Mullein is a stunning plant. A friend once told me "it's good luck to have one grow in your garden", this one is up front & centre! Not planned, but I am delighted to see & the flowers make great Tea, good for colds and respiratory issues. This plant is so lovely - It's inspired a painting & an idea for collecting seeds, when it's done growing & dry, it will be saved for a torch' used long ago, especially in winter, when dipped in fat' will it burn for an extended period. The Flowers are edible & will be picked for future tea. The leaves can be smoked to help with respiratory issues (go figure) the Lord indeed works in mysterious ways! Just look at all the medicine God has provided! By the way... mullein leaves are also knows as 'hunters toilet paper', soft, strong and absorbent'.. I have tried and encourage all to try when they visit the outhouse - ALSO better for the environment, nature at it's finest.
It grew because this yearly hands are sore... how sore? I teared up at removing the ^%$# tag off the bag of bread. I decided to let everything grow & to my amazement - there are a few plants that are lovely! I'm learning about several new native plants and saving seeds! Speaking of saving seeds - I'm working on a really pretty garden project you'll want to come back and see, easy & fun.. I'll try to make a few templates'. So - a positive side effect of arthritis pain & letting Go'... discoveries in the garden & blessings. Today I'll be painting mullein and a few other of my garden treasures.
