Do you know how much I love Poppy? Let me count the ways...
I love how she rolls onto my pillow in the morning when I ask: Is it time to get up? I love how she always has to see where I am and what I'm doing, always checking up on me. I love how she waits for me to ask her if she 'want's to come outside' before we venture outside, everyone else is out the door the moment I get on my runners. I love how her favourite place on the planet is my lap. I love how she's traveled with me & went to The Getty in LA. I love how she is a GreatDane at heart. I love how she tilts her tiny head at every question I ask her. I love how she lets out these little "yap!" when she rubs the back of my neck (on the back of the sofa). I love how she lets everyone know she is the boss an so 'do what mom says!'
Yesterday she was coming in from outside - peeing in the snow, reached the top of the deck and fell on her side - unable to go any further! I panicked and ran out and got her, I don't know what happened but it was if she was paralyzed on her back left side and it stayed that way. I was so upset I took her to bed (7p.m.) to watch her and did some serious snuggling. She seems fine this morning (Thank God) but it really frightened me. I don't know what I'll do when I lose Poppy... she is 11 an I read most Chihuahuas only live to 11! Nope.. she's gonna be here a while yet. I will carry her when blind and chew all her food when she looses all her teeth... that's how much I love Poppy.
LOVE you furry companions! Poppy does NOT have to go outside anymore & if we do, I will make sure I always have the carrier to carry her. I'm not going to focus on losing Poppy -I'm going to focus on (as always) Loving Poppy!
Below, Poppy - saying her prayers before bed. :).
Enjoy this day The Lord has made!!
