A craft sits on my desk waiting to be 'assembled (heeheehee like what I did there? with the Cheeky photo?). I contemplated it a bit before I started - It was easy except for - CUTTING out. Scissors are an object of frustration, to even try makes me want to throw them across the room so -I knew I had to make it simple so I could simply cut it out - with a knife... that being said - good thing I am determined because it took me a long, painful time. I did it! Yay me.
Perseverance pay off, again. I almost quit before I started but the idea of this craft amused me so - so I kept going.
A full days worth of painting, well into the evening, for a one of a kin Christmas decoration that I did NOT buy and contribute to WASTE was an accomplishment I was hoping for. Have you seen Netflix new doc on waste? Buy NOW. We all know it is a problem. I have boxes of decorations downstairs I can't be bothered digging out for a few weeks.. I don't NEED more. I have had friends(several) who decorate their tree in a different theme every year, spending hundreds. Do I like seeing decorations - yes, mostly but I know they will end up in a landfill so the thrill fades. I've noticed a retro trend this year in stores with decorations - they look like we had when little but they also LOOK CHEAP. My grandmas ornaments were glass. I have a set of handblown glass ornaments I will always cherish but I'm done with cheap plastic tacky crap. Trendy today - trash tomorrow. The best ornaments are also the ones kids make over the years.
Time to get back at this cheeky group. I'll wait until December to share, so come back & check my Cheeky Christmas greetings -step by step photos in case you want to make your own! Have a creative day!
