Daisy in with Jesus.. in more ways than one. Just the idea heals my heart.
Storm asked where do you wantDaisy buried, I replied.. Near Jesus would be nice. Meaning my Jesus in the forest, the other Jesu is obvious & I already know Daisy is there. I hav watched many NDE stories, documentaries to know Dogs are known to greet us on the other side. It's still snow covered though - the forest and we were worried that the ground would be too frozen. Strong albeit is the love of a boy & his dog. Storm was in his late teens when we got Daisy, people would often tell me they couldn't believe where they saw him walking her- how far and how long, Daisy had a great life & deserved a beautiful resting place.
Into the woods they went, Storm came back and invited me to come out, since it was so beautiful yesterday & I was glad I went.... I do NOT like the buggy/UTV, what ever you want to call it, but I got in (for Daisy) and out we went, we took Athene and Arrow ran along side. Storm was able to dig a big hole and lay Daisy init.. we said our goodbyes (again), cried -even Arrow was crying (not like her), Athena - being a kid was excited to be exploring this new area! She's only ever known snow - so leaves, branches , pinecones and dirt were all fascinating and she could hardly contain her energy, Arrow never let her out of our sight. Now I am even more excited to walk out with the girls and visit Jesus & Daisy. It was also my first time deep in the woods when there was snow, and I was taken back by the beauty! Had Daisy not died, I still might not know- what the woods looks like with snow.
When we got back it was so lovely out I was standing on the deck and Arrow brought me her ball (go figure) and I said:
"NO! Not now... ", She looked crushed. How I wished Daisy was here to bark and bark, telling me: Throw the ball! As she did only a few days before. So I apologized and threw the ball. The lessons dogs teach us, all lessons in love.
It will be a bit, I keep grabbing 5 treats- always giving the biggest to Daisy, I keep looking out the window, seeing if she is on the deck looking to come in, I kept waking ups to see an empty bed. :(. Such a day of emotions, all of which I am grateful for.. above all else I thanked God that Daisy lived the last 5 years here, in the woods going for long walks to explore and she rarely left my side as the others ran ahead... not because she was old and tired , that only starting show the past year, because she loved me. No gates, no neighbours, no fences & she NEVER once tried to go anyplace else, she knew she was loved most, right here. I'll honour Daisy today, by throwing the ball, painting & snuggling & dog kisses.
