Reading about all the politicians that admit to smoking cannabis - is awesome!
Woot woot!  Time to come out of the cannabis closet.
BUT, at the same time I can’t help but think... well Cannabis has ‘always been illegal’ even if you only did it 35 years ago, and yes you were younger BUT so what!

It was illegal (still is to most ) and I bet it was far less that 35 years for many.
So to sit in office and judge others, punish others for something you HAVE done it the epitome of Hypocrisy

Part of me thinks, WHO cares?  Who - the average Joe that has lost his job and family for doing the exact same thing, that is WHO.  The AVERAGE person who has been  deemed a criminal for exactly the same thing and if your black and in America , and NOT obama - well chances are you have even gone to jail for  taking a few tokes.

It has effects millions  with a criminal record, that can ruin many a future.

HOW can anyone sit back and continue to watch what is happening, (anyone in political power) and go along with it?  They have other things to focus on - if you can not treat people the same on a basic level than forget the rest.

So, as much as I am thrilled, the more that admit the more people will understand that it is nothing but a waste of time and tax payers money to keep prohibition on Cannabis  illegal. How many more will come out of the woodwork and admit to Cannabis use.?WHO CARES. DO the right thing! If you have smoked it in the past admit it, teach your children and admit that it never ruined your life or fried your brain - look at all the politicians!  Hmmm.. might not want to make that compassion ;).

Decriminalize it. < What I wish for.
Legalize it. - < what I see happening - so the government can still make $$$
END the lies.

A few more names you might know... that HAVE admitted to Cannabis use..

 Today is a new day.
I was gifted Friday a book, and read it already. I loved it.  Although, I do feel the he, E. Alexander M.D. forgot about us 'not so medically inclined',  I was dumb struck a few times.  LOL
Hey, we can't all be brain surgeons.
I was hesitant to read it because of the brain issues (frightened, a better word) but glad I did.  My faith is strong and I already believe in heaven. I believe there is more to us than this. We are all better than this <3.  I BELIEVE in GOOD and God.
In a world full of temptation/lies/greed/pain it is hard to focus always on the good.
I too know that pain and fear bring out the worst in people and I am NO exception.
I am thankful for those around me that love me enough to remember that. ;)
Still, a few times "Proof Of Heaven!"  hit too close to home.
Thinking of it now I tear up. <3 that poem.
He says he is meant to write that book and I feel I was meant to read it.
That is what it is all about. Helping each other.
I am glad I read it, not for proof of heaven but reminder that we are all ONE.
ONE LOVE ❤
It inspired the toon! At first I was just going to draw pills and cannabis, and then I was poked in the head to be reminded of the Bigger picture!!!  :)
I am pulling back, looking in praying/meditation and DRAWING. Amen!
Enjoying my newly painted & clean (LOL - how long it will stay that way, time will tell.) kitchen - I have sunshine indoors all the time! I LOVE IT! That and my guys and girls...
Good Vibes always appreciated!

About this article...
please read before you continue ;)
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/11/bobby-orr-angered-mactier-arena-could-become-medical-marijuana-facility

I have no idea who the Growing company is and clearly everyone knows how I feel about growing medical CANNABIS   but...
I agree with Bobby.

The second I read it - 'I Got it' - smart actually, an empty arena! A great place to grow Cannabis, big, open, cool, truck backs up to doors. Sounds like a perfect location from all I have seen on the huge scale grows - In many magazines & ONLINE - research it.

There are many empty factories, warehouses possibly even arenas already shut down.
The kids in small towns hardly have enough to occupy them as it is! We need to keep them busy with physical activity, as obesity is the number one killer in the USA and sadly we seem to be falling behind, too close for comfort in my opinion.

Shutting down an 'active' arena to grow Cannabis?
I am sure it would also be a great investment for the town, wonderful, well paying jobs, too many are out of work and need it.  Most importantly - Quality medical cannabis for those who are sick and NEED it! YAY  I am sure several members of the community in question, are already benefiting from Medical Cannabis.
So imagine my heart, torn over this article.

