I still cartoon... I often find cartoon ideas or simply find myself doodling instead of writing in a journal, doodling comes easier. I read in my big comfy chair, accompanied by Poppy & Ginger which makes for a snug squeeze... while reading my bible the other morning I was thinking "I should share that with..." and it hit me - I Am, a bible thumper. lol
There are far worse things one could be. Amen.
Then I was curious, what is a Bible Thumper? After. reading a reddit post - it is as I thought. A bible thumper is/was considered a preacher who hit his Bible or slammed it on the pulpit to make a point. Then it became common for people who read and quoted from the Bible to be called Bible Thumpers- meant as a derogatory remark. Let me explain why that can't be: God & Jesus (and all others in the Bible) ask us - no, actually They demand we share the word of the Lord, in order to help each other on the journey. To help each other not fear, to serve each other so that we can alleviate suffering...
so to call someone who believes and speaks the word of God 'A Bible Thumper '- Thank you! What a compliment.
There were a few remarks - mostly from atheists that insinuate a bible thumper is: someone that hits someone over the head with the Bible if they don't understand. Yikes and heeheehee... I hope that's never happened.
Another atheist suggested a bible Thumper was someone that liked to Thump Bibles, is a sexual way.. and this proves a point - Holy cow! Perhaps with a little understanding, faith and love they might think better of others, The Bible and themselves. Who thinks like that? It's sad. It's choosing to think the worst about The holiest Book ever written ... what a messed up guess. Me realizing, I am a bible thumper made me feel good, peaceful, thankful. Not about the Bible as much as it is about my Love for The Lord, which increases each time I read it.
The cartoons above are done without even thinking, I found myself scribbling and smiling as I did, the next think I realize an hour had passed and I felt more relaxed that I had all day doing 3 things I love most! Reading the Bible, cartooning in my journal and snuggling with my girls. I'll talk with anyone about the Bible... only 'IF' they've actually read it.
I won't argue with anyone about it as that defeats the point. Anyhow - Call me a bible thumper will you!?...
Thank You!!
God Bless you - enjoy this day The Lord has made.
I'm going to make myself a T-Shirt:
