I had a bit of Saturday morning painting fun - Yogi & BooBoo discovering Shiitake in the woods!
Enjoyable way to start a Saturday morning, the skies where grey in the morning, yet- as bright as Yogis forest in the afternoon.
I was inspired by the Shiitake in the forest that Storm inoculated! Soon they will be fried and enjoyed with dinner.
A couple of photos of them below & the logs they come out of. Fascinating! I watched him drill them all and put the mushroom plugs in and has been keeping them 'rained on'- other than that, patience in a must.
He explains how to set it up on his Instagram page: Flow mycology.
I enjoy all mushrooms (especially fried in damp butter!) so to have this variety is a bonus, you can't always find fresh, organic Shiitake - Grow your own! I also think kids in particular would enjoy creating the mushroom logs (with adult assistance) and watch them produce over and over.
The above painting didn't take long, Athene keeps me busy so I have to paint - enjoyable, less detailed work that I often get up and walk away from to see what she is into ' now'. I know the puppy stage does not last forever (whew) so it's easier to stay patient, still I can't slack - especially with her not coming RIGHT away, when I call. We can't fool around in the forest. She is SO sweet though - it's hard to say no. Enjoy this day the Lord has made! I hope you find some fungi in the woods!
