Today's cool...

From reality T.V and the news, FB, reading the paper- and witnessing life... wow Teens today! NEVER MIND teens today! PARENTS TODAY! If your teen thinks it is COOL to have a baby - I will say it > where the heck are your parenting skills!?

IT is not COOL for the amount of TEENS to be having babies that are having babies! Not married, (not that really matters- I have many friends 20 years later that no longer married) do not have steady jobs are in many cases do NOT even finish their high school education. More and more babies are being born to young moms- who really are not ready, prepared for the 20+ year job they just took on! AND no dads! A generation is being brought up without dads. Or more of what I am hearing a generation being raised by already also stressed grandparents because young moms soon find they have a hard time handling.

You read and see it every day. IT IS harder for teens today!

$$$ schools- $$$, no jobs, parents working harder, parents working more hours less family time.

The most important second thing that appears to be COOL - guns and gangs. NOT COOL

It speaks for itself especially in this city Toronto that I grew up in. This summer full of guns, death, gangs and violence. IT's NOT cool. Sadly most realize how UN cool it is once they are in jail or have lost a life.

ATTITUDE. Kids are getting away with so much attitude. They think it's o.k. /cool to walk up to a stranger and tell them to go fuck themselves. They walk around angry and miserable. Sadly they grow, angrier, nastier and alone. The crap they get away with IN school is terrible - I feel for teachers and other students that grasp the importance of an education but are forced to deal with others attitude and Bullshit. Not COOL.

All this is on the rise... WHY? Where are today's parents? WHEN your children are young they need direction and LOVE and they need to think - ahead of the moment to see that what they think as today's cool could have them turned into tomorrows Fool. Sad all around. They don't need all that STUFF that parents work so hard for, most do not appreciate it anyway.

TEENS are big kids. STILL needing lots of LOVE - even more! Patience and teaching - after all they will soon be tomorrows adults and that effects us all.

DON'T LIE to them about Cannabis. If you drink ALCOHOL - make sure they understand how many lives are ruined by alcohol daily on every level - EDUCATE them so they can be the intelligent beings they are - with a chance at a positive future.WE all need to Teach our children about moderation, choice and responsibility.

I've watched documentaries on the Amazon and how we go in and destroy. Simple.
Many medicines are derived from Plants found all over the world. Cannabis just one of many helpful herbs. All plants are placed on the planet for all people. SIMPLE.
How many are we? Educate someone today!
Side note: My baby bro. (by one year) is spending a few days here with me. He himself admitted he had no idea the scale of Cannabis education until a few short days spent here. LOL - TRUST me thats not because we walk around all day with a doobie hanging out our mouth - it is because we take Cannabis very seriously in this home. My brother quickly realizing we are not into stoner jokes or mentality when it comes to our medicine.
But again it just showed/reminded me - unless you live it you don't know - unless you seek the truth your still caught up in the reefer madness.

If you had a child that relied on it for their quality of life you would take it very seriously also. I can't help but think of the Hyde family who have decided - no more tests, no more pain for Cashy - they are going to give him RSO and treat him at home. My heart is with them, prayers and HOPE.
I have to admit I have 'lost it' a few times with people. Someone contacted me saying their license had expired and they needed to get re-signed cause they were growing and have small kids could I give them our Dr.s name so they can get signed.
I asked him if he had recently been diagnosed with a TERMINAL illness. I was pissed. Still am kinda - not at the person - I actually like him as a person -Im more angry at the mindset. He has kids - all healthy I am guessing. - SERIOUSLY!? Stop and think.

My son had his license at 14. He has a progressive to terminal incredibly painful bone disease- always has and (although I can hope and pray) he probably always will.

No I will NOT give you our Dr.s information. I know he would be even less impressed.

IF YOU WANT to use Cannabis recreationally - then get off your ass and do something about it! VOTE! EDUCATE! Speak up!

If you want Cannabis as your medicine ask YOUR own Dr. , I have mentioned so many times in this blog how to do it .. If they say NO find a new Dr.
One that cares for your true well being - or maybe if your Dr. says no - perhaps he does not agree that you need it. Either way - it is your responsibility. No one should be asking for anyones Dr.

