Here it comes, every time I turn around I read now that Cannabis is becoming legalized across the united States (and IT IS becoming legalized across the united states), you read about cigarette companies that want to come out with a line of cannabis cigarettes, now that  the rest of the world sees people in Colorado are not becoming Zombies, in fact the opposite - both states now legal - both states in the up coming super bowl ;-)

With  those being able to apply to grow here in Canada * let me correct that - with those that have $$$$$$$$$$$  words like INVESTORS, Opportunity, stocks,  mass marketing,  the headlines are everywhere.  I am NOT  seeing words like patients, compassion, caring.
What else is new. I will be though.

Typical & Criminal.  Only, this battle is about to get complicated.
It's not just about money, it is about out families, children, parents - loved ones.

*I'm a little under the weather, Tis the season. I apologize for the  'continued tomorrow' LOL  It will continue when it is meant to continue.

4/20 2014

O.k. I know it’s a bit early to be talking about 4/20 but it will be here before you know it!
I’m hoping a couple of people mark their calendar and come and say hello!
I will be at Conspiracy Culture Book Store in Toronto! I am terribly excited!

My first official exhibit and show - not in my kitchen!  As it turns out the owner of the book store learned about my work from my friend David - one of my favorite people on this planet. David was also responsible for Laughing Buddha & Zen Kitty to come to life in Glass! Patrick, the owner of Conspiracy Culture became a fan and asked if I would be interested in having an exhibit at the store for 2 months!

As exciting as it was, I did not have anything framed and could not afford to have that many pieces framed, Christmas just was just around the corner.  Sure enough I was at Kat’s Gallery - a long time friend and I was telling my other friend about the book store and Kat said, she would frame my work for the show  and not to worry about $ until after, no worries!  I even had another friend in the city offer to pay for all framing and I could pay them back after the show! LOL - It all just started to fall into place.  I guess it was meant to be.

The hardest part was choosing the art- once again, all originals and they get harder to part with each time. At the same time to think  they will be shared and enjoyed- well  that is what we are to do.  Better being loved than on a self collecting dust ;) I get such a kick when I see someone has framed a post card!

The book store - Conspiracy Culture! The moment I checked out the website
http://www.conspiracyculture.com/aboutus.html
RIGHT ON!  I LOVE IT!!! hahaha! I’m going to be in my glory! As will Storm and Norm we find all this so interesting and all love books. My favorite thing already:
"Patrick makes a point not to censor any of the material he brings into the shop, even carrying content we may not particularly agree with because we feel all viewpoints must be considered in order to grow or broaden one’s perspective."
Look at the lesson we should all be learning with Cannabis alone. Educate yourself.
Come to your own conclusion.

There are many more details but this is what you need to know most! And the fact that I will be giving FREE Cartooning Lessons!  Paper and Crayons will be provided! No experience necessary!  I've taught many a 5 year old so don't be afraid! All you need is your imagination.   More tomorrow...
There are not enough hours in a day it seems lately.

Baby it's cold out! I feel colder these past few days than when it was -14? Canadian Winters! or perhaps a bout of Cabin fever? I bet many pioneer men succumb to that dreaded deadliest of winter flu: Cabinmenopause Fever.  ;)
Actually all is GREAT!
Today, We are confirming details but come this 4/20 I'll be in Toronto promoting Cannabis awareness the best way I know how!!!  Cartooning! Free lessons!!!
What better way to spend the day doing what I love, seeing friends , meeting new friends and Planting the Seed Of Cannabis Education through my passion my cartoons.
More details tomorrow!!
 Well.. maybe later.
Depending on how my son feels after his apt. ;-) Mom first.

I am feeling a bit chilled today! Nothing, a good Book, blanket, Poppy and hot cup of tea and medicated cookies  won't help,   I'm blessed to have all of that and be able to
do exactly that.

God Loves Us.

Proof. Facts.
Never Killed anyone.
Makes most people feel GOOD! HAPPY! RELAXED & at Peace!
Government wants to punish us for it & wants to control it. Profit from it.
Cannabis is now proven to benefit millions around the world with numerous ailments
and is being tested for it's ability shrink brain tumors, and stop seizures in children with far less bodily harm than "modern mans medicine".
Please just answer me this:
WHY should any and every person not be able to plant a seed and grow a plant to provide them with their own medicine. AND food for that matter.
IF you say they should NOT ask yourself, well.. what's next?
For far too long too many people have suffered for using Cannabis - a plant. Yet the government has profited off of Alcohol and tobacco sales for decades, both responsible for killing millions.

Cannabis Proof IN EVERY seed God wants us to be happy.
I thank God daily for this plant. It's the least I can do... well, that and DRAW!!!
I loved this drawing I smiled the entire time! It's nice when it's in your head and you can get it out on paper and have the same feel as when it was in my head. ;)
Ironically - I saw this first as a 'T' on a  guy, text only and it said:
BEER - Proof God Loves us!       Technically - it should have said Hops.
I've had such a roller coaster start to this year! You will hear about it the next few  days! Details had to be finalized..

I have faith God will continue to provide! With every seed!!! Ha _ I think the Mustard seed should have been a cananbis seed.

