The next few months, years - will be filled with fear mongering, not for long I hope.
With the internet has come the gift of education- and finding out actually legitimate information- if you go to the source and do some research yourself... not just believe everything you read at first glance.
The longer kids can go without any drug in thier system the better, this especially goes for mind altering drugs that can change the brain forever or worse kill- no, not cannabis - the kind used to treat such illnesses like the wide spectrum of " behavioural" conditions with kids. I am not judging, I don't know- I do know there is a lot of information to try to encourage healthy kids- far too many are on pills never considered a decade earlier for children. Designed for adults.
Please stop & think.. every year countless kids are sent to emergency rooms with products we (as loving- parents) purchase for them. Some have resulted in death or serious accidents- remember lawn darts?
How many kids do you think will end up in the ER in a few weeks? From tobogganing???
Please keep things in perspective.
Have you EVER read in history - a child had died from a cannabis overdose? No.
This is not an excuse to become careless- but fear mongering kids- or adults by the media, Dr.s & those with ulterior motives are only going to cause problems, as we have witnessed in past. This reads more like Prohibition tweaked' instead of legalization... tweaked for a select few like we witnessed yesterday.
Parents, please educate yourself- there are far more dangerous items already in your home
that your kids use- for teens - it's probably the family car - what do you think has killed more? Do not fall into the hype, do not believe the lies do not treat your child like a "DRUGGIE" if you find them with cannabis... use this as a wonderful opportunity to have a conversation with your children.
Responsible, realistic conversations about drugs - especially the ones that can kill them.