For now ask yourself -how many are we ?

It always amazes me to read about Cannabis and Dr.s. You see Dr.s over the years have supported Cannabis and Cannabis research. Years ago it was prescribed by Dr.s for everything from Colic to cramps. When the U.S government 'took it off shelves' to say - Dr.s did not agree and were often public about it. I just read once again The American Medical Association and the The American College of Physicians and the American Public Health Association and the American Nurses Association are strong supporters for Medical Cannabis and want research encouraged.
They know people who suffer and cannabis helps, I read about it all the time, Dr.s who get Cannabis for their family members. Some just to make the end of life more enjoyable & pain free (controlled).
So time and time again - I wonder - then why not stand up for what is right? Why are we letting those who are motivated by money and lies continue to stop the human race from doing what we believe is best for our own lives. It is NOT about getting high - trust me - I know many medical patients and they wish they could get 'high' most just are able to function. So since this war on Drugs is the failure that it is, the lies about cannabis hard to further contain... speak up. Remind your Dr.s about the facts. Share the opinions of their peers on Cannabis research and medical value. Perhaps they just don't know. Either way it's time. Time to let those who truly want to help us - do just that. Leave the police to deal with CRIMINALS and the politicians to - what ever it is they 'claim' to do.
*Note- I am a Canadian. I am reading an American book about Cannabis (and enjoying)
My cartoons can "sadly" easily have different words replaced the Canadian Medical Association - (but we already do recognize Cannabis and it's medicinal value) or replace the DEA with the Mounties and our own FAT CAT - S.H. The facts are - we are all fighting this insane battle. ALL OVER the world.
How many are we?

More common and dangerous than "grow rooms"...

If you are not aware, in Canada many patients can grow their own medicine. Not only is this helping ease their pain mentally for many it is something they can still do physically, and also brings them peace mentally as it does with gardeners all around the world since the beginning of time.
NOW Health Canada says they will be taking away that right - and no one will be allowed to grow their own medicine - they will be once again have to rely on others - encouraging (once again) crime that comes with prohibition, growers who will not care and will only be looking out for money and themselves. Many will no longer be able to afford their medicine. A PLANT.
Not to mention access medicine - the stain that best helps their symptoms. THE reason Heatlh Canada and the Police say for this is SAFETY.
To which I say .. BULLSHIT!
Put it into perspective... Are you worried you might have someone growing next to you? Chances are you have a much more serious SAFETY hazard living next door. Hoarding. We have all seen it - it was one reason I decided to get rid of cable!
Hoarding is a disease. It is very sad, STUFF. Stuff everywhere, it robs people of their lives, consumes them- often add food and animals to this disaster and the results are horrendous.
"There is no question that the effects of hoarding are tragic: animals wallow in their own waste, are denied food and water for long periods of time, do not get necessary veterinary care, are sometimes crammed into cages and do not receive walks or regular exercise, all of which results in tremendous suffering and death. Hoarding is cruel, painful, and abhorrent." <Taken from a animal shelter that deals with hoarding daily.

Ask any repair man if he has been in a hoarder home? If Safety was an issue then we should be helping hoarders first. They live in death traps. Rodents, bugs and fire hazards.
I know a few myself. Stuff that they never use, stuff in most cases - no one wants. After all that is what the government really wants us to do - buy stuff - not get healthy.
So OPEN your eyes. Before you get caught up in the Safety issues of grow rooms - just think about how common hoarding has become.
If I had my choice I'd live beside a grower before a hoarder.
I'd much rather a little bud than a little bug come my way... bed bugs.
* I am NOT talking about those that destroy homes by turning them into grow ops.
I do NOT agree with that either. But as for patients growing their own medicine

We watched this documentary of hoarding - like no other I've seen. Well done and very interesting. Watch it and see what hoarding does to a family, to a life.

Wake Up Sheeple!

