The birds are back! I've finally seen a Scarlet Tanager - male & female. It was vibrant berry red and it was identified by a bird call ap, which is pretty inpressive, no more wondering -what's making that Sweet Tweet? I illustrated them while watching them at the feeder. I've also seen my first Snow Bunting. (painting soon) & I have a lovely pair of Rose Breasted Grosbeak , they are so laid back, I can practically walk right up the the feeder when they are at it. Hearing the birds is the loveliest way to wake up.. there must be an alarm clock that imitates this, for those who don't get to hear them. I'm so happy the birds are back & the leaves too!
Ticks are back also, I have already been bitten and so have the dogs. I spray them and we check them (when we remember) but it's next to impossible to do each time they go out & my hands have difficulty feeling for & removing them, I actually tried to use the Tick Key on me but I had difficulty pulling it out and the ticks head came off, not fun. Anyway, I don't stress over them, stressing over them is the same as mosquitos - they are a part of life and one can't live in fear because of them, we can take some precautions but that's about it.
The two children are still missing and I read an article how people send threatening letters to the parents, that's shameful - who are we to judge when WE DO NOT KNOW. Sure people speculate (human nature) but to accuse & harass & convict (in their minds) someone is guilty without knowing, in a situation like this is just cruel. As parents , having your child go missing or dying are our greatest fears & what a nightmare it must be, one most parents would never get over. I'll admit, in the past Id judge people who leave kids in cars on hot days.. (something we'll be reading about this summer, sadly) but as more cases are share, most of these parents are overwhelmed, exhausted, overworked and stressed out... living knowing you left your baby to die in a hot car would be hell on earth for the rest of their lives. I no longer judge them, I leave it to God.
Lastly, do you like tuna? I do. I didn't eat it for over a decade (almost 2) because no one else likes it and would refuse to eat it. Except for the few times I made Tuna Casserole and said it was chicken, then it was consumed no problem - phhhhhbt. Tuna cakes- I found this recipe & the woman commented: she shamelessly ate three while the rest cooked...
lol - me too! They are easy & delicious and a nice change from a beef patty, the dogs were drooling also - they spilt one between them. I am making them again today - since Im the only now who enjoys they they will make at least 3 meals - maybe too.

Happy Friday! Today I'm hanging out with a Toad, I started him yesterday, today it's all about details. I'm painting him to hang in the bathroom as a reminder to sit and soak and enjoy this day The Lord has made.
