My recent Fungi are finished! They do look great sitting on a shelf, which shelf if the question.
Acrylic on wood.
I've seen enough mushrooms to guess' and who's to say -"that's not correct.." as Scientists, mycologist predict we've only learned just a few of these mushroom marvels so perhaps my painted version is one - yet to be discovered!!
It took about 3 days, I like to step back when using acrylic and make sure I'm creating the look I want, usually through layering, just like gouache. I finally have the habit of taking my acrylic brushes - in a designated monkey can' off my shelf and on to the desk and put my gouache brushes (in my Kermit cup) back on the shelf.. no brush screw up.

This piece is 2 feet by 6 inches tall (at the Amanita) just enough to add some POP! to anyplace. lol I've already move it countless times.. I think I'll create a taller, longer next for my window ledge... maybe something more tropical for an entirely different mood enhancer for when the snow arrives.. For being a smaller piece it took longer than I anticipated but it's all the details - painted with love and love is in it! A few times. Can you see it? It's also chunky enough, it doesn't easily tip, hooks will be added to the back, just in case I decide it needs a wall instead of a shelf.
Have a fantastic weekend! Enjoy it, get some fresh air!