When I was drawing this toon I was going to compare the USA and Canada and a few other places especially the weight issues; Obesity is such a killer and our poor kids have no hope with fast food places springing up like - FAST food places! While researching W.H.O "Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, with at least 2.8 million people dying each year as a result of being overweight or obese. Once associated with high-income countries, obesity is now also prevalent in low- and middle-income countries."
I also believed that Canada would be second behind the USA with the obesity
- Sorry Canada... my bad! We are actually 11th. 'Whew!'
The issue - who is the fattest- is NOT the issue.
These things are killing us and yes they are all legal.. and we just keep buying into it.
So WHY do we do it? It's the normal way of life. Where can you go and not be tempted by any of the 3 or have them in your face all the time. Storm and I have had several conversation about fast food lately. I've not been feeling great and cooking not my favorite past time as it is but - every time I eat fast food lately (with the exception of Burger priest or Swiss Chalet ) I'm talking McD's or KFC> I feel sick. So why - EASE and like the millions of you I was raised with this. IT IS LACK of Education.
TEACH your kids - if you do this now then chances are they might just want to be the incredible beings they are meant to be!! BE honest!! SHOW them the facts. Teach by example. I read some kids only ever get French Fries as their vegetable.
All things in life should be sampled if you are fortunate enough - but "super-size that and add gravy!" has to stop.
I wrote 'in the USA' because those are the facts. Mexico a close second.. If Canada was the fattest it would say it in this cartoon. Perhaps I should have said in the world but that is not true- too many people in the world have everything BUT Obesity to die from.

My wish for today is someone sees this cartoon and RE-thinks the next time they eat out,
pours another or buys another pack of smokes. EVEN that tiny thought can be a start.

Time to break away from the "sheeple" and do what is right. Look after each other.
How about spending a little less money on sending people to prison and spending on educating our children - properly - truthfully on HEALTH. KARMA and compassion.

Questions are being asked. I've been reading how Obama knows he just might win IF he legalizes Cannabis, although you have to wonder - once bitten, twice shy? It is in the news,
not just FOX. People are asking questions! Will you know the answers? I do!!!
IF your children ask - tell them the truth! Educate them properly - not with lies that they will only end up resenting you for in the future - because it is in fact their FUTURE! Educate them on Cannabis AND HEMP! Help them make their world a better place for their children.
As it says above... BECAUSE it works!!
That is why this little plant (weed if you prefer) IS STILL HERE.
People are willing to fight for it. I know I am.
Cannabis is medicine.

It's never too late!

I love reading about Israel and the homes for the aged.. most have vaporizers and encourage their patients to use cannabis! It is widely prescribed for numerous ailments! WHY - because so many old people are on so many different medications! Medications that interact with each other and often prove a deadly combination! WHY ? Why not just take one - one that is proven to help so many different symptoms.
Sleep, appetite, nausea, pain and depression - just to name a few.
ALL can be alleviated with Cannabis. The sad thing is with all of this, they have believe the LIES the past years and some are concerned about trying Cannabis, if they know the facts that will change. The facts - most prescribed drugs have a greater chance to hurt/kill you than Cannabis. I KNOW we HAVE to take certain medications to help us with different medical conditions- but I know several older friends that a I said take pills for the other stuff too - It's ll they know, it has been pushed on them for the past 40 years. Look at your parents medications- what are they taking? Could they perhaps have a little cookie in the evening to help them sleep or make them comfortable - rather than a harsh toxic chemical that will only cause them long term harm? I PRAY that soon these changes will come to Canada. Educate someone older today! Them they grow old gracefully and happily - they deserve it! xox<><

It is all in our minds. ONCE you sit and go over it - again and again - YOU CAN NOT understand why Cannabis is illegal. REALLY. I know I find this happening time and time again. It is really insane - The truth can not possibly be hidden longer!
As for bars/clubs - I had my share in the past (The Big Bop, The Conroy, The Grey Goat, Greystones - The Ports...I mention them to make aware I was aware.) Many hire especially good looking bartenders- why not a little something to wet your whistle before you wet your whistle and then a little flirt to keep you coming back... at 8$ a GLASS!!!
A Dr. who prescribes Cannabis to help ease someone's pain -is considered a criminal???NOT TO MENTION ( o.k. I guess I am-) STOP AND THINK How many people over drink and then leave the bar and DRIVE - will the bartender be charged? They can be! BUT chances are the person is too drunk to ever make that person responsible. ESPECIALLY if they die. THEY SHOULD BE - or should they - if anyone should be charged it should be the makers of the alcohol - if you have $$$$$$$ to attempt to sue them- but wait - are they forcing it down your throat? You tell me the next time you get a HIGH GLOSS, full color recipe magazine - what BOOZE goes best with what GRUB -FREE!!! From the LCBO delivered right to your mailbox. Signs, ads, posters, t -shirts..
CLEAR your mind.
DARE to compare the facts!
Thats' all I'm asking. Then explain to me why is Cannabis still illegal.

