Yesterday was our first spring walk in the woods! The day Daisy died I now realize was a real gift, it was beautiful & warm -if only for a couple of days allowing us to bury her, I walked back in the snow.. easier than anticipated. Yesterday, not as easy - still enjoyable albeit painful. From a winter of only walking on flat surfaces to the hills, rocks, stepping over branches and not flat ground - I was exhausted after yesterdays walk, Ginger too. Today (as every first walk in spring) my ankles are bruised and sore... I'll go out again today & hopefully every day -all summer; past experience proves the pain will diminish with time. Athene actually helped by pulling me ups few hills, lol & she listened well and didn't take off - when I wasn't holding the leash. Normally, Athene is on a lead that allows her to run across the yard, no complete freedom, util she understands - she can't wander.
We visited Daisys' grave and her and Arrow claimed on the rocks, the two little ones stoop sniffing. I miss Daisy, she was such a happy girl, always. Arrow proved her rockstar status yet again, she walks 5 times what I do - first she runs ahead to make sure the coast in clear, then comes back looking for me, she also keeps everyone in line! Literally. If Poppy runs ahead she run up and snaps at her as if to say, not too far! & Ginger was trailing very slowly on the way back some so she kept running back and snapping at her -as if to say - HEY! Keep up chunky girl! Ginger would then run to catch up, it's fascinating to watch. I have trained Athena well, to pee on the pads' BUT... after that walk (at least an 90 minutes) we got back to the house and she ran in and over to the peeped and peed. LOL! I did not yell at her but am starting today : PEEPEE OUTSIDE! I'm confident she will succeed in no time. I actually saw 2 mushrooms! More on mushrooms tomorrow. A few of our photos from yesterday, when Storm took Athena she barked at Jesus, not yesterday - she did go and say hello -up close, I find it very amusing she does recognize Jesus (as a human) if only on wood. I was shocked to see all the trees that toppled during that ice Storm, and Storm has spent 2 days in the wood -just cleaning the path so I could walk, many pine tree tops- ironically, I wanted some to make pine whisks' - now I can make several. I might attempt some pinecone crafts for the future, currently - there are many.. waiting to be made into something. lol

In other news... sadly, Mark Carney is the new PM. How disappointing. Because of God, the Word of God, I will accept this - as we are asked to do. I will no mock him, whatever the plan, he is on the path, the BIBLE has taught me - sometimes even KINGs fall- usually because of their own actions, we don't know why but lessons will be learned. Please, don't let the lesson be at the expense of Canada. Does it mean I think Carney will be good for Canada, NO (especially due to his WEF association) but I HOPE so - I hope I am wrong and this won't become (yet another) 'I told you so moment'.
Many Canadians are feeling distraught, hopeless... more concerned than ever about becoming the 51st state. I can't even say anymore as - it makes my stomach upset to even think of the direction we might go. I did learn something else, who I don't want to be.. like the crusty old nasty Boomer' giving the rest of Canada 2 fingers, I am against making fun of politicians children, I disagree with this. I also disagree with wanting to cause anyone bodily harm, some remarks people make are shameful, it's one thing not to like a politician - it's another to desire to cause them physical harm.
LET GOD be 'that judge. People still will judge them and plot against them... I won't be one of them.
Today, I'll move forward as we all & pray Mark Carney proves many of us wrong... time will tell.
