,I like Petri dishes! lol. Storm uses them to cultivate mushroom spores which then look like amazing works of art- by non other than nature. I am amazed and obsessed with them.. I took one and was playing around the other day & had an idea. Now that gardening is over' well the seed part anyhow- everything is already growing! I wanted to store my seeds away for next year. Where I can find them easily, and hopefully they won't be destroyed like my last batch as I left the box outside and it didn't fair well in the rain (sigh).
I came up with a solution & a 'pretty ' one at that! Playing around while watching the WhyFiles (WF) on Plum Island; mind blowing bull that the government got away with -as usual. I know someone who got sick and couldn't eat beef, all of the sudden, perhaps it was a lone star tick.. terrible what they intentionally did. A crime against humanity.
Anyway, I also love seeds! They are lovely to look at & study, I want to identify them by 'seed'... now I can!
I created my own set of seed holders! Lovely to look at and easy to access - this would also be a neat way to teach & have fun with kids - let them design their own seed cases. It's like that version of a memory card game when flipped- Guess the seeds!
The process was pretty simply:
Trace an outline of the lid on watercolour paper
draw the vegetable the seeds belong to
cut out slightly larger so they fit snuggly in the Petri dish without adding glue
place in seeds & tape shut!
*note.. for real tiny seeds like dill, I suggest tape all around to seal them in, most only have tiny spots of tape.
A few images below.. as well as a message from Sweet Cheeks! Who has taken to sitting on certain pictures around the house and chirp at me!! This was his message & reminder the other day (below). Have a creative day! I'm out to weed the garden and admire the seeds - now sprouts - soon vegetables! Enjoy this day The Lord has made & give thanks for the continued journey!