For as long as I can remember I've seen images associated with Cannabis and women (and men) running through tall grass in all their nakedness. W.T.F? Honestly - I HAVE never had any desire what so ever in all my history of experiences with Cannabis of stripping off all my clothing and running anywhere naked! LOL - Much to my hubby's disappointment. If people took off their clothes at Woodstock and ran naked well it was the MOOD, the people and perhaps something a little stronger than Cannabis. Still - more than anything it is the person - confident with themselves and feeling free. I see no harm. LOL - Not that I've ever witnessed such an event or care to do so at this point. As a matter of fact I often ask people have you ever- I have never met anyone that has had such an extreme 'high'. Yes, I have heard people say they 'hear things'? I think they might hear something and then the imagination (under the power of the plant) might take over, but nothing as extreme as walls warping, colors morphing, boobies being bared! Hee hee hee
I have had an unpleasant experience or two... to be tooned, again still no stripping involved - again much to my hubby's disappointment. Spread the facts! END the lies -time to realize!

Fear and Fiction!

How many times have you heard cannabis will destroy your life, rot your brain, you'll never amount to anything. When people stop blaming the plant and blame the person we will all be better off. I know now that it is a terrible thing to tell your kids -lies - Cannabis is evil - because what happens is they try it and soon realize that is in FACT not evil or deadly - most with access to the internet are in FACT realizing it is quite the opposite. SO when they do try - then they might think to themselves.. Hmm perhaps Meth is not so bad either. BIG difference! This toon shows just 3, 3 people who admitted to Cannabis use (- some more than others) that did IN FACT go on to be quite special and incredibly successful! The president of the United states!? Now if ONLY he would stand up for what he believes ;-(
STOP the lies.
If your teen does smoke Cannabis - GET OVER IT! I could be worse. THEY could be drinking and driving. I read of a young lady who killed herself after her mother had been made aware that she was smoking cannabis. There are much more serious problems to worry about - how about just the rise of teen suicide? But to blame them - tell them they will never amount to anything? WTF? Over a plant. That is the crime. Not the use of a plant that perhaps brings them just a bit of peace and relaxation and fun! YES fun is important. Teens and young adults have even more pressure of on them than ever before. So - This one is just out the window.
I know many many successful people - who all smoke Cannabis.
If you go nowhere with your life you have one thing to blame...
YOURSELF.

Cannabis FACTORY!!?

Reading the headlines every day I see yet again "police bust Cannabis factory". Other terms are Grow houses, Grow Op. Cannabis labs!? I know that there are cannabis warehouses and Grow factories - most of them illegal. I have also said it before and will say it again I DO NOT agree with people who rent homes and turn them into grow houses - illegally. ILLEGAL is part of the problem. In my opinion I believe that most of these places are 1/2 assed and not alway safe because they have to be sneaky about it. They also do not care because they are renting. - IF they were legal - chances are it is then an investment and people want to do it right. Legal medicinal growers - MOST of them that I am aware of, have only a small room/tent set up with a few plants. NOT everyone you read about is a GROW factory. If the government really cared - then they should BE concerned about Meth labs. Growing plants or mixing harmful chemicals that could kill just from breathing in the fumes or worse explode! I might add that people make meth everywhere, from inside cars, public washrooms and more! Meth is a bigger problem than Cannabis - yet Cannabis is the one that we hear about most. WHY ?