Let me also clarify some ‘fear mongering’ going on -
“They are going to haul the marijuana out of the old arena right past the kids in the school across the street and right through the downtown?”
PLEASE...
This is a huge industry people - WAKE UP!
I have no doubts that it would be run professionally with proper ventilation, security and the Cannabis would not even be detected if not for this article. Much like a truck backs up to the doors of every Walmart and drops off boxes - you have no idea what is inside until you  open the box or see the product  on a shelf.  It is the same way with medical Cannabis.
So - lets stop that nonsense right now.
I also hope Bobby drops the 'I wonder what they were smoking' when they made this decision attitude. That is just a lack of disrespect for those that use Medical Cannabis.
Not a very considerate or compassionate opinion for ALL involved.

This fear mongering with Cannabis in general has to stop. It is a legally recognized medicine in this beautiful country of ours and it is recognized around the world as a very successful medication helping many. People should be demanding from their Doctors the right to use Cannabis over the more toxic opiates. Our body our choice.
If you don't agree with this you better think long and hard. Over 16,000 deaths a year from PRESCRIBED opiates. SIMPLE. No deaths from Cannabis.

Please... - Kids have it hard enough. They watch too much TV and deal with social media on a level proving to be turning out a generation of shallow, uneducated beings.
http://www.examiner.com/article/too-much-technology-for-kids-is-bad-for-development-says-new-study
and...
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-jim-taylor/technology-and-kids_b_2232502.html

Yikes. Kids need to keep active and no arena should be shut down for any reason. The same goes with Libraries and pools.  I'm proud my town opened a complex for kids. The ROC.
BUT if it was struggling - I think it would be an awesome idea to boost a local economy &  opportunity to educate the town and children on medical cannabis. I am sure this is why they have even considered it in the first place.

Its Not All One Love, But We’re Looking For One Thing

Today's hero is Miguel.  We are friends on FB and I have come across the 'Weed Blog' once in a while and enjoy reading.
I do let people use my cartoons for newsletters, web pages, etc and feel grateful that they feel my cartoons compliment their words.  The above toon was in the following blog:
xox G

My name is Miguel. I figured I should introduce myself as an adult that shouldn’t need to be in hiding since I am not a criminal.

Now that two states have “legalized” marijuana, I feel no safer today than I did before (even though I live in one of those states). I do feel rest assured that my peers here are tolerant of a certain lifestyle choice. I feel no safer since I could still be a victim of circumstance just like what happened to me in Wyoming.

Whenever I advocate for marijuana rights, I hate being considered an activist; to me it’s just plain common sense. When one inquires about the many travesties in life, alcohol can be found to be part the root cause, and that’s legal!

Instead of an activist, I would like to consider myself more of a realist. We are not going to feed all the starving, nor fix any other fu**ed up scenario that is a cause, but we can end a failed drug war that has real casualties and implications on millions of American lives. As a realist, I believe we won’t end racism, but we can sure dull its sharp sting by eradicating laws based off of racial propaganda that now affects all. I am not an activist; I’m a father, a husband, and son – A friend, a neighbor, a co-worker, an object of affection, a god damn fu**ing American citizen.

As an American, it’s a shame that we have to fear our fellow countrymen; this can be undercover cops and/or bitter douche bags with vendettas. Not everyone is against marijuana; as a matter of fact, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Marijuana crosses all boundaries; race, economic, and health condition – marijuana is medicine, it doesn’t just help fight major disease but also tummy aches and insomnia, different strains for different folks.

I don’t promote smoking and driving (which was what happened in my case), but I do promote cannabis and all I’m saying is there is a potential for somebody to get stopped for bogus reasons, and if said person happens to have a stinking pound in their trunk than there is probable cause. It’s unfortunate that hard drugs don’t emit the order pot does, that law enforcement officials feel they are doing the community a service by arresting cannabis users.

We’ve come along so far in my lifetime; more than I thought was even imaginable due to my distrust and lack of faith in the system, but medical marijuana has turned that around. Some activists want to polarize the issue by rejecting medical marijuana, but the truth is medical marijuana has created the conversation along with providing statistical support that the zombie apocalypse does not occur due to safe legal access to marijuana, it’s as simple as that.

