Happy long Weekend! The weather has been fantastic.. with the exception of black flies & mosquitos & deer fly - it's absolutely perfect out. Everything planted in the garden has taken off and grows noticeably over night to my amazement each morning, were already picking lettuce for our BLT breakfast.
Every time I get a T shirt, with a stain on it (usually paint - lol) I'll keep it and when I have several I paint them - new life for a thrown aside T, this time I had 5. I usually never know what I'll paint until they are in front of me, it's a joy filled, stress free painting session for sure. I prefer to wear cotton so even if I don't wear them out', I'll wear them around the house or as a new night T. I made Storm one yesterday, it turned out the best of the bunch. It's fun to paint them outside as well, even though the paint dries quickly they are usually done quickly so I don't really notice as much, it's also a fantastic way to use up older/other paint. I don't use Golden, I save that for more serious' works on canvas. T shirts are a wonderful way to experiment! I feel like I have a new instant wardrobe (FREE - YAY! for recycling) the stains no longer noticeable instead some lovely art to focus on.
The dogs like it, hanging outside with mom... actually, when it gets too hot - Athene is clear - she prefers to be inside under my bed, the only heat monger is Poppy! She loves it, if I'm out so is she. Today is another beautiful day.. more painting outside. It's busy in the Highlands, we went to the farmers market and there seemed to be more than usual, we had the best lemonade from a sweet tiny entrepreneur - if you see her at the Minden Farmers market -make sure you grab a cup & the strawberries- well they just can't be beat. PLEASE remember If you take your dogs *DO NOT leave them in a hot vehicle* - leave them at home if that's the case. I've already read about car windows being smashed this summer to save a dog from heat exhaustion. This (of course) applies to children too.
Enjoy summer before that all too familiar cooler season is upon us again! 6 months tomorrow the year 1/2 over already.
Enjoy this day The Lord has made! You were created to create - not sit and watch Tv or your cell phone. Paint an old T, this is also a creative idea for kids, even if they dip their hands in paint and press them on a shirt, or slices of fruit or other 'found objects' , create art & a memory while you're at it.
