It was definitely challenging painting this in the heatwave, I had to constantly spray my pallet as the paint dried fast, of course I'd forget and take a stroll with the dogs to come back and "Arrrrrgh" - forgetting to cover my stay wet pallet, neglecting to place on the cover - Duh. Looking at it this morning - I'm adding bees too, 3. It's bright & cheerful - just like my thought of Jesus!
I was reading the Gospel of Mary Magdalen, chances are if you ask most people: who is she? They will respond:
Mary is the prostitute Jesus forgave and then became a follower.. No where in the Bible does it state Mary is a prostitute!
That was a detail fabricated by Pope Gregory - Phhhhbt.. (typical) to give the appearance of a loose woman.. just a woman.
When you read & understand the Gospel of Mary you understand, not much has changed towards women, if anything the bible has been used to keep women in ' their place', (not what Jesus teaches) much of it misunderstood - accidentally & intentionally. Mary did suffer from mental illness- depression (demons) that Jesus drew out of her, she then became a follower... BUT not just a 'follower , Mary much loved by Jesus, she became an apostle (the only woman) and was also his favourite. She was also who he first showed himself to after his resurrection & knew with her faith, she would be the best to let the others be made aware- He was back! Mary was spiritually advanced and the closest confidant (it appears) to Jesus at the time. No wonder they don't want this included! Arrrrrgh! Men.
Women are equal (some superior) when it comes to men as spiritual leaders and this will be evident in the years (& awakening) to come - wait & see! There are several women all key players in the bible , some take men down and some raise others up, including entire nations. Women have been lied to, controlled and demeaned simply for expressing 'their gifts & desire to heal/help others. When men healed, they would be considered Dr.s, healers & Shaman... women were witches & we all know how that went. Yet here we are. Women had been lied to for so long - many of us forget what miracle marvels we indeed are! We made babies, women have kept the world continuing. Sure men have done incredible feats - all born by and raised by (mostly) women. Ask many successful men - who do you attribute to your success.. Many respond: mom & hard work. More on Mary soon, Jesus has inspired a new painting.
Athene & Arrow have become inseparable, watching them chase each other is very amusing! Athene is almost as fast as Arrow. Athene grabs Arrows ball and forces her to chase her for it.. OMG I love my dogs... Athene is proving to be a GOOD GIRL! This is the first week, no accidents in the house - finally, lol. I would express displeasure and yell "No! This is bad" but never hit her. I'd show her the spoon, lol all I have to do is show my dogs 'the spoon', I smack it on a table and they know - ohoh.. mom means business. Accidents happen & I know patience and love and constant reinforcement will do it.
I did feel sorry for Arrow yesterday, Athena loves her and insists on snuggling.. lol it was so hot but Arrow lets her, below is a typical photo of Arrow trying to sleep & Athene snuggling. Athene is becoming a good, big girl.
A new painting on the desk today - inspired by (of course) Jesus! What are you dwelling on? Painful pasts - let it Go!
Fearful future.. forget about it and ENJOY this day you have been given - a NEW day to focus on God & Good.
