A basket full of love. I went out yesterday to visit Jesus, I often have a basket to collect mushrooms, carry supplies and collect pine cones -they make great kindling to start winter fires. It was not just warm but hot, we sat with Jesus for about an hour, I had a lot to discuss... any how on the way back I put my basket down to pick up pine cones and Poppy decided to rest. The past few days she's not felt good, I think a little constipated and she's been getting me to lift her up onto the sofa, which I never mind doing. Anyhow, she was content to just sit in the basket and soak up the sun, the other girls were all jealous, Ginger wanted in and I laughed and thought 'NO way, chubby girl - you need to walk.
When we continued on Poppy walked too, a little slower than usual so we waited, her tiny tail wagging as she sniffed along. Sniffing is important to dogs so I let them linger, usually. Anyhow, I love this tiny beast, I will carry her and chew her food and do what ever it takes to keep her by my side for as long as possible.
If you are lucky in this lifetime to have a dog like Poppy - Thank the Lord.
I've been blessed with many amazing dogs and cats & I am forever grateful.
