Now that’s an edible!

I  draw for many people, a few bakers the past few years - so I have tried my share of baked goods.  I am also in a situation where I have met many people who bake medibles. and I am even sent some in the mail and have to say there have been times where I do not eat or use the edibles that have been sent. I have even tossed several.

 Why?   I have no clue about who made them or how they were made, they can taste a little “off” or I can taste the cannabis... and like everything else lately I try to know what I put in my body - including GMO’s  so why should cannabis be any different?  

Unless I bake it in my own kitchen - I like to know what’s in it. ESPECIALLY with medicine. 

BUT I never know what to say to people. IF they ask. ”Did you like it”?  
 I always give my honest opinion and it might not be great, but I do it in hopes that they can make themselves better, not to drag someone down.  This is a competitive market like EVERY thing else so, step it up or move over.

I have had medibles from a few clubs and made such suggestions and then just watch.. some will and some won’t and those that don’t IMO will soon be out of business. 
Many patients do want some sort of clarity on what we are taking. We also want it to taste good! If a compassion club can't offer you an assortment  - then look for another compassion club. I think sooner or alter they all have to set certain standards.
IF you bake for a compassion club PLEASE  TAKE it up a notch!  

This is clear and professional and I was happy to sample. I have mentioned  this compassion club before because I know the quality of the baked good and yes I will say they are one of the best I have met. Why wouldn’t I - It is part of the confusion - anyway that I can help make it easier and eliminate any stress anyone is dealing with - been there done that!  You will fin a brochure from them in my special EXPO bag and a few other clubs I like and have had the pleasure of dealing with. If you currently use a club that does NOT present medibles like this - make the suggestion. Part of the problem is the sneakiness still associated with silly habits,  
food should be marked clearly for several reasons including allergies. 
Take the time.. add the detail of TLC - your patients will thank you for it.

It amazes me how few peole even know what the DSM is. I know of several schools that have a copy. Just the way your friendly pharmacy company likes it.  More and more children are becoming  pill poppers. LEGAL pills.

Is your child mental or normal? 3 out bursts a week, and they could be diagnosed mental!  Some schools even have a copy of the DSM... WTF!? 

It is one thing to diagnose an adult with a mental illness but a child? Give them a chance to be a kid, that included outbursts and bratty behavior from time to time.  Embrace it, it is a chance to teach a lesson to both parent and child.

If I thought the DSM was helping more than hurting I would probably just go about my business, but it is HURTING. 
More and more children are diagnosed every year - that does not mean they get help. In many cases they get a prescription and nothing more. Well, besides the stigma of being labeled mental. As if kids don’t have it hard enough.

 Then to put them on a medication - for depression? Possibly a psychotropic drug that will cause more long term damage than not.  Because a BOOK suggests it! 

Yep. They sit around a table and make suggestions.  No scientific facts. No X-rays, No blood tests, No test to prove a chemical imbalance - Even Dr.s & Psychiatrists are starting to question the DSM.

I guess so, especially when they must  explain to the parent of a child on medication that does them more harm in long run. In some cases the child commits suicide on the drugs they are prescribed to help them. FACT - Google side effects of PROZAC

Think about also how your child might feel about YOUR decision to medicate them, when they are 30, they might have an opinion on what you decided regarding their mental state. If they live that long.  Do you think I am being dramatic? 
Research. Look at the rise in numbers with children being medicated and prescribed with such things like Bipolar at the age of 2!  
Perhaps not your children but your grand children? ANY child! We need to speak up for the ones that can’t.

 Calling yourself crazy and having someone diagnose you as crazy are two very serious and different things. It could affect the child forever. 
I have several cartoon ideas and I plan on drawing them all. 

WE ARE NOT CRAZY!   
WE DONT NEED the DRUGS! 
We just need MORE TLC.

Tomorrow is the BIG day!  Cannabis will be celebrated all over the world! What started as a time for a bunch of guys to meet to smoke some 'marijuana'  at 4:20 everyday , has turned into a world wide celebration! On April 20th - 4/20.. People all around the world unite and light up! AWESOME! 
At first I thought it was 'neat' but then to see it grow and share! People get together to share, hang out, talk, laugh, educate and stand up for something they believe in! 

Medicinal and recreational, the crimes against Humanity regarding this plant are shameful.  Every year it grows larger, parades, marches, sit -in's & MORE!  Think about it...  When else do they do this? Not enough times I'm afraid. We should have a world wide NO GMO day! Or  Celebrate the children day and stop abuse! 

I was asked to post a cartoon early at 7:00 p.m. my time - because it is April 20 on the other side of the world already! ;D  Yes, I will admit in my small mind,  I did not think of that at first!  How many realize the problems regarding cannabis are all around the world?  Some people even die because of it.  
I do! I have been educated! I plan on doing what ever I can to help educate others! 
If it is as simple as drawing a cartoon that will get some attention, create a curiosity...

