Not long now and we start a new year! A clean slate- kinda. I am excited..
I have seen things this year that have given me HOPE. Do I think it's going to be difficult? Yes, we are in for a bumpy ride and revolution. The powers that be, will try not to televise but WE the people are proving more resilient than anticipated. Amen. Word is getting around. Just this past week I've had a few American friends reach out & ask me what's going on? Is it true? It has begun.
I've read the bible a few times now but every time has been a different enlightening experience, I'm more fascinated and in absolute AWE each time I do.. this last start', the moment I read "And God saw that it was good.." God spoke.
This image instantly appeared, in my mind, I grabbed a sketch book and it was born! I then grabbed a piece of wood that I've had in the studio for months (looking blankly at me every day) and sketched it, in seconds, I know what I wanted & where. I was so excited, I actually painted (sketched with paint) before cut out.. more details & then I had another idea! Actually, it was also inspired by a gift I made for a neighbour (The Lord works in mysterious ways!) much like this but 'all in blue', it turned out better than I anticipated, & it was 'fun' - that's when I came up with the mini bonus paintings'.
I couldn't wait to make 'me' one too!

After this stage.. it hit a stop and sat, and sat and sat...
It was finally, after some coaxing (& yelling) cut out & intentionally ruined.
When I saw what he did, I threw it across the garage and there it sat for a few more weeks. It was fixed with an apology' that meant nothing at this point. At this point, it's too often, too stressful and too destructive, obvious to me & others, it could have and would have all been avoided if done properly, like the last. I'll find someone else to cut out any future woodwork for me, lesson learned.
It was difficult to work on it at first, still seeing the damage & repair work, until I covered it with paint, very painstakingly..
The more paint I applied - the more I remembered 'who' I created it for and why.
The more I did the easier it got and now when I look at it - I see again LOVE. I put love into it.
That's what I'm doing in 2026, putting more love into all I do and leaving the rest for God to handle.
I repaired the damage (as usual), a lesson in healing & art repair, and not giving up on myself.'
& standing up for myself.
I am grateful for the lesson, not every lesson is enjoyable and sometimes we do need that push - as hard as it is, to push us to the next level. Mission accomplished.
Tomorrow a new day - a new year... a start fresh - in all ways.
And Athenes birthday - we're celebrating with a little dog pawty.
What lessons did you learn? I learned to not trust the narrative, or politicians... not at the moment.
What do you want to show the world as we continue forward?
Me -I'll Praise Jesus! & continue to give thanks for every day, every opportunity & ever lesson..
I hope to raise people up & possibly provide some Joy with my art.
I am nothing without God.
See you tomorrow!
