Puppy love. Hard to believe this baby is not yet 6 months.
She recently found a teddy bear I've had a long time in the closet and she loves it. I was hesitant to give it to her as it's handmade and 'fragile, so I watched her with it. Soon she started to carry it around, usually by the ear and it is fricken adorable, as you can see. I let her keep it and I guess because she watches Ginger bring her baby to nap time, she now has brought her bear a few times! She plays with it, holds it and lifts it up and this was how I found her and my eyes teared... they grow up so fast. lol.
Whats great at this stage is they nap!! She had the zoomies last night and when I went into my bedroom, literally every piece of furniture was moved! It's a far cry from when Poppy had the zoomies and would trip over a sock. I can't believe that just a few months ago she was the same size as Poppy!! Now Athenes paw is the same size as Poppy head.
They are a lot of work at this stage... sometimes when I'm just getting into a painting (meditative state) - she'll come up to me and "BARK!!" I feel like a cartoon cat flying up to the ceiling... and I swear you can see the look of amusement in that smile. Still, she occasionally to does her business inside & that's after being out for a few hours, but she is very good.. well she was ripping up plants right after I put them in pots but she listens when I call... lol. Really, no fooling around in bear country! COME!! When mom calls. Ahhh, dogs. I love them. I couldn't bear to be without them.
Every now and then, I do get tired and tell them: ENOUGH! Go lay the &^%$ down! Ironically, I think they need and appreciate this, especially Arrow who likes it a littler calmer than the pup who loves to tackle her, for no reason. I know Athena has made the passing of Daisy easier for all of us but especially Arrow. Speaking of Naptime, she does nap. Thank God! We all nap and noone gets up until I do, they all snore so I just lay there, hahaha. I need to rest body, face and staying still works, I absolutely love the sound of them snoring (not Arrow she does not snore) it reminds me they feel safe' with me, & are comfortable and loved, relax enough to snore... Just the thought of poppy not snoring makes me want to cry - NO! I love her so much, I tell her every night before we drift off.
If only all children felt this way, and dogs, cats... LOVE not WAR.
Not ever....