April fool!
Too bad it is no joke..
This is not an original idea. 
I was inspired by an image I saw, and of course this is what came to mind.
It is how I feel. 

Apparently people even now, are still getting permission to grow. 
Is Health Canada lining up all it's ducks in a row for when they want to TAKE away licenses?  Are we all just sitting ducks?
How can this still be happening, when they claim the entire reason they will be removing is for criminal activity, yet more permits are issued... I know, I am NOT the only one confused. Health Canada is probably hoping we are all 'dazed and confused'. 
That is not happening. I see less confused and dazed every day, all around.
DO NOT become a sitting duck or An April FOOL! 
Pay attention, take notes and stand up for what you believe in.

Christians say “No” to cannabis?

Not all Christians are the same. This I understand and appreciate as it would be wrong to generalize based on religion. Christian scripture (aka The Bible) contains a lot of conflicting and sometimes scary information, much of which simply cannot be applied in today’s world. Yet I respect that one be allowed the freedom to practice their religion privately and not harm others in the application of their religion, even if there are aspects of it which I may not personally agree with.

The crunch comes through when political parties perch upon their religion as if makes them morally superior to others and then feel that their personal beliefs entitle them to make unfounded, ignorant and otherwise deliberately misleading statements to the public.  Statements that are severely at odds with their religion which they have based their political tenants on.  Sure, you cannot be expected to kill your neighbor because he or she worked on a Sunday or be entitled to sell your daughter. But what about a defining aspect of your religion, an aspect on which your very religion is named?

The sweet and short on the origination of the word “Christian” is that it means followers of the anointed one (aka The Messiah or Jesus). But as we all know, the devil is in the details. What do you think was a key ingredient of this holy anointment oil? I’ll give you three guesses. You probably only need one though.

Did you guess that the magic ingredient was cannabis? Then you are correct. So here we have a religion which is based on cannabis being a part of the many pivotal aspects of their Messiah’s good deeds. Throw in the aforementioned origination of the word Christian and we see how relevant cannabis was to the foundations of Christianity. Do I think that this means Christians should therefore by default support and promote the use of cannabis? No I do not. Just because Jesus also made booze out of water, does not mean that I would expect them to support the consumption and promotion of the stuff. .. even though they do by teaching kids about the holy relevance of wine.

A recent article of mine highlighted how absurd it was for the some groups to continue supporting the prohibition of cannabis, as it is becoming increasingly clear that cannabis prohibition does not work and creates more problems than it attempts to resolve. Unlike their views on the matter, I have long provided supporting objective studies regarding the need for an end to this failed and expensive social burden.  But what help is it playing study poker with an organisation that prides itself on putting its personal beliefs before facts and ignores the very foundations of these personal beliefs on its mission to have its bible buttered on both sides.

I only hope that this political party does not continue to reflect so negatively on its fellow Christians. Besides, judging by the longstanding religious violence that continues to plague our planet it would appear that smoking some grass is not as bad for your health as it is to be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc.

Yet people are afforded the freedom to subscribe to a religion without being considered criminals, even if it costs them their lives. A fundamental mistake in thinking that the cannabis legalization movement is about promoting cannabis use when it is in fact a movement that is against the persecution of responsible adult cannabis users and intends on ending the damage done by a law that’s harm far exceeds its intentions.

The discussion is being had one way or another, will others continue to make themselves completely irrelevant by spouting cherry picked and outdated news stories or will they face the facts and help in the discussion towards a legal, regulated and constructive South African cannabis industry? What would Jesus do?

I was mentioning to a friend recently how glad I am a ‘Head Shop’ for lack of a better word has opened in my town! YIPPIE! It is terrific!  I no longer have to drive to 30 mins or more for supplies - or even further Toronto! The shop is really nice, well stocked and the couple that owns it are equally friendly and always pleasant. It is NOT a XXX, sex shop, they don’t have porn (well there is that glass penis bong). Go check it out you might find it really interesting!

They have water pipes and smoking supplies, hats, incense - stuff - MUCH like a cigar shop in many towns. Only - Cannabis won’t hurt you like a cigar does. 
- Never mind that - hopefully you are AWARE of that fact by now. 

The store is always busy and I believe it is actually bringing business into our town.  It is the nicest store around, nicer than any I have seen in Newmarket. I welcome all new business to town! I have seen a few empty stores and THAT is NOT a good sign in any town.

That conversation started another... I said 
“I look forward to the day when we have a Compassion club/dispensary...”  

WHAT??!!    The look of shock on my friends face - this was another story - 

“A place where you can buy Cannabis?”  

“YES, Of course.”   I state.

