If you follow this blog you read of one time in particular I had a huge 'blow out' with a long time pal over cannabis.. it was Kat.  We did not speak for over a year afterwards- maybe two..  lol
I said to her way back when.. about 8 years ago: Cannabis will be legal, everyone will grow it and we will see it in our lifetime!!"  to which she replied" Yeah, when Pigs fly!!" I remember because I came home and drew a pig tied to  a string with wings.   

Kat and I are still friends, (30 years+ later) better friends.  Kats been educated on cannabis the past few years and is singing a new tune as are thousands and thousands more will follow as Cannabis is legalized in Canada.  Thank God.

Celebrating Lost Loved ones. Or 'Overdose Canada' on FB 
I went and looked and start to cry, all the beautiful lives- the stories mainly the same: died from a drug overdose after she was addicted to pain killers from a soccer accident.  
SIMPLE every day people, hurting themselves playing games, working around the home - NOT drug users- become hooked on PAIN pills.  FEATHERS!!!   

Kat recently framed my favourite BEARS for me, now hanging above my desk so I can look and dream as often as possible. Kat has sold her gallery and is moving to Montreal - so, I guess I'll be visiting Montreal!  hee hee..  She will continue to frame my work as she will still keep it as a 'side hobby' - I'm thrilled because she does splendid work!  I'm sure we will still have our differences - it's what good friends do.  EVEN if you need a couple of years break in between..  so here is it..  
Look up!  What do you see? Any Pigs yet?

When Pigs fly.. o.k.  - we might not see pigs for a while but next summer I anticipate a lot more gardens with cannabis in them- what will happen??!!! -  Will Crime will increase? Hardly.   It will become normal, a nice 'safer high' from a plant and you won't end up on the overdoes map. Guaranteed.  THANK GOD.

P.S. this pig was a gift for 'Olive' - a FB fan who knitted & sent me 'TWO pink pussy hats', so I will be ready with a friend- or Storm (LOL!!)  in our Pink Pussy hats - on the next MARCH!  MEOW!! - lol 

As you know I draw & send cards..  they make me SMILE,  Perhaps you have received one..
I painted a card titled: "the Dr. said.." & pondered.
I worked on a NEW really nice quality  'water color paper sketchbook '- 'it feels sensational   to sketch in'..  each painting is a mini story which unfolds as the reader glances slowly across the page and is captivated then flabbergasted!    lol
Storm sure was.  You will see the first but not all of them, not the complete second!
I'll save it for a select few.  It made me laugh out loud when I painted it & Storm just shook his head - lol!  You see a hint below to understand 'where I am going with it.'  You might not know what I was thinking about...  I was thinking about 'cavemen & evolution', to be honest.

It's my new 'wrap your head around shit book' & think about what MAKES ME happy book
- or not -  paint it out book- one side a little more serious than the other or not.. lol 
I have been incredibly creative 'Dorothy, 4/20 art, a couple of single panel editorial cartoons 
thinking about President Trump, I actually feel concerned for him, he is on a downward spiral, I don't  understand impeachment, but it does not read well.  They must all be under a sensational amount of stress & then I remind myself- it does not matter - What control do we have over  it?   At the moment it's important I get back to thinking about things that make us SMILE - I'm on an old MOVIE kick- Dorothy- I'll show you her soon * & what triggered the idea.

Do you have movie that can make you laugh out loud guaranteed, several times?   I do.
I rented it and watched it 3 times on netflix the other day. I    LOL every time, it's a musical with dance numbers! A classic - a hint - I LOVE Gene Kelly - I've blogged about him before - he is by far the Cream of the Crop imo & what a man.
Looks, talent- drive, creativity, persistence,  charm, wit - hard to feathering find now a days!
I'm not sure he exists.  I know he does not... not my 'complete version' - I never knew him,  'the man' personally so I'm not aware of his flaws.  Are you?  Who cares  - That ass!    lol 
I'm painting some really  inspired work - I don't want to ruin the surprise! 

