Cannabis is a plant, use in the past fro everything from Cholic to a tooth ache, and until someone decided it was a Dangerous DRUG it was a HERB.

Never mind any of that.., ALL of the substances on the left have been attributed to death. Sugar - again - a major factor in obesity, diabetes and more.  Alcohol.. abuse, physical hard to a body, impairment, poisoning, responsible for date rape, murder and “ I was drunk...”  and more. 

SO PLEASE,  stop telling me, I am wrong.  Me and the other few hundred thousand (who admit to it) and counting that believe Cannabis is a better CHOICE. A Healthier choice.

ONE for using Cannabis as my medicine and also for all those that wish to use recreationally.  Compare the choices and statistics.

While working on the Cartoon regarding not being able to consumer products, and thinking how insane it was... I was told  I better be careful about selling my Hempy Stalkers out of the country!  REALLY!

I have a couple that did not sell at the EXPO - I had enquires from many people, but several were from the USA and we were concerned about them being Cannabis stalks, as to wether they might get confiscated at the border.  Since home I have had 3 e mail from people that want to purchase a Hempy Stalker - all are from out of the country. 

I have been seriously warned to be careful - me thinking come on .. are you fucking kidding me? My painted sticks? My favorite - and now, I have decided never to part with him (he was for sale at the EXPO - glad he did not go) I call him “Budda” Like Buddha ;)

Every-time I look at him I smile, to the point I swear he has started to talk to me ;) Not all talking is done with words.  I might make him a regular in the strip. I did a bit of research and I am concerned about mailing them across the border. So I guess I won’t be.                           Hempy Stalkers - Only in Canada you say?   Pity...  

AS insane as it seems that I could be charged with trafficking for this painted Hempy Stalker stick!!?  The  media would be awesome! Perhaps if I was physically feeling a bit better I'd even be up to the challenge...

Tomorrow is the BIG day!  Cannabis will be celebrated all over the world! What started as a time for a bunch of guys to meet to smoke some 'marijuana'  at 4:20 everyday , has turned into a world wide celebration! On April 20th - 4/20.. People all around the world unite and light up! AWESOME! 
At first I thought it was 'neat' but then to see it grow and share! People get together to share, hang out, talk, laugh, educate and stand up for something they believe in! 

Medicinal and recreational, the crimes against Humanity regarding this plant are shameful.  Every year it grows larger, parades, marches, sit -in's & MORE!  Think about it...  When else do they do this? Not enough times I'm afraid. We should have a world wide NO GMO day! Or  Celebrate the children day and stop abuse! 

I was asked to post a cartoon early at 7:00 p.m. my time - because it is April 20 on the other side of the world already! ;D  Yes, I will admit in my small mind,  I did not think of that at first!  How many realize the problems regarding cannabis are all around the world?  Some people even die because of it.  
I do! I have been educated! I plan on doing what ever I can to help educate others!

And immensely enjoying it.  I love to read always have - not always an easy task lately with my twitch being what it is it can make reading difficult even distracting - so whatever I read has to be interesting to keep me  riding out twitches between paragraphs. This book is so interesting.

 Educating. The more I know the more confused I am. 

Since the beginning of time people want to get high, or achieve some sort of mental stimulation that heightens experiences or makes us feel at peace.  Every time prohibition of some sort steps in  - people move on, usually to a stronger substance and a new drug problem arises.  What amazes me is Cannabis has always been one of the safest, oldest and most widely used  substance on the planet and the fact that it is still illegal,  IMO is just another distraction.  Much like television.

Focus on the plant that people want, grow and use  most commonly: 
Government + control + prohibition(lies) = jail = $$$$$$$

To read the US government has taken out all kinds of patents on Cannabis - something they have claimed for years has no medicinal value, they have made millions suffer for it.  LIES. I had someone ask me with the look of  'REALLY?' on her face when I was telling her how after surgery, I used the vaporizer and was never sick again.  I see the 'REALLY?' Look when I tell them how great Storm is doing, and now I see the 'really!!'  look from a few close friends that are in my company when I medicate and can see many times; my twitch come to an instant halt if only for a few moments, after hours of endless twitching.  So I get it! I see the look often enough. I love it.

