The Happy Hippie is se up in my home - a few touch ups and he is ready for the EXPO. I love this guy and so did the many people who had their photos taken with him last year. People can not resist becoming a bud! My own aunt and uncle were up on the weekend and they both had their photos taken with Buddy ;-) LOL Neither tired cannabis ever but are very supportive of our medicine. Photos are memories - I don't care if someone buys something or not - He is here to take a photo and hopefully make someone smile ;-) I heard about a car show my cousin was at - he has a beautiful classic - and The Fonz was there YOu know AAAAEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee! It's The Fonz! My cousins friend wanted a photo with the Fonz - I would too! BUT apparently it would cost him $20 bucks! FOR WHAT a PHOTO of the Fonz- who is not quite the FONZ anymore!? Man it is all about $$! I was so disappointed to hear that. Last year someone asked me ( they were staring at the display and smiling and I told them to take a picture-) How much? FREE OF COURSE! OMGosh! It makes my day to know someone wants a photo with my HH or this years Laughing Buddha! If I think that each time they look at this photo a little smile will sneak across their face - Well that is worth more than $20. bucks if you ask me. ;-) I don't care if they do not know who I am or about my son. I get such a smile watching them take the photos ;-) I took a few last year and e mailed to those who did not have a camera ;-) FREE of charge. So COME take your PHOTO- PLEASE! FREE! SMILES FREE!
Fonz- $20. for a photo? Tisk Tisk Tisk I still love you - but I wont pay $20 for a photo, now a kiss on the cheek.. an AAAAAAAAeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... perhaps.
I chanted when I painted him and thought happy thoughts and wished that everyone that he makes smile is blessed ;-) From me to them. GOOD VIBES on the way ;-)
We booked our hotel and of course because I left it so late - EVEN yesterday - I almost forgot again - so when I tried to get the same place as last year - it was booked, well we could have had a more expensive room with a cot! I think not.. after trying 4 places all booked for that weekend I was able to book us into the Delta Chelsea. Later Norm and I were talking and I was telling him it is a bit stressful the hotel $$$ but we tried to drive one year and if we did that I would not be able to give it my all for the EXPO (too tired) - Norm reminded me we stayed at the Delta Chelsea before. It was the worst hotel stay of my life. It was not the hotel. We stayed there when Storm was going through many tests just before his initial diagnoses Hospital during the day hotel at night - it had (has) a great kids camp that Storm did visit last time. I on the other hand would come back to the hotel and CRY. Every day at sick kids they gave us test results and bad news.. I never ate, never slept so I don't even really remember the stay. So it's booked and I thought FUCK IT! ;-)!!! The last time I stayed there we were told our son might not make it past 12! OUR son is 19! We are at a Cannabis EXPO spreading the word about his life saving medicine!! I will be reminded once again of what I am doing and WHY! We re going to enjoy every second of this trip! It's only $$$!! I will be up and in the pool at 6! LOL - Storm says he will believe it when he see's it! I can't wait we are so excited!!! READY OR NOT here we come! Us last year at our not as nice as this time hotel!:
Yep, it's reefer madness all over again. When "they" first tried to tell us cannabis was bad for us they would make statements like: Marijuana will make white women like black men! It will make you crazy and go on killing rampages! It will destroy your brain!! Some of the quotes past presidents have made are unbelievable, Ronald Regan actually said: "I now have absolute proof that smoking even one marijuana cigarette is equal in brain damage to being on Bikini Island during an H-bomb blast." Tell that to Obama, who inhaled frequently. The journey on Cannabis education for me opened my eyes to many things, some of which I would like to say I was happily ignorant and beautifully blissful; this is not the case anymore. So when I read NOW- Cannabis causes schizophrenia- I looked into it. This to me was the biggest joke to date. I wondered how they knew this and after reading time and time again - it appears it is NOT fact - far from it! It is a 'HUNCH' - a guess and a poor one at that. Well for any rational thinking human! Turns out that the ONLY way to PROVE - scientifically* that Cannabis causes Schizophrenia is to follow each person studied for over 20 years. ??? So I wondered- how the heck do they do that? THEY don't ! They follow up with them from time to time with a few questions - ARE you kidding me!? How can anyone make such a claim! It would be just as easy for me to claim about milk! REALLY! They also note (in the fine print most times) that there are other factors. SO the FACT is: NO they CANNOT prove Cannabis causes Schizophrenia- as a matter of FACT there is strong argument that young adolescence who DO have pre-existing schizophrenia often learn early that Cannabis actually helps them control their condition. Don't believe me - Research it! PLEASE! I did. Anyhow, I know there are many things, events, life lessons that have made me the person I am today - somewhat crazy - probably - but Cannabis was NOT one of them. *One little note to leave you with - Alcohol on the other hand is increasingly being tied (scientifically) with the rise of dementia in people. You sure don't see those headlines everyday!! more on the subject: Study: Administration Of Non-Psychotropic Cannabinoid Mitigates Psychotic Symptoms In SchizophrenicsMannheim, Germany: The administration of the non-psychotropic plant constituent cannabidiol (CBD) is associated with a significant reduction in psychotic symptoms in patients with schizophrenia, according to clinical trial data published in the journal Translational Psychiatry.