I started writing this with one thing in mind “What is the cause or movement?”- We each have our own term. Isn’t it the same one that’s been going on for years since the 60′s? It just seems disconnected to me these days. Early on it was the likes of Keith Stroup, Tom Forcade, Steve Hager, and Jack Herer that started the question “Why is marijuana illegal?” They are the original voices for the legalization of marijuana, but legalizing marijuana means more than smoking a joint and buying Cheetos. Its freedom vs. incarceration, its grants and scholarships vs. ineligible, its innocent vs. not guilty, crime vs. a night cap, the war on drugs has done more harm than good.

The legalization of marijuana is choosing nature while still agreeing with science, morality, and capitalism. It’s the integration of the free market with democracy, if done right. How many things in life that you know of that marijuana is the root cause of destruction? Accidents and bad nightlife choices are mostly alcohol induce (not saying stoners don’t do stupid shit) but statistically marijuana isn’t that bad and once legalized and legitimized, it might not even be a concern. When there’s no temptation, generally there’s no abuse that’s why Germany has a lower alcoholism rate and Amsterdam a lower drug use rate.

Early in our American history during the civil rights era, many groups popped up supporting the individuals being wronged with legal and financial support, the only thing I see going on these days in support of marijuana front-line soldiers are law suits. I saw such a thing here in Washington when the City of Kent voted on a moratorium, Steve Sarich served the council papers stating the council was going against the will of Washington State voters. Now this is all well and good but to me this didn’t help the dispensary owners at the time.

Dispensary owners aren’t the only ones fighting alone. On my travels I met the owner of a head shop known as The Grateful Shed in Bozeman, Mt. When Montana first embarked on their medical journey the feds were hot to imprison and close all that they could. The Grateful Shed was raided for having marijuana posters in their back room. Let me say that again The Grateful Shed was raided for having marijuana posters in their back room. After a long and expensive trial The Grateful Shed proved to be justified and set different precedents in support of marijuana, they are still recovering from these expenses.

Now I’m not asking for us to subsidize people’s lives as they battle the legal system but you would think an organization based off of lawyers could provide free legal aid to the likes of The Grateful Shed, NJ Weedman, Joe Grumbine, Chris Wiliams, Eddy Lepp, Marc Emery and RandyLeibenguth. Instead we support them with well wishes and lawsuits that do not support the individual. I think this is where things can change. I’m grateful for new organizations like SSDP and MMP but in the long run the farmers and wanna-be store front operators are being buried under legal mumbo jumbo.

I spoke to Joe Grumbine before he went to prison and he agrees with me that the revolution has been commercialized and broken. That’s why he started The Human Solution. The Human Solution tries to help spread the word on jury nullification and tries to garner local court support for individuals facing trial. This isn’t a complete solution, but it does more for the individual than suing any institution.

People are standing up for marijuana for their own self-interest which is fine, but if you make a profit off of this beautiful plant try and give a little back to those that brought it to you. People who never consider fighting for marijuana education have learned the hard way that it is medicine or that any criminal implication from this plant is not justice. I got excited when I-502 passed, merely for what it means about my state: That the moral majority have some sort of common sense in this perverse world where fucked up shit happens every day the re-legalization of marijuana and the lie it represents does more harm than good.

When the law passed my wife got mad at me because I started investigating on how I could get involved with the new marijuana industry. Looking into how I could make an honest living off of something I truly care and respect. I can’t blame her for getting upset; I have an obsession with marijuana. If weed were legal this obsession probably would never exist for there would be no mass injustice.

Even though two states have legalized marijuana we have so much more work to do and ignorance to face. Personally I’m tired of being one of the usual suspects because I’m a dark brown smoker. I am not a criminal, I’m a father, a friend, a neighbor, an occasional writer, a daydreamer, that guy that lets you get into the lane when you’re driving – I’m everything else but the bad guy criminal. The guys here have given me an outlet that has turned into a support group for marijuana reform, we are the people.

I encourage every single one of you to write one letter to our prisoners of war, to donate a dollar to awareness groups like NORML, SSDP, MMP or even donate to a project like Gone To Pot The Movie or any other any other pro-marijuana Kickstarter project. Marijuana is still illegal in 48 states where 2 grams might as well be 2 lbs, a marijuana conviction can still alter your lively hood and any other future prospects – this shit needs to end.

