Do you like cranberries? I do! Cranberry juice -as tart as it is, I drink usually daily. I enjoy cranberry juice with soda water and a splash of lemon & honey for a refreshing evening beverage. Cranberries are also good for you, a secret of many grandmas - if you feel anything urinary' starting to happen (men & women) drinking cranberry juice (straight) is an instant boost with many admitting - amazed - the cranberry juice worked! Yeah for nature.... God's medicine - in juice and berry form! Which leads me to this post...
A viral video on Instagram has been these cranberry treats- easy peasy & let me warn you right off the bat, I have trouble NOT eating them all, I actually had to put them away because I think they are delicious, you've been warned.
It's easy:
- take a bag of fresh cranberries and soak them in orange juice and fizzy pop ( I used ginger ale) or champagne'
- soak them overnight in the fridge, I did two nights because I was busy..
- then put them in a strainer to drain all juice off. Let sit a couple of minutes.
- toss them in a big ziplock bag in icing sugar until all well coated.
- Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet & bake them at 200 for just 5 minutes.
Let them sit for 10 minutes and enjoy.
Storm enjoyed them as well, they reminded us of those sherbet tubes that you would dip and black liquorice stick into, only tastier and good for you. So if you want a sweet healthier option than most - I recommend these, A few comments says they tasted like 'soap' and I did get the occasional one that reminded me of that purple gum we use to buy as kids that has that 'soap' taste too - remember? Thrills - lol , I googled it, you can still get them.
I liked them and will make them again and keep them in the freezer, I bet they'd be nice in the summer.
Also a tasty treat for tiny ones, a little tart but better cranberries covered in a bit of sugar than sugar covered in sugar.
On my desk - my next saw.. I think I'd like to start the new year off with a substantial work of art. lol not my usual paper painting that takes a few hours but a saw that will take more like a week. I've got 4 days to bring it into 2025! Do you have plans for 2025? I do... painting, Jesus and Peace.
With God - we can do anything & everything.