Well April will soon be here and it is already much on the topic of conversations and minds.  Generally it's not good.  Why would it be? People who have been providing medicine for them selves or others for pennies are now expected to purchase through Government approved growers. Many already on disability, having a hard time proving themselves with a healthy diet let alone medication.  Several say they will be forced back to pills for easy access and because they can get them provided from the government. Cannabis won't be covered. Lawsuits will start. Taxpayers money will go to more courts  and people being sent to jail for growing plants instead of those getting into childrens pants! I can think of a million more serious crimes than growing cannabis.
A Plant. Never forget that little detail.

I have to say it is all incredibly exhausting. Same shit different day as they say.
What I also hear is many people saying they continue to do exactly as they have been. People tired of being lied to, abused, mentally, physically and financially by our own government, people we put in power to protect.
I wonder the last time Steven read or gave the Charter of Rights any serious consideration.  I read it recently.  We have the right to be healthy, happy as long as we are harming no others.   April 1st.. here we come!
Like spring flowers, people will be popping up all over demanding their rights!
Woot Woot! I can't wait!

It's a new day in a new year!

Well I'm down to 2 commission jobs on my desk and then that is IT! No more commissions.  I like to have time to draw for myself & look after other projects that I am interested in.  I like to have one project to focus on at a time! The problem with that is then I have to stat to say No. LOL - Not everyone takes 'NO', too well. Oh well.
It is COLD outside today, the girls happily snuggled on the floor. It has me thankful for a warm home and power to it!
I have not had time to draw much, as I am getting some art ready for an exhibit in Toronto!
A very neat book store on Queen St. contacted me and asked if I'd  consider putting my art there for 2 months... I said YES! I grew up in Toronto and LOVE BOOKS and book stores, I can get lost for hours in them. I am proud to say I have passed down that love to my son!

Life taught me a new lesson with reading and my twitch, something we take for granted... the pleasure of simply sitting and holding a book, resting, reading. Well, I read between the lines and between the twitches now! LOL So it takes longer.
I force myself to begin each day with reading and even picked up a book recently called ZOO - an easy read. I think it is important to continue to exercise my mind  & eyes with reading no matter how frustrating it can be. It is a luxury I do not want to lose.
My son had an eye apt today and had some bad news, he has pressure building up and has to have a laser procedure done at the hospital very soon on each eye, the Dr. was very concerned and talked about Glaucoma. Well we ARE already on the best known medicine for Glaucoma.   We know Storms condition is progressing, still not something a 21 year old wants to hear - who already deals with so much. If there is one thing I know by now -
My son is my hero. He will handle every obstacle life hands him... hopefully one fish at a time. ;-) Until when, we both will enjoy reading and the sunshine!
God willing we wake to each new day! The rest is easy...

It’s January the 2nd and I can’t remember the last time I felt so hopeful going into the new year! We had a wonderful, quiet holiday. Time to just hang out. For Norm that means nap ;)  Actually, we were all feeling relaxed and yes as tacky as it sounds, just blessed to be in each others company. Since surgery, my condition has again progressed.  It is what it is.  It is above all else, a constant lesson & reminder on  time and how precious it is. By the grace of God I’m up every day - we all are. I am then blessed to do what I love and that is draw! Even more blessed that I have some people who like my drawings - LOL, SO I can share my gift. It makes it much more fun, although I create what is passionate to me and many others. We are determined to go into this year positive!

Our year ended with Norm getting a bonus to bring tears! To both out eyes! LOL
Not even the bonus but the fact that he appears to be working for a great guy & company! He comes home happy! Excited to tell me about the job that he did! Not the bullshit he had to put up with. The drive is no longer an issue and he is as happy as can be - so are we!

Storm ended his year on a very positive note - one he has been struggling with for over a year! Enough is enough, time for change. I can’t tell you how proud his dad and I both were for him being a man and taking charge & Remaining the gentleman that he obviously is.

I received a Christmas card from a old friend, she follows wrote she follows me on FB and is inspired by the battle that I ‘choose’ to stand up for on FB. It was a beautiful card, caught me out of the blue ;-) but it had me thinking yes, we do have our battles on FB Many also have other battles, I had several serious ones this past year. Most concerning and on going my health, but we had a couple of others as well.  Ones you ARE NOT reading about on Face Book. We all do. I think that is important to remember.
Many worried, confused as we head into a new year and they should be. It is concerning their health and financial issues - many already struggling on disability - NOT because they want to be!  Not everyone IS a FAKER.

I will end this by saying I am so proud of myself! Recovering from surgery - I did continue to fight for a few things I BELIEVED!  To comment’s like “ It won’t happen”,
“Give it up..” and ‘good luck..’  BUT I persisted! As exhausted as I feel  - I am done!!!
I deserve to be here! YOU deserve to be here! We deserve the right to be happy!
DO no harm - and carry on! Carry on providing health! What ever it takes!
Today we had some POSITIVE over due news in this home.
Because, I did not GIVE UP.

We are heading into 2014 on a very positive note!
Change is in the air and those other fights - they were not the ones I chose to share on FB because they were not the ones MOST important to me.
Wow, Now I have even more time to focus on what is!
Thank You God!

That being said, I DO need admit-tingly, to rest daily, and I NEED to do what I love best and that is draw. Less time on FB. I’m looking into ways to tame the beast! ;) No, Not Norm, the twitch. I have a few projects on the Go!

I feel blessed today, a weight lifted like no other, prayers were answered!!!
GIVE THANKS!

As long as He gives me the gift of a new day I will give it my best in return!
