Rise & Shine! The sun is up at 6 - Yay, me too! It's still "brisk" as I notice filling the bird feeders this morning! The birds are back - I see a new one every now and then, my favourite has to be when you unexpectedly look up and see a little lemon looking back at you! The other day Storm came in asking "What kind of bird is this?!" He had a tiny house finch in his hand, a baby! It was so sweet, this is the time I hear little 'knocks on the windows - babies learning what glass is, then they fly back and alert the others. Did you know birds are often just knocked out for a few seconds.. I pick them up and gently rub their tiny chest, 9 out of 10 times they open their dazed eyes, need a moment before they fully recover & fly off.
This morning Storm came in: What kind of bird is this?! This time we all jumped up to see - lol So sweet & not one sign of fear even with that big snout sniffing. Then Storm gets that Disney moment, open the door, open his hand and off it goes, Athene chasing it as it heads into the forest. What a lovely way to start the day.
Yesterday was warm, I put out my Peyote Storm grew from seed, that a cat once took out of the soil and then spit out.. Clive, I call him - is growing taller I guess he's almost 3 inches tall - well at 3 a.m. I woke -startled! Clive!! I got up and ran over to the patio doors only to see him safe & warm on my desk. Whew.
Have you seen the coolest furniture in my studio? It's my stool... I switch up every few days, stool, chair (usually for late night painting) and a mat I stand on. My stool is OLD, it's a piano stool, hand carved with a heavy duty screw that turns to adjust the height. My aunt Ann gifted it to me about 10 years ago. This weekend I plan on giving it some serious TLC including a new cover. I miss old stuff I got rid of.. it was made to last, we were tricked into BUY new' - it's not always better. This stool still being used, will outlast most modern made furniture now. I might even paint it! Maybe not tho - the wood is lovely.. one "foot" was nibbled on by baby Arrow. It's nice too that it reminds me of my aunt, I keep her in my prayers. Your seating is important, switching it up is important.. we were created to create!
Wait until you see tomorrows Saturday morning fun painting... If I finish it today, it's on my mind... not yet canvas.
Thank you Lord for another day to be inspired by your Glory from tiny Clive to the tallest pine, to a bird in the hand being worth more than two in the bush, hahaha.. I kid you not- while writing this blog, Storm brought in another bird!
It looked the same, a bit smaller. Grateful for tiny feathered miracles saying 'Good Morning!

Spring is here! Today, I am working on the third of a set of paintings I am pleased with. Inspired by GOD, of course.
I'm working on a related project & will save them until then a sneak peek below.. Arrow is ready for Spring, everyday we sweep up enough of her hair to knit Poppy a sweater. She has found, is finding all the balls now that the snow has melted & lets me know it, all day.