I really is depressing when you realize the many benefits of Cannabis that people could have been using and embracing and being educated on for years if not fo the STUPID - Simple word for exactly what it is. Stupid laws, prohibiting the use and education of the plant Cannabis.   As for people thinking it's snake oil, well - there sure are many people all around the wold willing to defend it's medicinal benefits.

I saw this on Fb and could not believe the extent that this was taken. I believe the woman will win in court. I HOPE.   
REALLY - Just for the smell of Cannabis!? It could easily be you. 
For a drug that has never killed anyone - unlike alcohol and prescription drugs.
I first thought Legalize but it's not enough. Decriminalize - well I thought this was the way to go but it appears people are still being arrested in states where it is decriminalized. It appears many people feel like I do and just want it to be exactly what it is a plant. 
Some comments on a recent post:

-Legalize, if we only decriminalize it the government will still try to control it and restrict our access as well as itll probably not even be the high grade medicine we are looking for considering everyones needs are different and not every strain works for another i have had some meds that just don't cut it at all and other times its perfect.
- Neither, the ONLY and I stress ONLY way to end prohibition is to deschedule it off the controlled substance list and to repeal all of the laws surrounding this plant and get the DEA off our back and people out of jail. That's it. I know it isn't that simple but if we ALL pull together we can do this. And another thing I live in a decriminalized state. Funny thing is 1 person is arrested every 37 seconds here.
-Should be as legal to grow as any other delicious herb  the gov doesnt limit how many basil or garlic plants i can grow, or control their potency... Cannabis should be no different.
-Oops forgot to reason. Marijuana never got its day in court. Instead an overweight white man testified that it made white girls want black men and that was considered evidence. Pot needs to be put back where it was, off the legal books, legalize not decriminalize, its not a crime.
-Remove cannabis from the law books entirely. No laws, no controlled substance designation. Just a plant, simple and free. Just like anything else in a common backyard garden.
-The worst possible side effect from marijuana use is a criminal record

At one point Homosexuality was a crime and was decriminalized. No one being arrested since I believe. WHY? Because it is a crime against the person. Women breast feeding in public was a crime! IMAGINE - Feeding your baby - the most natural act in the world for a mother - makes me wonder who the idiots are that invented these laws in the first place and why are we being punished for their stupidity decades later.
Judging someone and punishing them for using a plant as their medicine or recreationally - when no other person is being harmed is a crime against the person.  
Legalize! Decriminalize! Both are steps in the right direction.  
Put this plant back in the garden where it belongs. That is the ultimate goal ;-)

Today features two hero's really IMO, Peter and Julia.
Honestly, the first time I met Julia was the last day of the EXPO, literally sitting on boxes waiting for Norm to get the truck to pack up and head home! EXHAUSTED. It really does exhaust me; every time a few days later it hits me and I get sick. I guess with all else that is going on it is just physical and mental overload.  Well, she too was waiting at the top of the stairs and introduced herself. She said she hopes one day I'll draw a toon for Peter- I told her I make no promises ;-).  She was very sweet, had a huge smile on her face, - she did in fact every time I saw her walking around the EXPO, she stands out as I remember as she also wears hats!
 I love a HAT! I think people who can pull off a hat are lucky, not everyone can - she can pull off a hat beautifully I might add! ;-) First impressions - I liked her. It was not until very recently that I had heard from her again.  All I can say is Julia is lovely.  
I asked her for a blog and she happily replied -would I promote Peter's page!? Of course. Peter no longer with us - Julia continues to promote Peter, his life, poems, books and fight!  The fight to Legalize Cannabis.  So 'Two' Hero's.

