Ursula discovers Sea Weed... Gouache on black & real dried cannabis leaf. 8 x 8
The Sea Witch discovers Sea weed. My first painting with a real leaf, 2 more wait on my desk. It's amusing trying to incorporate real leaves... forcing the mind to explore & expand, just like cannabis. These leaves once removed from the pages of the book, quickly 'turned & curled with the moist air, so I have to keep them in a book until ready to use.
I applied this one directly onto the paint which can be tricky, you don't want to upset the paint or play too much with the delicate leaves, especially the points. I also covered the leave with an extra coat but don't like the 'glossy effect.
Any new medium, including dried leaves force a new element of creativity. A boost to creativity - try it. Today we're collecting ALL leaves, before they fall, this fall. I hope to find some large enough to paint, an easy task, living in the forest. Leaf craft is nothing knew, just search PIN for endless ideas for all skill levels. Who doesn't remember placing leaves between sheets of wax paper to cut out and tape to windows? I have used cannabis in resin but the leave colour faded after time, not as appealing. I'm excited to paint todays idea, along the same lines and then -the next (probably also painted today) had me giggling at the sketch, that's usually a good sign. Once you start - you're on a roll!
Speaking of roll - roll me another (please). I can't roll joints anymore, it's simply too frustrating and painful, who knew rolling a joint would hurt my hand, thankfully Storm does, when ever I request. One joint lasts me all day. It's never really been about getting high' for me - more about medicating. & why I understand the importance of Gods medicine. Relief without all the side effects. Trying to take a break from prescription anti-inflammatory, I am increasing my cannabis use & it works... Even with cannabis it is good to take a break- clear the body & mind. A few weeks and medicine then seems potent again. Did you know, taking any medication (man made) is proven to cause har on the rest of your body, damage that might never be repaired or diminish, even if you stop medications. Is it worth it? Would it not be better to try to manage your pain in healthier ways? Hobbies that keep you passionate and your mind occupied are a great start. For me, reading, painting and conversing with God - prayer are 3 ways that I am able to get past pain.
One thing I have witnessed on this cannabis journey is people that usually have problems with it, also have a tendency to use (at the same time) other elements like alcohol, prescription medications which can enhance the sensation. I noticed on a medication (for the first time) the bottle warns 'marijuana' (and alcohol) may intensify this effect. Good. So when I felt the medication weakening' not being as effective I intentionally used cananbis with it and it worked, for a bit. I did notice the medication was not working as well as soon as 3 weeks into it but felt other negative effects daily, so off it I have gone. It's not worth it. A medicine designed to help (for a couple of weeks) did, yet abdominal cramping started, dry mouth, increase head pain (of a different kind, excessive bo, and increased irritability also had been noted AND it wan't helping as much as it did the first 2 weeks - my option; increase pills or increase natural medicine.
Natural is working, as well as. Thank God.
Speaking of real leaves, my son made me some paper to paint on! That too, is exciting. More soon.
Next another seaweed adventure.
Enjoy your day & do some research - figures out what works best for you. Feeling good, healthy is not a crime.
Putting people in jail for growing plants' that help many heal, is a crime, against each other & God.