There are bits and pieces of enlightenment after the two states legalized it; when Randy Leibenguth went in for his trial he was not imprisoned like Chris Williams. Instead I was fortunate enough to talk to him after his trial and he had this to say “the judge even said he was disturbed with the difference between state and federal and it was hard for him to actually put any of us in jail due to the changing times. He said he did not want to regret putting people in jail for something that 4 to 5 years down the road maybe something that is accepted normally” Now judges are realizing incarcerating people for a plant is ridiculous.

Marijuana is medicine, natural medicine for adults and children; there are people with money interest that don’t want you to treat yourself, to be thy own physician. Marijuana is medicine just like the pills big pharma sells, how does marijuana differ? It doesn’t, simply put the fat cats of pharma and alcohol are afraid of competition. Marijuana extracts are good for treatments; they just don’t want you to try and get to know yourself better. Better yet a chance to help yourself, help your family, help your children.

Even if you don’t want to believe thatmarijuana fights cancer, if there was a chance why not listen to those that say their life has improved because of it, its only humane. If you ever lost a loved one from cancer you would know that you would try anything just for 5 more minutes with them, one more hug, one more anything to do with them. I wonder if my dad’s end would’ve been better off if I was able to get him a joint. Cancer kills, not marijuana.

My present existence is based off of the essence of what is wrong with America, corporate cuts and lies, if I wasn’t doing it there’d be someone else. Socio-pshychopath that’s how I pay my bills and I’m not the only one. As a technician everything takes a certain amount of time, you can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip but that’s what I do, make money for “sober” people. We cut corners in quality to make money for our corporate masters and that’s why I was against 502, I didn’t want quality and Monsanto to take over my weed but I hope somehow to get involved with the new upcoming situation.

Maybe I am a hopeless hippie romantic but I do believe in the power of the plant over almost a hundred years of man made lies but we need to stop dissenting and hating upon one another. We all need to agree that cannabis is medicine but it’s also recreational the whole thing is a conundrum but truth non-the-less. We are now in an era where cannabis is the responsible choice over booze but as humans we choose to have our escapes. It’s human nature to want to be on another level.

Donate, debate, educate, doing what you can makes you an activist. I don’t want to live in a world where gardeners and shop keepers are treated like pedophiles, rapist, murderers or any other piece of shit in society. When good men and women serve longer sentences (when they shouldn’t be serving at all) than people that have kidnapped and violated others. In our society and country there should be a pecking order of wrongs and rights and marijuana isn’t even in the same category as wrong. We are not criminals, we are patients, we are adults that choose a night smoke as a night cap, we are people who no longer believe in the man behind the curtain.
Miguel

I saw this photo and was pissed - this, this is why we are fighting - as medicinal patients.  Because of someone famous who people see- a 'ROCK STAR'
and think it's all a joke. So I thought if I could, what would I say to Chris...

Dear Chris Brown:
Regarding this photo and recent text
"Oh don't worry,"  "It's medicinal!! Lol."

 http://ca.eonline.com/news/368346/chris-brown-smokes-three-joints-of-medicinal-marijuana-see-the-picture

Do you think this is funny? It appears you are making a joke.
Please e me so I may enlighten you on our sons medicine that helps him with chronic pain, because of his progressive to terminal bone disease. Chronic pain suffered since birth.
I am sure it is difficult for you to understand  - not experiencing it (thank God).
His 'Medical Cannabis' has been life saving.

Actually, I have a ‘few’ friends that all rely on this medicine (mothers, fathers, children - all races all ages) in order to just live a normal life. I know a few mothers (and fathers) that could  happily share their opinions with you.

Do you think it’s a joke that more black Americans  (many more than caucasian)  are in jail for doing what you joke about? They are not ‘rock stars’ so they will probably lose their home, jobs & families AND go to jail - for what you brag about.

I don’t find it very funny. Many very seriously ill people need this medicine and are already having a hard time because of such ‘jokes’  and ignorance.
You are setting an example. Unfortunately.
We though you would have learned that by now.

Kindly show others  a bit of compassion.

