Big bear and little bear. Quite the adorable pair!
One holds T lights the other matches & the 'striker' is under it's mushroom cap'.
Old jars.. new life! From Junk to Joy! I'm telling you they look very sweet on my kitchen table.
I pushed myself to 'clay' and it made my day. Pain - what pain!? Look at these bears. lol. That's all that matters.
I think I'll make a few little match jars for a select few for Christmas. For the nice.. not naughty.
You know.. I had this clay a few months and talked myself out of it, too many times to mention. I don't have the dexterity in my hands but there are tools you can use and patience will go a long way & determination - now I know I can clay and am excited to make a few more. You won't know unless you try. Arthritis is not an excuse to stop doing the things you love, because I painted through the pain - it never stopped me from painting & I learned how to hold my brushes different ways. The most difficulty I have (ridiculous as it seems) is opening and closing the paint tubes! If you don't close them properly, they dry. Georgia O'Keefe, at the end of her days had an assistant to do just that- put paint on her pallet for her. If only - dogs had opposable thumbs, I'd be set!
The new issue of Druthers is available in shops and online for you to read! The more you know, the better prepared you can be.. the more informed the better choices you'll make, for you and your family.
It's promising to be a lovely weekend, 25 today! We found a bunch of puffballs on the trail, I'm going to pick and sautés, later today! Storm took me and the leaf blower to the woods to find my phone (lol - nope) and discovered mushrooms instead- it was amusing. Have you ever watched leaf blowing - it's like watching the ocean waves, only leaves. There's beauty in everything if you choose to see it, I found it mesmerizing. We laughed, foraging on a new level.
I've sketched different clay jar ideas, so far I have a fox, stump, cat, a raccoon... the possibilities are endless!
What will you create today? As always I like to remind people God asks of us - daily - each days a new day to be born again -enjoy the day you've been given, thousands will not wake up today to continue the adventure. Make the most of it!
Get out and realign yourself in nature, sit under a tree & absorb the sunshine and warmth as we all know what coming!
Don't let anything stop you from creating - try - remind yourself, what you are capable of.
