"Daisy". Love, Mom
I forgot a couple of details.
For those who do not understand, dogs are like children and the grief I feel right now is heavy. I'm glad it's raining I do want to stay in bed today. Still, I already baked this weeks batch of dog treats/cookies. Allowing yourself to feel the pain IS an important part of the process, albeit - AS I type, Poppy is sitting on my lap looking up at my tearful face... my dogs are very sensitive to me crying and cuddle huddle, I know they too are missing Daisy so today, we'll all mope, nap & cry a little.'
Dogs - our furry children... we feed them, play with them, snuggle them, talk to them, kiss them, walk with them, watch them, make sure they are safe, watch TV with them, share our meals with them, explore the world with them.. play hide and seek with them & it hit me:
I have spent more time with Daisy then I have my mom, Norm or even Storm.. As they all lived their lives and ventured out, went to their own homes, went to school, went to work... I have spent more time with my dogs than most humans, especially the past 5 years.
It really feels like like an empty hole, something is missing... Daisy.
AS fate has it.. the project I'm working on & have been for a few weeks - has a dog 'Bear', in it. I decided to model it after Daisy & Athene, with those adorable eyebrows, but mostly Daisy. Therefore, trying to paint as a distraction' at the moment is NO distraction, as the dog is with his boy' in almost every image. I'll take a couple days off, I'll try something "spring or bugs bunny today, and pick it up again Monday.