An international team of researchers from Germany and the United States performed a four week, double-blind, randomized clinical trial assessing the clinical relevance of cannabidiol versus amisulpride, a potent antipsychotic agent, in patients with acute schizophrenia.
Researchers reported that the administration of either substance was associated with significant clinical improvement, but they acknowledged, "[C]annabidiol displayed a markedly superior side-effect profile."
Amisulpride is categorized as "one of the most effective drugs currently in use for the treatment of schizophrenia."
Investigators concluded, "Our results provide evidence that the non-cannabimimetic constituent of marijuana, cannabidiol, exerts clinically relevant antipsychotic effects that are associated with marked tolerability and safety, when compared with current medications. ... The results ... potentially represent a completely new mechanism in the treatment of schizophrenia."
A review of CBD's safety profile in humans, published online in 2011 in the scientific journal Current Drug Safety, concluded that the cannabinoid is non-toxic, safe, and well tolerated in humans, even in high doses.
Separate investigations of CBD have documented the cannabinoid to possess a variety of therapeutic properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-epileptic, anti-cancer, and bone-stimulating properties.
It's May! No more April showers- well tell that to mother nature today! With May comes the knowledge of summer weather ahead! New buds and blooms and birds!! Yeah May! It ALSO means for us that the EXPO - is 24 days away! I say Us because it is a team - My husband is my sherpa ;-))) as is Storm, I could not do it without them. I also have a few friends helping me in my booth this year! I realize the Medical marijuana Expo is a one shot weekend to try to educate as many people as I can! I talk with parents and others who are not sure about Cannabis and want to find out more. I WISH - I had known about such an EXPO when we started- Oh well, when you learn things the hard way you have a tendency to not forget much ;-D Treating Yourself magazine has provided me with issues of the magazine featuring Storm's story and I plan of passing them out! I will have originals for sale - framed and unframed, bags, baby outfits (only a few), jewelry, painting and MORE!! * Today I am posting this NEW -It is a RE-draw- but HEY ! It's my own re draw so I can do that. I always loved this toon and sold the first (not as detailed) cartoon, but have decided to keep this one. It is SO true - Then and Now - Those who Believe ! Yet we still sit in this legal mess where people cannot medicate themselves with a plant and are forced to have chemicals stuffed down their throats whether they like it or NOT - IT is WRONG. So twitch or not - I will be there! I will be talking to who ever wants to know because I know how this medicine has changed & saved our lives! We are LIVING PROOF! All I ask is that you share! The more people that see the more people the seed has been planted in the mind. THIS is also the toon for my contest!!!! So Make sure you LIKE it on FB and share! YOu could win!! Details: http://www.georgiatoons.com/contest-on-now.html
risky |ˈriskē|adjective ( riskier , riskiest )full of the possibility of danger, failure, or loss: it was much too risky to try to disarm him. Last week I read twice 'Risky' was used when talking about legalizing Cannabis one was Obama and he said "The Risk factor is too high" and Gov. Cuomo - of New York said "until the Risk's out weight the benefits.." Makes me think they have so little to go on they even use each other speeches. Really?!!! Risky- what is risky! I take a bigger Risk every day of my life just by going out to check the mail! How can you say Cannabis is RISKY!? Risky that you might get high and feel better?? Cause that seems to be the most common side effect of Cannabis. Can you honestly tell me that Cannabis is Risker than owning a gun? How many kids over the years have found their parents guns and shot themselves (or someone else)- If a kid found Cannabis in his dad's drawer - he's not going to kill himself -Risky? Talking on your cell phone, thousands do this daily- while driving and die - even while walking - RISKY!!! Drinking too much alcohol? RISKY *for too many reasons - unwanted pregnancies, rape, alcohol poisoning, impaired driving - I am sure you can think of a few - hey even getting drunk and waking up possibly covered in permanent marker could prove riskier - especially when it's posted all over FB the next day!