Tomorrow- 4/20 almost! -  With Cannabis becoming legal and ALL being able to grow it,  it reminds me of when I remarked to a good friend (Kat) a while back - "Cannabis will be legal & all will grow it & we will see it in our life time!"

    How many moms can say they were given a custom dabber for mothers day!?
& IT IS PERFECT! LOL    If I do say so  myself. It was given to me early so I could use it right away!   Isn't it PERFECT? It feels good in my hand.
A painters dabber & 'carb cap, VanGogh would approve.  I love it  not just because it was a gift from Storm.  It was made by one of his long time friends Sam - who also gave me  my nug pendant!  Sam is a young glass artist  with a passion for cannabis nuggets,  His gold plated NUGGETS are very cool I must admit!  I ALWAYS knew Sam was going to be 'artsy' & encouraged him,  I have over the years had several 'Talks with him "mom stuff" and recently Artist advice- things I've learned and if I can help him learn easier than I did- I will. I've even lectured him on his instagram posts! LOL!  
Sam is a good kid, I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to see him 'go this direction.
'starving artist still' lol,  hungry & that's good - he is constantly creating and I believe he is someone to watch, perhaps even pick up a piece while it's still affordable. 
YES I was blown away when I saw my gift! I said "Oh! LET'S DAB!!"
Now, I need a dabbing rig!
I was going to try to wait to mothers day but I had to share.
I love my boys.  It was thoughtful and I am deeply touched.

I am very proud of Sam and can't wait to see how he will progress and be right up there with the best!  Jerry Kelly, Stephen, Tara,  David  - I've discovered a few new artists I follow on Instagram also.  I've been introducing them for years to Sam!!

BTW- Did you know Stephen & his wife & dogs (love them) hike and he hides his marbles!!  For anyone to find! Oh my gosh.. I'm getting a Donkey to hike the hills.  
I AM blessed to have one on my desk - looking a time now. 

My friend, Martin of ROOR tells me this week he is planning a 'Phantastic glass blowing demonstration in Vienna in September!  I'm looking into 'Milan in September so we shall see.  Glass art is ART, please support artists especially those just starting out.

A *dabber -the paintbrush- is what you use  to put your dab of  'oil  -concentrated cannabis into the heated bowl of the bong to enhale.  The 'golden piece - which looks like toffee/glass you see in the photo is a 'dab'.
A bong  requires a special bowl piece that tolerates high temperatures. 
Carb Cap - the paint pallet- you place over the bowl so all the dab can be inhaled  properly. 

Dabs... o.k. -  when I'm having an especially difficult day & cannabis is just not enough, I will dab. I do not dab daily, simply because dabbing has the tendency to  make me sleep more.  I believe my body is telling what to do and Im listening.   I do smoke  cannabis daily ALL day- it does not interfere with my daily activities.

Do you know what has killed and continues to hurt countless children daily... from allergies to choking  to  childhood obesity - at an all time HIGH.   Know the facts.

Too bad because they are awesome- Storm still gets a Large one every year.

SHOW me when & where Cannabis alone has been responsible  for killing a child.  PROVE me wrong.  
I'm having trouble finding definitive PROOF it damages young brains, like we read from some "so called expert' .  
Can you find absolute proof related to cannabis  causing brain damage?
If so please share it with me.    

I am not tring to  make light of cannabis  - it shouldn't be used by children unless seriously ill - Fear mongering and lies will hurt your children more mentally & possibly even physically in the long term.

Remember my trip to the museum with my son?  ;) 
I do, I think of it fondly & often.  It was a wonderful day full of ART & artifacts, birds, rocks, drugs (shaman's tools) - it was amusing, entertaining & enlightening!
WELL worth a visit!!
It was the Canadian Artist I remembered to research much later though, Rex Woods in particular &  it is how I came across the ‘beaver art - It inspired me on countless levels. 
Think about what it stood for.    It was one of those ‘Pokes from God’  literally I was working on a different cartoon idea when - ZAP, and the new idea wanted to be drawn first - lol -  it’c called INSPIRATION'.  A good way on this Good Friday for me to think of it.

