It's almost fall! It will be here in the blink of an eye - if the forest is any indication, the leaves are already changing.
Mushrooms are appearing and double in size over night- magical is right! We have been exploring more than ever, the guys thankfully have made the path easier to walk, Storm especially cleaned it up' so I can walk through without little trouble but I do wander off the path. The other day I tell you - a rock called to me! It was in the bush a bit, how I saw it - I don't even know, partially buried in leaves but I did.. more on that rock soon. The girls are loving it too, no bugs, cooler -it's perfect! If you want to see fall in all it's magnificent glory -The Haliburton Forest is a great place to start! I visited a friends decades ago & fell in love with the area then, I'm so grateful God put me here. These past years have been the best, not perfect (nothing ever is) but being surrounded by these powerful pine, rocks, hills, creatures has been an absolute blessing. It's impossible not to be inspired with every walk.
At one point feeling especially grateful, I stopped took a deep breath of forest' mud, moss and pine (someone should bottle it) & I looked up & there was a cross above (some might see an X, which is o.k. too - as it was marking the treasure -teehee) a symbol to Praise Jesus! We did. It's that time where we know we better get out - while we can, without ice & snow.
Anyway - paintings await on my desk, laundry to fold too - it's not all bliss lol
Plan a visit to The Highlands - Haliburton Forest! you won't be disappointed! Oh! BTW.. Mark Carney was just up here, running thought the forest, YIKES! lol I hope I don't see him running through my forest.. I'd have to chase him and beg him: What's happening with CRA? How about Canada Post? When will you make changes for violent offenders stop being released to reoffend & treat young offenders who commit serious crimes - seriously. When will rent be affordable? How about dropping groceries prices?
Don't forget there's also several tasty restaurants too, art shows, studio tours & galleries, coffee shops, lovely tiny town vibe to stroll, Minden, Haliburton & Carnarvon The Mason Jar makes a great burger, The Mill Pond always tastes of Homemade goodness - I can walk to both & walk off the burger on the way back home - hahaha (wishful thinking)
