Chilling on the deck the last days of summer.
It's back to school today for kids all over Canada... it's a different school year, different school. I can see some positive coming from covid! OUTdoor classes! YAY! Imagine all the tiny mycologists that will be created. Outdoor classes wil be more fun with schooos with trees & things- this might also encourage a new trend! Planting trees back in school yards! Vegetable gardens! The possibilities are plentyful.
School supplies- no sharing. Remember when we were kids we were proviced with our supplies! A pencil pencil case, bic pen, erraser, ruler and notebooks- NOone was left behind - we all had our own supplies- perhaps this will make sure each student again has his or her own supplies, wouldn't that be nice... all kids to feel equal.
Will some have neat fancy masks with cartoon characters? And other masks - provided by the school? That could cause problems. How will the bus ride go? Are chldren suddenly going to behave... now that they wear masks? Sounds too good to be true. Positive thinking? High hopes?
I'm sure anxiety levels are much higher this year than the past- I don't even want to joke. I was going to draw a kid in a space suit.. but I'd rather just send positive thoughts to the universe in hopes that they have a fantastic first day & school year - covid or not. School is difficult, making friends is difficult.. trying to fit in is difficult. Maybe this mask thing will make all appear equal - now that would be impressive.
I don't know how it will go, how the fall & cold will change the rules.. time will tell. I hope everyone is focusing on the kids and being extra careful this 2020 school year. I'll focus on my new paintingthis lovely fall day. Up before the chickens! YAY!