*I believed when I drew it,  Canada would allow for  small privately owned and operated dispensaries. What happened to the Canadian Dream or as adults and allowing us FREEDOM of expression & to  make our own choices in this country?

I miss the days of  working at small privately owned galleries in Canadian snowstorms…  lol. I would walk around and look at every tiny detail for hours on end, then read magazines, write (no cell phones then) my friends letters- hee hee.
We all have great memories  ‘Growing up Canadian' in country as young as ours.
 
                            Canada is 150 year old this year - so much news.. 
Don’t assume, I’m not thinking of http://www.warmuseum.ca/the-battle-of-vimy-ridge/ missing my dad, thinking of other  family I am missing this time of year. 
I am actually thinking more of who is still here - like my own son, young family  & many others like:  Avery, Mia, Jack, Lilly, Hudson, Tom, Sam, Mike, Ashley, Tim, Lori, Taylor, Sophia, Jackson, Emma, Liam, Adam & Eve - ARE you getting my point?  

What next?  & IF you can’t have a cannabis bake shop - then what is to prevent ALL privately, small owned bake shops for all the same reasons? Home day cares - adios, small Pizza shops- chow Bello, retailers..  you can NOT discriminate against one and not the other. Not one small business is safe,  how many have we already lost to major retailers?

Hotdogs & trampolines  killed more CHILDREN than cannabis ever has.   Prove me wrong.  Do you understand my point?  

Next will it be: ONLY  'these brands may sell in our major chains..'  sigh.
 If you're going to kill this country then at least do it slowly.     Frig

I wrote before - BIG LP's will probably win in the end anyway, as most will flock to them simply out of ease & they have bigger advertising dollars. At lest  people had an opportunity to  try.  There are so many talented  Canadians who deserve an opportunity to be  in this INDUSTRY.

Cananbis is an industry like every other & the hardest working in it have been the growers.  I have witnessed it first hand many times. IF not for them, we would not be having this conversation.  There goes 'our farmers again..  '
Not to mention other not Canadian owned companies will be making a lot of money.

What is next?

NOT ALL who are rich are wrong or evil - far from it, we’ve been blessed to meet all sorts on this journey- although not wide my ‘variety’ of friends has been - everyone is the same - no matter  the pocket books.  Nice people &  not very nice people (imo).  Money usually had little to do with it.  This is more about profit at the moment than keeping just out of the criminals hands.  ‘       Which Criminals’ are we  talking about here? 
No wonder our LCBO wants a part.  It is the biggest 'booze monopoly' in the world.  I had no idea... correct me if I am wrong- I heard that on a pod cast the other evening.  

BTW my love, appreciation for respect for Justin Trudeau has not wavered, I know he is educated on cannabis & is far more concerned with people than plants at the moment.
As should WE ALL BE.  
I STILL have faith in the Canadian PEOPLE to:
         KEEP ALL Canadians  BUSY

 demand  what is right for ALL Canadians!  Not just the Cannabis educated Canadians, ALL Canadians  - For Generations to come - wether you grow or no.  Consume or no.

I am all for removing impaired drivers from the road. I knew someone who died directly due to a 'drunk' driver. 
This is NOT just about 'concerns for impaired drivers... If they insist on testing for cannabis- fine, as long as you test for ALL drugs and charge for ALL drugs in the system- if they are causing the driver to be impaired. *Including prescribed medications. 
You know, the kind that says: DO NOT operate heavy machinery' on the bottles- which thousands TAKE and DRIVE with every single day. The kind that can kill you too.. unlike cannabis.

Fear mongering at it's finest.
How many people drive with prescribed pain medications in their system, get into accidents and it is not even permitted in a court case? Rules must apply to ALL.  
There will be far less drivers on the road if this where the case.
If police are going to try to only insist (discriminate against) cannabis consumers.. it will not hold up in court.
MORE MONEY wasted - here we come. ;(
Know your human rights and DO not focus on the FEAR.

Why are micro breweries and make your own wine shops all over.

How do some people sleep at night? 
Very comfortable in their money stuffed mattresses, no doubts.