Well - that she did not totally agree with... 
 “I’ll HAVE to have the drug talk then, I’ll be forced too...” 

"Excuse me? Your kid is 11! I’d say you better have that drug talk NOW!"
 "AND why, just because of a Cannabis dispensary- OUR medicine? Geeze!!"

I wanted to say - But that clinic for the heroine addicts that you walk past daily - that was not a cause for conversation? 
The fact that kid are more prone to first experience a drug from their own parents medicine/alcohol cabinet - that is no reason to have the DRUG talk?

NO wonder kids have problems! TALK to them. 
EXPLAIN what happens when people abuse Drugs. 
EDUCATE them so they can then make informed educated choices!

When we were little it was easier for parents to keep stuff from up, but with the internet and kids being what they are today - you can not afford to wait! I did remind my friend that now children all over are using Cannabis as a medicine! For cancer, autism, pain and more! Millions of adults all over the world use it recreationally and medicinally. 

Get over it. I was angry- again, someone does not ‘get it’. They won’t until it is their child or themselves.  I took a deep breath, remembered in my heart how grateful I am for Cannabis! This amazing healing plant! 

I moved past it. 
Your ignorance is not my problem. I thought to myself. *When I say ignorant, I do mean lack of education on the topic... nothing more.

AT 11 years old, if you think your kid does not know anything about drugs with all you see on television alone -you are wrong.
If you do not educate them their friends will. Friends that might not be raised, the way you choose to raise your child.

         NOTE: I don’t say LIE to them I say EDUCATE them.

*While discussing this toon, my hubby admitted to me -when he was a kid he sniffed model glue!  Glue! It was the classic - the older boy they hung around told them it was cool and safe. ;-(   Kowabunga!  Good thing it did not damage that smart brain of his.
PLEASE, talk to your children about all drugs. Good and bad and  about drug abuse

Watch, soon you will start to read about the miracle medicine that Cannabis is. Not the snake oil that we have been  led/lied to believe.   I know because I am paying attention - not just to Cannabis as a medicine. I am reading about HEMP & the unlimited benefits from people juicing to cement. 
Go to the Grocery store and right there beside the Broccoli your cannabis to juice or add to a salad!

I had someone ask me with the look of  'REALLY?' on her face when I was telling her how after surgery, I used the vaporizer and was never sick again.  I see the 'REALLY?' Look when I tell them how great Storm is doing, and now I see the 'really!!'  look from a few close friends that are in my company when I medicate and can see many times; my twitch come to an instant halt if only for a few moments, after hours of endless twitching.  So I get it! I see the look often enough. I love it.

I really is depressing when you realize the many benefits of Cannabis that people could have been using and embracing and being educated on for years if not fo the STUPID - Simple word for exactly what it is. Stupid laws, prohibiting the use and education of the plant Cannabis.   As for people thinking it's snake oil, well - there sure are many people all around the wold willing to defend it's medicinal benefits.

I had the pleasure on the weekend to draw for this lovely little lady ;-). I have been paying close attention ever since I read; Mykayla's mom decided to get her daughter a prescription for Cannabis  to help her daughter who is suffering from Leukemia.  I remember, I was pissed because someone said - "that didn't take her long" soon after learning her daughter had Leukemia .
                            Knowing what I know now, I would be in line the next hour.

I wrote about her before - when It started in the news people whould make - RUDE, un-educated comments regarding moms decision. But that is exactly what they are - and we must remember this, with decades of reefer madness pummeled into our brains. 
No one, especially another parent - who understands the circumstance would dare to differ. Either way I would RESPECT their choice. 
 
WHO is anyone to say what these parents should or should not do when it comes to the decision of their child? Most parents I know would die for their children (I  know I would) and we want to do what we believe is best for them. Cannabis for seriously ill children in my opinion should be the first CHOICE!  Especially, when we read kids are being prescribed OXY as young as 6.

It is about time that this is reaching main stream!  The more people that know the more can help. What this little girl must endure - Cannabis I pray, will help her and make this experience as pleasant as it can possibly can be. There are too many children who are already going through treatment that makes them terribly ill. 
Cannabis can make them feel normal. I know - and am amazed myself how it works for nausea! AND it makes them feel better!!!! There is nothing wrong with feeling good!

Pain - I see everyday living proof (thank God)  on how amazing cannabis is for pain. 
I see it to the point I sit here now defending a plant.  ;-) 
I am so proud of these parents and the many more that are starting to speak up and speak out! No one has the right to tell us how to care for our children or pump them with pills.
Dr.s,  DO NOT know everything - they are learning also - I remember being a kid at the Dr.s looking at his huge crystal ashtray on his desk full of butts!   That was then.... 
WE are all here to learn. No ONE is an exception.
