I encourage them to use the bathroom inside today (peepads on the bathroom floor) & they listen. The rest of the time they fight over heat registers, the one in my office is the preffered register as it hits them like a personal heater, I give thanks for the heat in my home - Rosie is in California which is also experiencing colder than usual temperatures.. it's no -22.
Rosie had brain surgery recently & she is bouncing right back - already up and at it only days later- it amazes me. We have only ever been social media friends- but for a very long time now- I can't even guess, if I had to I'd say easily over 10 years... when I think of all the times she has placed a smile on my face - I wanted to do the same. It's just as important to surround yourself with good people online & I belive Rosie & her Hubby are good people (I've invited them to visit!), she's been a wonderful example of awesome... helpful & positive, encouraging & loving to family & friends... it's been nice to watch, painting this donkey to cheer her up is the least I can do, not only was it fun it it warmed my own heart on this very cold day.
The next time your feeling cold- think of 'someone' wonderful who makes you smile- it might be with silly posts - whatever, luckily there are many awesome people on the planet - we can choose whom we think about... it will warm you right up.
Painting this doneky made me feel all warm & Rosie. ;)
HOME is a documentary I like to watch once a year.. I noticed it's been 10 years, I wonder what the director/artist would think now.. I wish he would go back & film ALL the same places 10 years later - or do I? You can watch it here: Go - Go see this HOME we live on.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU it's stunning.
I watched Surviving R.Kelly & do not understand how he got where he did - with all who knew how he was - or do I? Everyone who went along with him should also be charged... I hope young ladies DO watch & understand to people like this - you are just an object to be owned & used & tossed, how many lives he ruined can't even be comprehended. His money his power- means FUCK all now - The women who did not speak up and continued to watch him destroy lives & NOT warn others.. you can see how it plays on them now, it's a sad situation all around but none as terrible than for the little girls exposed to such pigs- their childhood gone forever by a dirty old man who KNOWS better but also thinks he is better than most & do as they please. Not for long.
It's still cold on this blue Monday- but I did not feel blue at all! I felt Rosie!
I look forward to a new day tomorrow- for another painting adventure.
