The above images of Poppy were all painted from the same photo, on different days, usually before I went to sleep.
The only one that took any amount of 'time', was the one that is painted. I find it interesting how different each one is depending not on the image but my different moods & level of energy. It's a good idea for artists to sketch the same subject over & over (in ALLL moods) to teach themselves a few things about their own work, perception and expectations.
I'll continue this practice in this sketchbook, as who needs an excuse to sketch such a beautiful, tiny, loving, ferocious (according to Athene) beast.. not I.
