Paint.. I have watched paint steadily increase $$ in price and decrease (as with everything) in size. A small tube of gouache can cost $30. each. and acrylic- usually more. I like good paint- who doesn't? If you use poor quality paint - it can make the work seem tedious at times. Some cheap paint lacks vibrancy, is so poor at covering it takes you 5 or 6 times to achieve the brightness.. it's great for beginners but I prefer good paint, I usually use Golden.
Every year my mom mom asks 'what do you want for your birthday?' - my reply is usually the same, forever.. "art supplies" lol. Yesterday a huge box of acrylic paint arrived! Holy Hannah! (What my mom says) I was so tired yesterday - all I could do was look at it. Storm had to open them for me - jugs! Each with -get this: A PUMP! Oh my - no more wrestling with paint tube lids! Each pump had a cap to put on so the paint does not dry out.
Beyond excited this morning! I jumped out of bed- Norm has my newest bear cut out - today I paint!!
When opening it yesterday, I got a bit on my hands - and was impressed with the colour & texture - the possibilities on wood, paper..rock- endless! This next bear is special, it's praying or rather - Giving Thanks to The Lord for another glorious day! It's going to have gold all through it, warm & full of light & love.
I've also been playing with some tiny canvas with a 'flow acrylic I was trying.. more on it soon.
Small bottles, expensive but I only used a few drops for each canvas below.
Remember: The ONLY wasted paint - is paint that stays in the tube/bottle/JUG!
Jugs of paint! No excuses! Enjoy this day The Lord has made - go create something JOYFUL!
