This week we are celebrating 2 birthdays! Poppy and the day I brought her home, according to the blog was August 5 in 2013 - she is 11! Chairman Meow', acording to his paper work was born on August 8th - so lots of healthy treats this week. Extra snuggles and pats too, not that is ever not a thing. I'm also painting both - go figure. lol
I'm sure anyone who visits here' is aware of my enduring love for Poppy is no secret! I love all my dogs but Poppy is my Princess, my tiniest bundle of love & consistent joy. My constant companion & shadow follows me to every room, especially the bedroom where he have serious snuggling. I can see a hint of cloud in her eyes and noticed she likes to linger in bed a little longer. I try not to think of her aging as it is difficult to imagine life without her, so I don't, instead I giver countless kisses. Chairman Meow comes in my room every night and morning , jumps up on me while I'm in be and literally throws both his arms & paws around my neck for a big hug & kisses (licks that are somewhat abrasive) and hug he does! He doesn't like his photo taken, trust me - I've tried. Now when Arrow sees him venturing into the forest at all - she chases him furiously back onto the 'lawn', they have a unique bond and play more each day.
Poppy is getting a bath and a huge chunk of my steak dinner, she's sit and sniff her bone until all the other dogs notice before she enjoys it. She's getting a bath today, a luxurious towel dry, some homemade cookies and extra (if possible) attention! Chairman will be also getting some steak (he eats everything the dogs eat), a brushing and longer hugging time.
Thank you Lord for creatures you have sent my way - I have love each and every one & will continue to do so. Dogs and cats are shown to reduce anxiety and even help with depression. It's hard for me to be depressed or cry, if I do I'm suddenly surrounded with 4 dogs wondering what's going on with mom!? Slobbering me with kisses and bringing me a ball to distract. 'Dog is God' backwards, coincidence? I think not. God knows what He is doing when he sends us these loving creatures.
Blessed are you God! Creator of the universe & dogs & cats & every living creature - except mosquitos.
Thank you.