Respectfully
Georgia

My girls are much like myself and prefer the comfort of home  to the outdoors - Daisy loves it outside and she goes out regular to walk the property perimeter in search of squirrels that might have entered while she was busy.
Yesterday, I had a friend come over to help with the Valentine craft for the magazines. I also had to have Storm help- as much as my mind tells me I am ready - my body still does not. I joked with my friend Cathy that "people pay  money to stagger like this!"  Something that most do only after several glasses of wine;-)

I am excited to say that when I vaporize - I am NOW noticing -getting longer breaks in between the twitch - so I am still very much hopeful that it might fade! The pain also not so intense.
I HAVE to try not get upset. When I do it only seems to aggravate everything.  This might seem funny - and aside from the small things that get to me - it is the stuff that I read about that gets my blood boiling,  I need to take a break and just focus on drawing for a few days..
I am not angry but frustrated.  When I read the comments "mom gets daughter stoned"  Dr.s saying thing like  "parents will give children joints", or  "drug gets child HIGH" - NO Kidding! Tell me what drug does not get a child HIGH? How is this any different from a prescribed medication - say for pain? You get a feeling of high - omly without the  toxic side effects, possible addiction OR overdose.

I wish for one second these people would be sitting across from the Dr. that tells them
"your child is terminally ill, has cancer, leukemia.."  Then and only then after you do research on the medications your child will need - tell us YOUR opinion on Cannabis.  Here is little girl that is using Cannabis to help her- I LOVE that she likes how it makes her LAUGH! She is so cute, I love that cupcake hat ;-)
https://www.facebook.com/BraveMyKayla
I will never stop sharing this until this insanity is over.
I am proud of this mom I pray for her continued strength.
Then...
I see a photo of Bobby Brown with 3 joints in his mouth - saying - "don't worry it is medicinal" ..
Joke?  If it was Truly medicinal I don't think he would think it's such a joke.  It is sad. It makes me tired and I am still very tired from this surgery. So what is the best thing to do - TUNE out and turn on to what surrounds you with LOVE.  Drawing, crafting & I am able to do some cooking ;-)  and spending time with my girls who are an endless source of entertainment and LOVE.

Norm - who proved to be a TERRIBLE nurse - and informed me "I don't know how to make diner" - 50 years old and can't make a diner! WTF? -My fault - perhaps yes. Needless to say some changes are going to be made. Starting with Norm cooking a meal at LEAST once a week.
He did do what he does best and made for 'US' a bench I designed before surgery. It lets the girls sit and look out the window and 2 baskets below one for dog toys  - the other my drawing supplies for when I sit downstairs and draw... easily hidden when Company comes!  They love it. They also LOVE carrots- better than bones. They prefer them chilled.
I do love the good vibes I get from FB - so many people working together to make changes - helping each other. I have had several people interested in being a Guest Blogger and I am thrilled!!!
Now - It's time to draw, hang out with my son (I love it when he has a day off)  play with the girls and focus on 'being better'.

Sex with a TREE??

I just read that Jenny McCarthy said she once had sex with a tree while on pills. Nope, can't say as I have ever heard anything even remotely close to that from anyone who smokes.  Tree ?
 AND Cannabis is Illegal! LOL
Well not for long! Still beaming at the recent legalization news in the USA.  It's time! You can't hide the truth for long and thanks to Jenny (who I must admit LOOKS fricken fantastic) for sharing her "drug experiences" and all those who continuously show us their alcohol induced stupidity comas (been there done that) The choice will become clearer with every puff.
A TREE??  I mean I love Tree's but that takes Tree Hugger to a whole new meaning - LOL - thanks to my FB friends  who also shared comments this a.m. - Gives wood a whole new meaning!  Barking! Will it take over planking! LOL - Oh the cartoon opportunities are endless!  Of course my idea came 'naturally' the moment I read it!

Parents! Ask yourself one thing? Would you rather have your kids with the munchies or barking up the wrong tree? LOL- OH I crack myself up! ;))

3 - THREE more sleeps! - Getting the ZEN DEN ready today .. ready to return for some serious R&R and I have my drawing paper by my bed side!

Want to read more about Jenny:

I think I've read enough xox