Risky? Prescribed medications - kill people daily - Risky? THE fact IS CANNABIS has never killed anyone - so RISKY? PLEASE!
Risky - BULLSHIT! Demand them to define Risky. The tell them of all the TRULY Risky things in this life. As for it outweighing the benefits? - Thousands who are helped medicinally every day? A plant that can be grown in ones own yard? -Yep, something tells me that the 'Risky' part for them - if you grow it in your own back yard - it is very Risky that they will lose billions of dollars that pharmaceutical companies could be charging for Cannabis as a medicine. - I think soon Risks will suddenly disappear.. Cannabis Risky - Please. If this is the best you can do - TIME to LEGALIZE! In my opinion - it is getting very RISKY NOT to Legalize Cannabis... because WE the people are TIRED of being LIED to and sent to jail!

I have had another person contact me telling me how Cannabis has saved her life - I get a few quite often I have decided to share because it is different and one thing I have learned with all we have experienced this journey YOU CAN not always see pain! Think about your back hurting - can anyone see that - no - not unless you are hunched over. Here is Caroles story:I am 48, married 26 years to my best friend. We have 3 grown children, and 7 grandkids! 2 Dogs Snoops or wiener dog, Jeepers are Chiweenie, 2 cats Trapper John M.D. (Mouse Detective) and Itsie Bitsie! We love the outdoors, gardening, hiking, camping, and finally I can enjoy again! In 1998 I tore my articular cartilage; I had surgery to repair it. After surgery things still were not right, I started having problems. After a year of ongoing pain and problems I was sent to a specialist in Seattle. I told him about my leg feeling like it was burning constantly, that when anything touched my knee it would cause an increase in pain, clothing, sheets, air condition a breeze anything that touched my knee created more pain. I soon learned that other things triggered the pain, like a change in weather, stress, too much activity, too little activity, taking a shower created pain. I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. Because chronic pain is an invisible condition, it’s difficult for others to accept that something is wrong; after all you don’t look sick… I was on three different anti-depressants, one anti-anxiety medication, for the pain I took, 4 60mg. of Ms-Contin, 4 2mg. of Dilaudid, and 4 10mg. Vicodins, a day. I also have two spinal Cord Simulators (SCS) implanted, they have wires that are connected to certain nerves in my spine and sends out a electrical signal to help block the pain signal being sent to the brain, that also helps but still have pain. After years of being an advocate for chronic pain, I learned more about other treatments for chronic pain. One treatment that I was hearing about was Cannabis. At first I was like "o hell no, just a legal way to get high…." but so many people were using and it was helping! So I researched it. I then tried it I was shocked at how well it really did help. It does not take away all of the pain, but neither did the pain pills, neither do the SCS units! So I got my Washington State medical Cannabis License two years ago. During this time, I have gone off all anti-depressants and the anti-anxiety pills. And I now take one pain pill a day! I also lost 58 pounds! As I said it did not take away all of the pain, it helps me deal with “pain flares” and sleepless nights. The best part is I feel better! I use tincture, smoke, vap, and some mediables. This is what I hear all the time. The thing is I don't need to hear it because we have the best proof... Living proof. xox <><
I love reading about Israel and the homes for the aged.. most have vaporizers and encourage their patients to use cannabis! It is widely prescribed for numerous ailments! WHY - because so many old people are on so many different medications! Medications that interact with each other and often prove a deadly combination! WHY ? Why not just take one - one that is proven to help so many different symptoms. Sleep, appetite, nausea, pain and depression - just to name a few. ALL can be alleviated with Cannabis. The sad thing is with all of this, they have believe the LIES the past years and some are concerned about trying Cannabis, if they know the facts that will change. The facts - most prescribed drugs have a greater chance to hurt/kill you than Cannabis. I KNOW we HAVE to take certain medications to help us with different medical conditions- but I know several older friends that a I said take pills for the other stuff too - It's ll they know, it has been pushed on them for the past 40 years. Look at your parents medications- what are they taking? Could they perhaps have a little cookie in the evening to help them sleep or make them comfortable - rather than a harsh toxic chemical that will only cause them long term harm? I PRAY that soon these changes will come to Canada. Educate someone older today! Them they grow old gracefully and happily - they deserve it! xox<>< Tomorrow drawing lesson!! - Buzzed!! See you soon - stay tooned!