It's Buds Bunny! Jumping for JOY! Cannabis is here end it's time to celebrate and ENJOY  all the benefits that follow!  When I was working on the coloring sheet  thinking about one of my favourite pastimes as a kid - Jumping jacks - Who was not fascinated by these technical marvels that could dance with the pull of one string?

Who in Canada- or  USA has not at one point given a little tug?
Especially as little tykes? What could I offer to bring as much 'Tickle me Green Giggles'?
BUDS BUNNY & He is FREE. 

Debating on 'Printable downloads' as a source of income, amongst others opportunities BUDS Bunny hopped right onto my drawing desk- the next thing I knew  'He was going to be a toy that could be printed this EASTER for every adult who wants- for every kid they want - Kid of any age. When it comes to jumping jacks I can not resist!

Bugs Bunny is  in color for those that want to make and use without putting much thought. Being the visual person I am, it was much easier for me to put it all in step by step photos for assembly AS you see Below.  The paper I use to paint him on was water color paper - stronger than most. 140lb.
I HIGHLY recommend before you do anything,  YOU take the following simple step:

Print your bunny on good paper - then GLUE the entire sheet on the back (smooth out the glue with a credit card so the entire sheet is covered ) * or use spray adhesive, and place it on a stronger piece of cardboard- recycle an old cereal box.  Use the 'blank side' out so you have a nice "clean back to write a note on the back of your Buds bunny- Do not forget the day you created this masterpiece - so future generations will enjoy your hard work.  
Once DRY follow the steps.

You will need:
Glue *for above step*  IF printing on a CARD stock quality paper - you might not need this step.
Scissors
A standard hole punch 
4 brass brackets - available at a craft store.
Needle & hempstring or strong thread.
Nimble fngers to tie knots...lol
1 BEAD or something with 'Weight' to tie on the bottom  *see examples below
Patience 

Follow the steps below and then.. Jump for Joy as Buds Bunny knows the healing powers of cannabis- BTW- just incase your bunny doesn't have his 3rd eye open- you can cut out the little flower and place it  over... for now.. lol  

PLEASE, if you have the opportunity, take the time to explain to little ones about the plant.
That's all the first step need be.. 

Educate them:  They should NEVER touch or eat any PLANT OR Mushroom
unless they KNOW what it is. There are far more poisonous and deadly plants in the wild  than the cannabis on your counter.  Fact.

          'Upper Canada Cannabis Company!' I loved it the moment I heard the name.
When I heard  the concept was 'ALL Canadian', Canadian nature inspired by true nature lovers - with photos to prove it.  Although, I am aware of the Canadian Wilderness- it's always nice to see the  'one special place' the person you are working for has in mind.  Guaranteed it will not be the same place as mine. If I had to share a photo it would be that day Storm and I...  Oooopppps! I almost gave it away!  

You'll know it - hee hee,  I'll post my painting with the real photo- because I can (lol) I must  have 'everything approved.'   All creative ideas are a GO! - I sketch- we talk - perhaps just a bit tweaked and then my work must be  accepted.  Sounds fantastic to me.

Blogging- it is my communication with the outside world & sharing my paintings seems to inspire a few especially the direction this is going.  If I'm working for someone else - I won't have time for what I want but I can paint Canada & Nature all the time & still have time to squeeze in my own work. It won't be shared  fully on other social media due to  licensing & property theft.   UpperCanadaCannabisCo can share.

The UCCC Logo is what was asked of me..  I must admit - it was pretty descriptive - the initial concept had nothing to do with me -  The visual you see was what I created from  a  superb description.  The stars request  came later - thrilled the Universe encouraged my stars!

I'm already working on a T-shirt for 4/20 and it is VERY Canadian'- I'll explain why in an upcoming blog- It really has me thinking.  'HOW true. ' It's time. 
& we ALL  have more serious issues to ponder.  
I know our Prime Minister does. 

Painting has me giggling (as it always does)... more music, more close friends & tea -I love a good tea.   More paint,  more crock pot meals. LOL  Storms never home it seems.  Good! I'm thrilled to see him enjoying himself so much. 

It's time to start painting on this beautiful canadian Morning.