When a dashing, tossel-haired poet came along in the '70s, many a young woman swooned. They gobbled up Peter's books like hotcakes, they hungered for some understanding voice to help guide them through the tumult of adolescence and young adulthood and Peter McWilliams was their answer.
Peter McWilliams wore many hats, he was a true Renaissance man. If you wanted to learn about computers, you could pick up one of Peter's manuals and laugh and learn at the same time. Peter sprinkled his sense of humour in all of his books. Even when he was hurting.
In the 70's, meditation was the in thing to do, and Peter enjoyed exploring this peaceful new existence. He wanted to help others find that shining inner peace as well and co-authored "The TM Book: How to Enjoy the Rest of Your Life" with Denise Denniston. Along the way he met Harold Bloomfield, M.D. Peter and Hari formed a friendship and wrote a few things together. Peter combined the poetry he had published in the book "Surviving" along with Melba Colgrove, Ph.D. and Harold Bloomfield's soothing advice, and voila, "How to Survive the Loss of a Love." So many have felt touched by this book, including Kristin Flor, who had just lost her dad, Cannabis warrior, Richard Flor, this past August. The book was published in 1971 and is still around to this day, a true testament to its value. This brilliant book is written so simply, it speaks to you like a comforting friend.
Peter drifted away from the computer world into the "personal growth" world. He disliked the phrase "self-help." But Peter's Life 101 series surely helped many who struggle with self-esteem. Such titles as "Life 101," "You Can't Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought," "Do It! Let's Get off Our Buts" and "Love 101" inspired many and to this day, are still touching lives and hearts. 
In the early 90's Peter wrote "Ain't Nobody's Business if You Do," considered the "Libertarian Bible" by many libertarians, even today. This book explains why the war on drugs is doing more harm than good . Peter wrote, "Drugs, gambling, and prostitution are the Big Three underground 'moneymakers' in consensual crime. There would be, however, significant boosts to the economy if the stigma attached to the other consensual crimes were eliminated through legalization." 
In March 1996, Peter learned the devastating news that he had AIDS and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He tried every drug his doctor could come up with, but nothing seemed to relieve his nausea. It was becoming normal for Peter to spend many hours a day throwing up. He was getting hardly any work done, and he was robbed of energy. After doing much research he discovered marijuana was the one thing that helped keep his medicines down. 
Proposition 215 had been passed allowing Californians access to medical marijuana. Around that time, Peter had published Todd McCormick's book, "How to Grow Medical Marijuana" and Peter was soon labeled a "drug kingpin" because the feds felt he was growing plants for profit when Peter said they were for the patients. Peter's house was raided and the DEA descended upon him in a huge thundercloud. They took his computer, and it came back totally clean, along with a surprise, a virus. People still to this day wonder why there was a mysterious house fire just a few days before Peter's death. It destroyed everything.

Peter had been jailed for 30 days, and he was told if he ever smoked cannabis again his mother and brother would lose their house. Some collateral, eh? Peter was facing 10 years of jail. So he took the plea, and he ended up dying at the young age of fifty. After he died, the Libertarians honoured Peter with the "Champion of Liberty" award. Peter's speech had touched many. He called for an end to the war on drugs and felt that marijuana should be available to anyone who needed it. "I feel that I am entitled to take medicinal marijuana. In general, I believe that everyone who has a doctor's prescription is entitled to take marijuana. I, however, do not believe that my day in court should be taken from me, and that's essentially what's happening," Peter said.
On Flag Day, June 14, 2000, Peter died. 
At the Treating Yourself Expo in Toronto this year, Mr. Marco Renda, the founder, walked around in a PeterMcWilliams.org t shirt. Many patients there were moved by the words on the back of Marco's shirt:

"Nausea is an unsolved problem of medicine and marijuana is the finest anti-nausea medication known to science."

Twelve years later, people still consider him one of the Cannabis Movement's biggest heroes. But many still don't know his name. PeterMcWilliams.org strives to educate everyone about this brave, beautiful man, the same man who once penned, 
"This poem is a kiss for your mind."

Peter McWilliams still lives on, in poetry and in politics, in the cannabis movement and in the meditation movement. In liberty and in love.
Peter still lives. And we're thankful for that. After all, he's got many more lives to touch.

