It's officially here - winter & it's as it always is- BEAUTIFUL, albeit cold... an it's still coming!
It's a lovely snowy Sunday, this time of year has me picking out my next few months book selection.
I started a warm painting' of Jesus - in the forest where I will long to be, in a few months, until then I can look at the snow covered trees. Yesterday, I could see a deer outside my studio (a distance away) an a gaggling gang of turkeys crossed the driveway. How the dogs know they are there, I don't know - they MUST hear them. Turkeys ARE FAST and fight in gangs - so, I do not encourage my girls to chase them.
Seeing as it's Sunday I want to mention Bible thoughts- (remember Church Chat? on SNL lol)
Someone asked me via Instagram: Do you know Jesus?
I didn't hesitate: Do I know Jesus!? He is my BEST Friend and constant companion. No contemplation needed.
I'be been reading the bible with a mission in mind - cards and art to inspire. In The beginning you read: & God said, God Spoke, The word of God.. who doesn't get curious enough to want to read - The Word of God?! HOLY! EVEN IF you don't believe in God- I'd still want to KNOW what God said! Don't you? Considering it's the most read book in the world, many understand, I know so many that don't. Many went to church, practiced the traditions, baptism, first communion... learned about it and still , now adults- have never read the bible. Trust me when I say, it is your loss. Loss and Lost.
I amazed myself at my response this morning, not one second of hesitation and I couldn't have been more sure of any text I've ever sent! Jesus IS my best friend & constant companion (Thank God!)
This also keeps me asking for forgiveness, at my inability to ignore some circumstances. To NOT forgive yourself - is absolutely and INSULT to Jesus! He died for our sins so that we may be forgiven! Thank You! The trick is - once aware (and WE ALL ARE) when you know- what you've done - don't do it again.. it's an even bigger sin & insult to mock Jesus, to keep on sinning.
Something has Clicked for me'.. I've become Jesus obsessed, the Bible fascinates me! It's become enjoyable to read, I can hardly put it down, so my other books better be as entertaining & inspiring. Everything from huge lessons to tiny details amaze me and it often has me wondering - IS there anything wording in the bible that is insignificant? No. I'm more convince every time - EVERY word is meaningful. It's why I DO encourage people to read The King James version and start In The beginning.. For those that won't read the bible because "it's boring" - you haven't been paying attention!
EVEN Ai is blowing people away with it's deductions' of The Holy Bible. Some won't read it because they are afraid, they know they are sinning.. I have been there too. I am still a sinner but I LOVE Jesus and it shows. When God speaks to me (God speaks to us all, I promise you) I OBEY, do things I'm not always thrilled to do, or ask the understanding - I've noticed, as soon as I do - I can then 'Let Go & Let God, almost magically 'stresses lift', the weight/dread leaves and I'm wondering what I'm going to paint! The miracle of Love, my heart heals and I can CREATE, again.
This doesn't mean certain situations have changed, specific people won't still piss you off... but ignoring gets easier, wisdom gets better with every 'learning/teaching opportunity' and every day, is exactly that a new lesson. God gave us the text book. Read it. Your life will be richer.
Jesus IS my best friend- call me crazy - Jesus and I, will laugh out-loud as I sketch and paint another day! Amen.
