Got on your long johns? Long Johns.. what a strange name. Long John can refer to two things: a type of pastry, which is a bar-shaped doughnut often filled with cream or custard, and a type of thermal underwear designed for warmth in cold weather. I learned this when Storm brought home chocolate Eclairs and told me they were called "long johns".. lol. The long johns I am referring to are long underwear to keep you extra warm, it's going to be cold. It was chilly this morning.
Storm & I were talking about this snow, ALL this snow.. it seemed to just appear. It goes to show you blizzards are obvious - but when it 'mist snows' you hardly notice until after a couple of days and then say: Where did all this snow come from!? Even the dogs know it's cold, they go out and come in a few moments later, unless someone is out - they might linger... not Poppy or Ginger, too much snow and too cold for tiny legs. Americans are concerned - I always think 'why are they freaking out' until I remember - we are use to it in Canada, they are not. They are scrambling to protect pipes, plan some sort of emergency heat & deal with something they normally don't. I remember a while back reading most 'Floridians' (not sure if that's a word or not, lol) don't even own a proper coat let alone Parka. I was out the other day and had on my parka and was grateful, I don't feel even a hint of cold wearing it. The next few I'm hunkering in, how about you? A great few days of painting & watching the snow.