Do you have plants in your home? How would you feel if someone came in and said you can't grow these plants. NOW how would you feel if these 'Plants' were easing your suffering. PLANTS, every window sill in my house has plants, every room. I love plants!
I have also been reading how growing medicine is so therapeutic for so many people. It keeps their mind off their disease, gives them something to do - to care for tend to, be around nature. What a sense of accomplishment on top of it when you can use what you grow to ease your pain - physically & mentally. Truly a Blessing.
So before you let your imaginations get to you .. NOT everyone who grows Cannabis has a GROW factory. Next time your watering your little budding beauties imagine if the government had the right to come in and remove your plants. Your sage, basil, lavender, aloe vera. Plants. How INSANE is that? When it comes right down to it - don't forget - that is all Cannabis is ~ A PLANT! Do you deny?
It's not the plants fault that some people abuse it.
Choice. Education and the RIGHT to be happy & healthy.

Fact or fiction? You tell me!

I came up with fact or fiction because of everything I have been reading, learning that most of what I hear on the NEWS is fiction. It has me wondering about much. Yes, I guess I am naive in a few ways. Or rather - I was un-educated/ignorant on the topic of Cannabis. Now, I am no where near an expert- LOL - BUT I have learned enough to realize that there is much more to this than a plant. If you watch media when ever they talk about cannabis users they show images of "hippies, lazy kids, -your stereotypical stoners " I personally know so many different people who ALL smoke cannabis. They come in every walk of life. Rich, poor -educated, young, old ... * as a matter of fact I recently read in Europe mostly- it is the educated who smoke Cannabis and children of parents who are successful- who smoke cannabis. I think because they grew up treating it like the harmless plant that it is and realize that is IT definitaly ONE of the safest recreational drugs available. I know professionals, soccer moms, police officers, hard working hubby's (NOT mine- he is not a fan of cannabis and prefers a pill when he is ill.. his choice - I'm working on him) ;-)
What I am trying to say IS there is NOT one person that you can use to portray someone who smokes Cannabis.
DO NOT judge a book by it's cover.
So funny -(NO, NOT REALLY) how they always seem to show the same sort of person when the topic of Marijuana is covered. Quite frankly, I for one am growing tired of the misleading and insulting images used. Insulting because It is my son's medicine and he is no 'stoner'. Do they portray people who use morphine like this? No they portray them as sick patients who deserve compassion. If Cannabis is your medicine then you too deserve the same respect. I am PROUD my son uses Cannabis for his pain. LOUD & Proud people.

Time out!

Time out - when Storm was little and stuff was getting to him, he would act up as do all kids and we give them a time out! I did the 1, 2, 3 thing with Storm and it worked amazing - I rarely got to 3. Sometimes I realize now I need a time out. Not for acting up but more from overload.
Stuff on my mind from a busy week, Dr.s visits and sometimes stuff just gets to me. This week on FB I saw an image of an 84 year old woman who had been pepper sprayed ;-( REALLY!? Is that the only way to deal with and 80 year old lady. ;-( I read of a baby boy abducted and found shortly after beaten and sexually abused;-( There were all kinds of porn posts on Fb - hacking and posting nasty stuff.. TIME out! I plan on staying off of FB for at least a week. Luckily I have my assistant who is a FB ninja so she can still help me post and spread the word while I draw and FOCUS.
I have so many drawings in my head right now with all that is happening, I'm going to get them out on paper. The strip will soon be taking a new (an interesting) twist - I've decided to start and also make some strips straight forward - so that anyone that sees them would have to go Hmmmmmmmmmmm.. think. JUST think. I don't think it is even about Cannabis any more. More about power and control. To control and jail people over a plant is simply a crime against nature and humanity. Past presidents have said it - the drug should be more harmful than the punishment. This in NOT the case with Cannabis. Regarding medicinal cannabis - I just read a man denied a liver transplant because he uses Dr. approved Cannabis for his pain control. W.T.F? Where is compassion for sick and suffering?
Time-out for me to wrap my head around some stuff.. and do what matters to me and what I believe in. I do plan on blogging and posting everyday but I need a break from FB and surfing - I have more than enough to research already. I'm here is anyone wants to get in touch all I ask is that you share, spread the word - as always if you know someone who has a child who is suffering from chronic pain, arthritis, cancer - anything - PLEASE tell them about Storm's story and the other children on my Cannabis Education page.
CANNABIS helps. It NEEDs to be researched. It NEEDS to be legalized.
Help ease suffering. Help end this insanity. Over a .... plant. xox
