Oh my goodness, me all day today: Maybe I'll make shepherds pie... French onion soup wold be good...
I feel like maple scones.... I think I'll make chicken curry... Get out the stretchy pants! It's comfort food season!
Frig. Oh well, I thank God for food, fall & simply because I can still cook!
You don't know what you got till it's gone.. paved paradise- you know the song - it's true. I use to cook with ease & little considerations - now onions make me cry (not that way)- they are so hard to chop! I give thanks because I can, not all days but most days. Be grateful, every day for the simple things like good eye sight, hands or feet that don't hurt when yours them, pain free days, being able to physically enjoy life to the fullest. Walking the forest is not always easy with balance issues but each adventure is worth every second - tell that to Ginger. OMG I love Ginger.. my tiny loaf that gains weight as easy as me. I had to tie a rope around her the other day, she was hot and tired and wanted to sit but I'm not leaving her and for sure - I'm NOT carrying her - I can't, she's solid. She is slow on the trail somedays and needs much encouragement but we get tired & hot from waiting and then the other dogs kinda pick on her "hurry up" or perhaps it's just encouragement, doggy style. She wags her tail to me as we step out of the forest onto the drive way! We did it!! Yay! Give thanks. I never let her linger to long or too far away, from fear of a coyote spying on us. The dogs sure had their sniffers in the air & hackles raised today. If you want to see fall - I believe from looking out my window it's here now- early!
I walk the forest for days and don't find any mushrooms (yet), then I pick tomatoes and see mushrooms. Perfect.
There's nothing better than drawing from the real things! That's what I'm doing for a few. making mushroom cards.
Please continue to keep Brandy (Tres mom) in your prayers. I have been thinking about her non stop, it must be difficult, Tres was her life, all day every day she looked after him, I learned a bit watching the documentary and was amazed to the extent - but that's a mom for you. Love, unconditional love. Tres was not supposed (according to Dr.s) live very long. Doctors can be and are often, incorrect. I'm sure she is surrounded by love but prayers always help.
