Well.. Told you I left my bible out & it poured..but lear I took a better look, as I tried to dry it in the sun and realized it got a lot wetter than I first realized. If you know gouache (I've mentioned it many times) DON'T GET GOUACHE WET. Wet gouache dissolves (usually) into a terrible blurry mess -mostly. My bible is still wet, I'm putting it in a bag today with a dehumidifier but I think it's a bit of a miracle- as my paintings are all fine! There has been some damage but it came from marker blurring where I wrote or outlined -so I was shocked when I flipped through and see the paintings are fine.
Truthfully, I tell you - :) I would have been upset if worse. Lot's of work and several readings has made it dear to me... just a book - N0, It's The Book. What's with the weather not telling us -it's gonna rain? Like right now. My Bible is drying & I thank the Lord it was not a huge sloppy gouache mess.. Whew - lesson learned - The Bible stays inside.
I'll admit today why the bible is a difficult read some days.. Not because I can't comprehend but because of what it teaches and asks of all of us.. mostly, forgiveness. Yesterday fricken Instagram got me again, sobbing to the point I could not see. A story came across my feed, a woman in Florida her name is Elizabeth Jaimes, if you want to google go ahead but you've been warned. When her partner was at work she was beating his dog with a rubber mallet, so you could not see the injuries (sneaky bitch) on a leash so it could not run, immediately I was harbouring anger and vengeful thoughts towards this woman. Furthermore, Id be a liar if I didn't think 'I hope she gets what she deserves (currently in jail)'... I KNOW, God says leave it to God - Vengeance shall be mine says the Lord. I wanted her to hurt like she hurt that poor innocent dog, nasty C*nt. So, I'm far from perfect. I wrestled with God - about all sorts of issues especially abuse towards children & pets. Here's the thing - there are millions of dog lovers and some will see that video and they don't believe in the bible or God, karma will still be waiting for this woman when she get's out in 5 years, wait & see. Look at what happened with that guy who dragged a wolf into a bar & then shot it outside (for fun)... he's still getting 'attention'. I on the other hand ask God for forgiveness regarding my emotions and anger directed at the woman... still. Am I grateful social media is sharing these stories? I guess I am, better than these sick, horrible individuals getting away with it, over & over. She's so calm as she repeatedly beats this dog as it screams in agony.. she is evil. Thank God, hidden cameras caught her. Anyhow- I remind myself for everyone of her, there are thousands of humans who love our animal companions and would never intentionally hurt them. I have to let it go.. Let God deal with her.
I want to show my American friends what it's like for us Canadians to shop on Amazon.. You have all seen those BUZZFEED 'these are the items you need to have a great summer' (example) then it proceeds to show us some neat items with the price as you see in A below, then you click on the link (buy now) which takes you to Amazon Canadian and WHAM - check out the Canadian price for the same item -as seen in B. WTF!? Seriously - how do they justify the price increase- thats' more than just the exchange.

I thought well for $35.. it's o.k. but for $95 -for that crap!? lol - from an affordable price to an over priced mark up for the same item - thank you Amazon! No, really... Thank you Amazon for the lesson and helping Canadians avoid buying more crap we don't need. It's a slap in the face - what are we, stupid? I hope not. You might have a few lose screws if you think thats' o.k. or justifiable. It's definitely helped me save money. I have a few old baskets, I'm sure one will make a handy caddy to carry out to the BBQ and save me 100 bucks.
While sitting in the sunshine this morning I had an idea for a new 'tall' painting! Just the concept excited me and my mind is racing. Time to break out the canvas & acrylic's & Enjoy this day the Lord has made.
Dear Lord, I know the dog survived albeit with a broken jaw and blind and PTSD but please show that beautiful beast kindness, love, joy and lots of fun doggy walks and toys until it resides with you. Amen
