Another year here. As you get older & the reality of losing friends hits harder.. I appreciate I'm still here & that many I care for are all still here - by the Grace of God. I get to paint, enjoy nature the dogs and all of Gods blessings. Too many are not here, I miss them - so yes, I am thankful. Thankful too I have a son who spoils me and cooked me what ever I asked for Eggs Benedict, how I spoil myself at breakfast. Not a treat I have too often albeit I will more now, now that I know he can make it this perfect! Steak & his speciality mashed potatoes which came with fresh beets and a goat cheese salad. Seriously, why would I (or anyone) want to go to a restaurant when my son cooks like this? Not to mention what a meal like this would cost currently. Encourage YOUR KIDS to learn how to COOK!!! It's fantastic I tell you, to have a son who loves to cook and does cook most meals better than I do, not just for my birthday, he cooks regularly... & does the dishes too. lol Thank you Lord!
I painted all day. Painting my bear & I'm at the detail stage, hundreds of tiny hair & sunlight to be added! I decided to paint Jesus too - actually, it was done a while back but I wanted to change the background & thrilled I did but as I was painting, Norm decided it was time to clean Larry's tank and I ended up with him at my desk, so I let him do what he does (for over 25 years NOW!!!) - climb up behind and hide out on my neck. Well, I got into painting - caught up in the moment and thought 'Oh! Where's Larry?!? I could not feel him on my neck! I ran into the living room and shouted to Storm & Norm "Larry fell off! Help me find him (before Athene)! " Storm ran over "Are you serious mom?!"
"YES!!" So we start looking on the floor, dog bed, under the dresser, under my desk, under the sofa - where's Athene??
Then, Norm yells out: He's on your back!
Storm flipped me around and started laughing, Larry was clinging on for dear life, on my back. Hahahaha. Whew. Thank Goodness or it wold have ruined my birthday, had something happened to my tiniest pal... least stressful, quietest, easiest to care for best Gecko ever. It also made me think of that chihuahua stuck in the ladies crack cartoon, heehee.
It was a wonderful day, the snow was melting lol - today is' super foggy. -I LOVE looking at it. Below, In the Garden, Growing Gods medicine with a Chickadee. New background and Ill add a few HIGHlites in the bud after I finish my bear. For Easter I am painting a new Jesus in the Garden, I've been planning it in my mind and am excited to honour my Lord again, with paint. Spend time with Jesus and Jesus will spend time with you.
