Check out the children's bible... notice anything?
I have several bibles but have never had a children's bible, it reads more like a story but stays very close to the bible. I noticed something right away.. this bible celebrates all Gods creatures! Including the raptor & wooly mammoth! heehee. About time. I love it!
There is a quote: teach your children to believe in something or they will believe in anything, many kids have no clue about Jesus or the bible and the parents are to blame. My mom did not introduce me but luckily my grandmas did..
Growing up I was not encouraged, other than making my first communion to even consider God. This is why I am a firm believer - when God wants you to know God, you will. No one can convince you, it's a relationship you must discover and nourish on your own.. of your own free will. I love this children's bible for all the creative work, I did giggle when I saw (Storm pointed it out first) Jesu as a handsome blond, standing out from all the rest. Jesus would want to appear anyway that brings you closer. That's why Jesus is in each of us.
We have learned so much these past few years about history, lies, cover ups and plain ignorance has uncovered new truths. The bible is more fact than fiction and a very useful tool - the ultimate text book for life lessons. I am amused when people use the excuse: God hates gays (one example)... show me! Where does it state this? Where does it say this about Jesus feeling this way.. it doesn't. God isn't thrilled with homosexuality - my guess, it is because it does not allow for creation - why we were put here: to create & multiply. Still - It's all a choice we make and truly - God dislikes gossips just as much. If you feel you were born in the wrong body - then tell that truth, we are told to tell the truth. That actually is 1 of 10 commandments, do you know what is not a commandment - Do not be gay.
Be who God has meant you to be - a good human! Nothing else matters, not sex, nationality.. be a kind human.
At least provide your child with the option to know God, this sort of book is a fine example, amazing art, an engaging story full of action, adventure 7 life lessons we can all benefit from. Kids need direction, positive direction - loving direction & JESUS is the way.. not just one way.. the only & best way.
There is a horrible story in the news in Ontario, a child (8 year old girl) so brutally attacked, it was first speculated she was attacked by a wild animal (possibly a bear).. it turns out a 17 year old boy has been arrested, WTF... this poor child, sexually attacked and beaten so badly - it was thought to be a wild animal!? Do you think the kid who did it knows God. Do you think he was ever taught about love, kindness... If I had to guess - no. I hope he goes to jail for the rest of his life. God can forgive him, many here, won't. I don't claim to understand Gods will in these cases.. but the devil did it, not God.
The evil in him & lack of control, 17... he knew what he was doing, I pray she heals and he suffers for his actions.
The best gift I was given was the gift of knowledge and curiosity to seek, find & know God, a relationship that I choose to work on daily... not for anyone other than my own peace & desire. I create to show the creator I am grateful!