Wow! I woke up this a.m. and logged on to Facebook - knowing I would see who the President was- Yeah Obama! I am glad Obama got a second term and did not think it fair that anyone could go in after GB and even come close to 'fixing' any of that. We are told a successful business has a very difficult first 5 years and many do not go on past 3, so why should this be any different?  I also LIKE him as a person. Not that we are chums but I believe he is a good person. Now I hope he legalizes across the USA for Cannabis. The American people need to make the choice for themselves. HE ALSO knows the truths of cannabis being a cannabis consumer himself.  
THEN to read that 2 - even 3 have decided to become 'LEGAL STATES' is FANTASTIC! People are getting sick of others being treated like criminals for a recreational drug that is FAR less harmful than Alcohol, never mind patients being treated like criminals for their medicine! Hope! I can smell it in the air. ;-))

Then this afternoon I pick up my mail only to see the newest issue of Canada's 420 insider!
I can not thank all the magazines enough - What better way than to plant he seed for many to see and they do it for me! I get the fun part! Drawing!  This is one of the magazines to feature the craft and a woman who already did the craft e mailed me and thanked me! How cool is that ;-) I've educated and inspired, a mom and daughter had a quality craft, time and memory together - now that, I did not count on and it made my DAY!  I am especially excited as the next issue out is the Christmas cover!! My first official cover and a Christmas one! I had so much fun drawing it!  ♥♥♥

Those words as a Canadian I would THINK would be someplace I can count on - to get help. Ha!
Here I go again. Every year we have to do the paper work. 
Nothing has changed.
Our son still suffers with a terminal illness & in my case I have gotten worse this past year- clearly with surgery just around the corner.  Today the timing is appropriate for what ever reason - only 11a.m. and I'm ready to go back to bed, head pounding, twitching and sick to my stomach.  Counting the days...  15!   Medicate and nap soon.
So on top of all this I now have to fill out the paper work get the Dr. to sign  and hope I get it all back in time - before surgery - just in case I'm not feeling so great and need to get it out of the way now.

 BUT WHY!? If I was using morphine/Oxy/prescribed pain medication from a pharmacy - would I have to go throguh this every fu%^$#@ time? Not just my son but I know so many people now who are - terminal, have cancer, have a hard time just functioning, most of them are NOT going to get better. Many have difficulty just LIVING!   What has happened to compassion where it is needed most with HEALTH CARE?
 
To make people suffer and endure added bullshit over a plant does MAKE ME ANGRY!
Changes MUST be made! With our Health care system - and Cannabis.  End the bullshit by decriminalizing and let people and Dr.s do what they want! A Dr. SHOULD never be made a criminal for helping someone. I DONT want pills.  I'm worried about what Im going to get after the surgery - being even 'aspirin free' for a couple of years. 
With all the horror stories I am hearing - seriously ill people who can not find a signing Dr. 
When all this stated I did not believe in paying a Dr. to get your license. But after meeting people who have cancer, serious illnesses and their Dr.s refuse to sign because of the political crap that accompanies the paper work. People are being forced to look for signing Dr.s who charge to help them. I understand.

I still don't agree with those that just want to enjoy the herb and go to a Dr. to get their license. To me it is almost a sign of cowardice. Stand up for what you believe in! 
VOTE and THANK GOD you are not in the company of the sick who seriously NEED cannabis to make their life liveable! 

WHAT happens between you and your DR. Should be between you and your DR. 
He is the one with the degree. Not Health Canada or any other government agency!

Cannabis is a hot topic.  Some do NOT want it legalized - like those that are already profiting from it. Criminals, politicians, law enforcement, alcohol makers and distributers  and *Pharmaceutical companies.  It would seem if you watch and read that the majority of the human race want's cannabis to be legalized or better yet- decriminalized.  Everyone knows someone!! My hunny and I ended up going to a sweet little tea/art/antique house for tea today and got into the conversation  with a few lovely ladies about cannabis and Crohn's disease. I know about crohn's from people who have it and have educated me on their cannabis use. So many people tell me that the medications they were on were killing them and giving them no life what so ever. I KNOW what Cannabis does for pain, we have witnessed it first hand with our son I KNOW what cannabis does for nausea, twitching nerve head pain and depression. IT eases every one of those symptoms for me. 
The one woman told me something during conversation and my brain instantly went TOON!! TOON! lol I had to interrupt her for a piece of paper so I woud not forget!

People can say what they want but the signs are there. People are talking, people are tired and everyone knows someone who uses cannabis. It does not seem such a big deal. Times are changing and I am hopeful. I really do believe everything happens for a reason. WE went in to see the place - started talking about art, that turned to  Mural cartoons in the local school (which I did years ago) was then asked- what do you do now and then it begins.  I AM very proud to be a cannabis cartoonist. If you ask I will tell you.

