I am finally getting around to re-arranging my office today - Chalk board going up. I need a place to  go and write and think.

Cartoons don't always come easy and I need someplace to  'jot', I love chalk boards, I am not sure if it is an age related thing but I prefer it over a white board any day.
While moving and arranging - it's never so simple as hanging a chalk board.. says Norm under hushed breath.
I found some cartoons when I first decided this is what I was going to do! Before Cannabis was in our lives. Almost 10 years old this cartoon and what a difference! You can see it in every aspect of the cartoon from the lines, boxes and color- I have progressed. When I drew the above cartoon I remember thinking: I love this one! It is one of my best so far.
Now, I look at cartoons from today and I think - wow, what a difference!
I have improved quite a bit!
Why am I posting or sharing this- because like everything you must keep at it!
No excuses. Are you doing what you love?
Then to be true to your passion and person you should be doing it every day!
EVEN though it is a love - it still needs to be nurtured, worked at, and evolved.
Nothing stays the same. Thank  goodness!

All who practice faithfully what they love- will become  better at it. It can't be helped!
I am watching a few younger people on FB - artists, I try to encourage them, I understand what a difference a few positive words can make,  what I don't do is baby them. I hear excuses- 'I don't have the right computer program', 'I'm waiting till I can get a stilus pen',
'I don't have the right markers',' I can't find the time...'
BULLSHIT
What the heck does that have to do with you being an artist??
All excuses.  Time -I have a sketch book in my bathroom.
MAKE time. Waiting in line - got an idea in my mini pad in my back pocket.
All you need is paper and a pencil.

I wish I would not have made so many excuses. I would be a better artist than I am today.
Oh well, now I know!
Know what?  Tomorrow I will be a better artist than I was today.  Time to draw!
Another oldie below - Wow the difference is amazing.
xox Practice what you love and the rest will follow!