I have a few friends who drink and do not smoke, I have a couple of friends (RARE) that have never smoked and I have many friends that use cannabis medical and recreational. All is fine. I am not about to tell anyone what they can and can not do BUT - I AM more educated now on a few things. I read in my book - living Buddha, living Christ - if you have never tried apple juice that how can you describe it? IF you do not know what you are talking about 0r if you have not experienced something then really - what can you possibly have to say about it? ESPECIALLY with Cannabis. My Cannabis research brought me to Alcohol awareness. I've had that apple juice. LOL - Oh, I drank long before I smoked - so I guess in MY case - Alcohol was my stepping stone. So drink or smoke - BUT don't dare tell me smoking is bad for me when you hold that toxic cocktail in your hand. I am concerned now for many of my friends, I do notice that with age most of the drinkers appear to be slowing down naturally. Can't quite seem to do a hangover like we use to. I can tell you I am DONE. I shall drink no more. BUT perhaps my cartoons can save a few young adults from such a harsh education - or at least get them to think. I won't lecture my friends who do drink - unless they tell me how bad cannabis is. There is NO comparison. Cannabis is a MUCH safer alternative to Alcohol. FACT LIVING PROOF - Millions of us! So all we can do is spread the word, get more people aware of the lies and encourage them to find out for themselves. If they are curious they will look into it. Sadly we are so 'saturated' with alcohol in our WORLD - It will always be a problem It is another industry that makes $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ too much to just go away. So CHEERS! Think before you DRINK! *Last night I had a very bad brain attack. It had me considering waking up my hubby to take me to emerg. but the problem is they only last about 10 mins - PROBLEM!? Thank God - they only last that long. Every time I have one that is that bad - after I wonder - what is going on? What is this? Why don't they know what it is? Could it be from my past actions/habits? I guess there is no point to that so before I drifted off I promised, should God wake me today I was going to DRAW! Draw and spend some fun time with my son who is home today! Breakfast - walk the dogs .. Thank you for another day. Make a difference today - Plant the seed. Help end the insanity and suffering for many. xox <><
I re-drew this cartoon from one I did a while ago- I've been conflicted about posting a woman showing her boobies - even if it is a cartoon. Not all of us are bold about baring our boobies. ALTHOUGH legal in Canada. Cannabis illegal. I am sure boobies may have killed someone - people comment about suffocating all the time - you never know. Anyhow it made me giggle. I hope it makes others giggle too. What does it tell you ? Priorities? Clearly boobies are it. There is hope for the legalization of Cannabis yet! I got some great news yesterday : "Your card has gone a long way in not only impressing our judges but our consumers as well! We're excited to let you know your card has been one of top sellers and we are brining it back to our retail stores!" ** from Hallmark Cards. Very cool. Now perhaps I can find one and mail it to friend. I tried for weeks to find one to mail to my friend Ivan for his birthday - this year! I had someone just show up at my door with a baby kangaroo and my camera did not work - that's o.k. it was SO CUTE!!!!!! A friend is coming for lunch - not planned - LIFE is so wonderful - you never know what tomorrow will bring. You just have to make sure your here to welcome/see it. OPEN, heart, mind and sometimes door. xox <><