There is a joke - I've drawn it before (posted below) that many Cannabis users have tried. Suicided by cannabis - not happening.  Common sense. Where has it gone? How can we be throwing people in jail, taking their kids from them, ruining their lives, losing jobs for something that is less harmful than water. If cannabis were decriminalized and recognized for what it is - a plant. This planet would be a little more peaceful. How could it not??  Think about it. 

More and more older people are turning back to cannabis! Why? Because although old they are far from stupid!  As we age we go to the Dr. and are given pills for our aches and pains.. they come with age for  most of us. That is life, happy to still be a part of it. 
Unfortunately, as we continue to age we are prescribed more pills for each ache and pain, sleep problems, stress, tired-- the list is endless.  Chemical cocktails, add to this already deadly mix- the fact that we forget! Accidental overdoes is a common problem with the aged.
That does not just happen to older people- it can happen to us all when not feeling well or distracted. It is not a problem with cannabis.  There is a 'home' in Isreal where Cannabis is handed out to patients who need it and benefit from it and because of -LIVING proof- it is becoming even more common. *Moderation. As much as I talk about anti booze- I do know several people who have always been able to have 'a drink'.  A drink after a long day - to take the edge off.. relax, unwind with a glass of wine. A (ONE) drink. EVERYTHING in moderation! My husbands dad was well into his 80's and said a shot of rum- kept his blood flowing. One shot - that was it. Usually in his evening coffee.  He died because of complications due to a car accident, it was not the rum - and he was by far one of the 'SHARPEST' pencils in the box. KEEP IN MIND, studies show that alcohol is more damaging to the body and brain than marijuana.

Ignorance is bliss... It was until I started to research all this Cannabis stuff!  I then was turned onto GMO information and documentaries on STUFF.  Cannabis is STILL illegal even after  centuries of  '0' reported deaths, proven medicinal qualities and numerous (MILLIONS) of first hand accounts from the PEOPLE on how it HELPS.  There is a growing (no punn intended) concern regarding GMO's from Salmon to tomatoes (GREAT DOC - WATCH FREE CLICK HERE)  -who will say what the long term affect of GMO's will be - a rise in cancer? That is what is expected ... EXPECTED!?  Don't believe me research it for yourself. I DARE YOU!  Yes because ignorance is bliss. 
Too  many would rather turn on the tube and be amused - worse - possibly educated by the countless mind melting reality T.V.;  NOT a REALITY of mine!! Thank God. Sadly in many cases children copy parents and we will have a new generation of mind melted drones - who will not have a clue what to do when they really NEED to. . they will eat all this crap and die at an earlier age - Oh wait! That is happening NOW! 
For the first time in history children are dying at a  earlier age with  diabetes and obesity & childhood cancers on the rise. Passing before their parents. ;-(
Do you know that the average very successful and intelligent person watches very LITTLE   T.V. ? And they for sure do not spend the day on Face book. Distraction. 
Like or not - we all all being distracted and sooner or later it will hit home.  In India they have tried to patent seeds - so that you can only ever get seeds if you have money! SEEDS!!
Should you plant a seed from a vegetable that is patent - you will be fined. Charged. 
We here say - well just go to the grocery store- in India - they say -  we will starve. That could be our future should we CONTINUE to lose control of our rights as humans.
When I was thinking of this toon I was going to have a animal say the comment on the end because the reality might not be appreciated, the next morning - before I started to draw  - on FB someone posted a starving man and my mind was made up. No cute gopher.
TOO BAD if some find it harsh.  It is reality and I will not be a part of ignoring it. 
I pray I can be a part of changing it.  
WHEN will you TURN off the T.V and TUNE into LIFE and the serious issues surrounding all of us? When you are starving?

Oh BTH I have never seen the Kardashiens (really don't know how to spell it) from the rare posts and news bits that I have witnessed - It is a very sad sign that these people are being idolized.  I feel sorry for them and us.  

For everyone that embraces this plant - has educated themselves on this plant and all it's GOODness - medicinal, Hemp, Oil, Food, building material and MORE- That continue to fight for this plant and our rights as humans - It's time for a group hug! I know how frustrating it can be, feeling like your banging your head against a brick wall, wondering is anyone listening???

Not sure if it is because I am tired, physically or mentally but the past few days I'm having trouble shaking this feeling of  "...this is just absurd."  Cannabis & the crap I read. 
HOW do people still think it kills you? As for saying we need more scientific research 
- 'o' deaths in over 5,000 years - Uummmmm - IS THAT not scientific research enough? 
Changing rules, telling lies, arresting sick humans, Telling MILLIONS around the world what they can and cannot do with a plant or our own bodies is just insane. It is malicious.
It will never be controlled, people will continue to suffer and other problems that are more serious go by the wayside.  
Like the fact that some nut can legally buy GUNS and ammo, walk into a theatre and kill people. World Hunger, poverty, child abuse, Human trafficking, DEADLY drug abuse and animal abuse are all very important - just to name a few! 
More important than the distraction that we are all dealing with - Cannabis.  We are forced to deal with it because some see it as a MONEY MAKER - and want to be in control of that money. They do not want us to grow our own - they cannot make any MONEY that way.
Instead of just letting us  be happy and heal with what God put on this earth for ALL of us, we are FORCED to live this stress, fight this battle. 

So I ask myself.. How many are we? Why are we still putting up with this ?

Schools are suffering, children are hungry and the law keeps throwing people in jail instead of being helped & treated - they are released only to fall into the same pattern as before. Worse , they go to jail for a crime like smoking cannabis and come out criminals.
Find out how some other places in the world have treated the problem and are SUCCESSFUL!

If everyone that smoked it admitted to it.. 
If you smoke cannabis  recreationally or medicinally and don't take action to help promote legalization or even better Decriminalization they you don't deserve to smoke Cannabis. 
If you are not helping then you  ARE hurting.  Your worried what others will think, worried about losing your job, worried about losing your kids.  
FEAR is a powerful tool. 
All these thing we are all afraid of. If you believe are doing nothing wrong then why lie?
WHY? 
Why are we afraid to stand up for a PLANT, that eases pain and brings comfort and relaxation and (HELL YES) some fun and laughter from time to time. 
IF Alcohol is legal then we should be demanding Cannabis be made legal for all to use. 
No deaths from it EVER.  * YES I have to keep saying that - as it amazes me HOW many people I meet who just don't know that! 
How many deaths from Alcohol- you tell me.
ARE we not HUMANS - children of God ? All deserving a happy life?
We get one shot and I for one will not live my life in shame when I have nothing to be ashamed of.  Not for smoking, eating, vaporizing Cannabis. 
There are so many more dangerous things that are all legal - owning a boa constrictor, bungee jumping, ordering puffer fish at a restaurant, bath salts are legal to buy (the kind that Mess you up and eat your dog bath salts) so WHY? IT's ludicrous! 
There are enough of us - all around the world.  Many who do NOT use Cannabis but still admit & understand it's value and importance to medicine and  LIFE in general. 
So just admit it and move on there are far worse crimes in this world.  
Perhaps you will educate someone in the process- 
I'm not saying go to your kids school and announce at show and tell - I am saying, enough !  Cannabis is a safer option than alcohol and if YOU do use it for medicine be  LOUD and Proud! This is how change will happen. 

* If you are a parent - YOUR children must always come first - If you burn and then burnout - you are not a good parent. Kids need positive examples. If you smoke and sit on the sofa all day - you ARE NOT a setting a GOOD example. EDUCATE your children and  teaching by example is one of the best ways to help your children make the best choices for them when they are old enough to decide to try cannabis themselves.
Time to WAKE up! Time to Stand UP!!! 
Before we are shut up...  then, we will no one to blame but ourselves.

Questions are being asked. I've been reading how Obama knows he just might win IF he legalizes Cannabis, although you have to wonder - once bitten, twice shy?  It is in the news, 
not just FOX.  People are asking questions! Will you know the answers? I do!!! 
 IF  your children ask - tell them the truth! Educate them properly - not with lies that they will only end up resenting you for in the future - because it is in fact their FUTURE!  Educate them on Cannabis AND HEMP! Help them make their world a better place for their children. 
As it says above... BECAUSE it works!!
