Now that’s an edible! I draw for many people, a few bakers the past few years - so I have tried my share of baked goods. I am also in a situation where I have met many people who bake medibles. and I am even sent some in the mail and have to say there have been times where I do not eat or use the edibles that have been sent. I have even tossed several. Why? I have no clue about who made them or how they were made, they can taste a little “off” or I can taste the cannabis... and like everything else lately I try to know what I put in my body - including GMO’s so why should cannabis be any different? Unless I bake it in my own kitchen - I like to know what’s in it. ESPECIALLY with medicine. BUT I never know what to say to people. IF they ask. ”Did you like it”? I always give my honest opinion and it might not be great, but I do it in hopes that they can make themselves better, not to drag someone down. This is a competitive market like EVERY thing else so, step it up or move over. Here is what I CAN SAY... This is how you do it! IMO Below are photos of baked goods that we received recently. Each is CLEARLY marked ingredients, strength and even strain! WOW. I have had medibles from a few clubs and made such suggestions and then just watch.. some will and some won’t and those that don’t IMO will soon be out of business. Many patients do want some sort of clarity on what we are taking. We also want it to taste good! If a compassion club can't offer you an assortment - then look for another compassion club. I think sooner or alter they all have to set certain standards. IF you bake for a compassion club PLEASE TAKE it up a notch! This is clear and professional and I was happy to sample. I have mentioned this compassion club before because I know the quality of the baked good and yes I will say they are one of the best I have met. Why wouldn’t I - It is part of the confusion - anyway that I can help make it easier and eliminate any stress anyone is dealing with - been there done that! You will fin a brochure from them in my special EXPO bag and a few other clubs I like and have had the pleasure of dealing with. (more on the bags soon) If you currently use a club that does NOT present medibles like this - make the suggestion. Part of the problem is the sneakiness still associated with silly habits, food should be marked clearly for several reasons including allergies. Take the time.. add the detail of TLC - your patients will thank you for it. The compassion club that these baked goods are from: http://cannabisaccess.ca/ and I highly recommend them ;-) BTW according to Health Canada, Medibles are ILLEGAL. One of the safest ways to consume... what a joke. I can’t wait to see my friend Adam from Cannabis Access and many more people at the EXPO!! Got your ticket??? xox <><
Some will see this toon and think well.. not quite. Really? You tell me. Why not?
When I was little I remember my aunt Ceal, pointing out berries in my nanny’s back yard and saying don’t eat them they will make you sick. O.k. Got it. I didn’t eat them, I still don’t ;-) Problem solved.
Instead of telling children - "ohhh it will fry your brain, it is illegal, it is a crime, it will make you crazy." We make it a secret they get curious about. Secret + curious = kid ♥ TELL them the TRUTH. WHEN they are little : “It is a plant that can effect your mood and how you think, it makes some feel tired, some more energetic and creative; most importantly for many people all around the world it helps them with their pain. MENTALLY & Physically. It is not toxic but it does make some feel ‘sick’... and don't touch it because you are too young and it *may effect your brain".
*I say 'may' because no one seems to know for sure... but they sure like 'suggesting' it does. I tell kids if you can go though life not using any drug- then you are blessed! I know of many people that also say, Cannabis is what helped them cope as a kid.
I believe it. As parent? IS there anything wrong with that statement? It is the truth. I have always been upfront with Storm. IF they are old enough to ask - don't kid yourself they ARE old enough to understand. AT the same time teach them the most common house hold plants that can make them very sick! Also know this information for your animals! My cat Darkie, is always nibbling at my plants!! Here are the top few: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/13/9-deadly-house-plants-pho_n_575527.html#s90268&title=Daffodils So, why is Cannabis the problem that it is today?! Morning Glories get us high if we eat the seeds. But you don’t see people going around killing and robbing for morning glories!? THERE are far more deadly and seriously harmful drugs on this beautiful planet other than cannabis. Please do your own research, as to how it all started - Rich corporate greed, (does that shock anyone at this point?) - that’s how. BUT why now... still ? Because it is a HUGE cash COW. Look at the news, the T.V. shows and now the rush to make a 'medicine' based from cannabis. WE all ready have one though and there lies the real problem. KEEP it illegal so only a few may have the CONTROL. <SIMPLE Rich Corporate Greed once again...
A PLANT!! ? Who can argue if we just said ENOUGH! It is a plant, enough people have lost their lives, jobs, homes and families. It’s a plant get over it! Guess what .... It would be over!! Oh, there are a few that will grow and sell and make some serious money and it is something people will embrace and celebrate...
Some people will still be successful. That too, has nothing to do with Cannabis. It is about the individual. Individual choice.
I choose Cannabis for HERB garden & my kitchen & medicine cabinet. xox <><
"Where's the scale?" My son asked... “...skelator” as he loving calls me, reminding me I need to eat. ;-) I threw it out... I've stressed over that piece of *&^% for far too long in this life time! Before I was always on it, and all it did was go up! Every morning I’d get on ... weighing myself, worried about the size of ‘my ass & gutt’ both of which I hated for years. O.K., I will say looking back... I was too heavy. I was usually around 180 - 210, I’m 5’6”. I see photos of myself and think - OMG!? WAS I that big? I did not think I was that big, when I was there. Then, I was on it all the time lately with the opposite! Every morning stressing over weight I lost! WTF! LOL When I get to 115 I panic. I know I look too thin, I’m use to voluptuous.. I had curves. ;-) So I thought, forget this! I tossed it! “Chucked it!” (Thank you Candice, a post she made on FB, a while back). All kidding aside, I hate a bony ass! Poor Santa - I get it! ;-) I feel my bones when I sit on a hard surface. I miss my bum! The thing is I want to get healthy. So I am eating BETTER (JUST say NO to GMO!) and can’t seem to gain weight but I feel better! ;-)) So today I made Kale chips - I tell you I was thinking, I’m more addicted to these kale chips than cannabis! My friend Theresa introduced them to me. I don’t have a dehydrator so I make them in the over and it is a bit of work as I have to keep going and turning them. But it is worth it in IMO. I also have to say, I was sent a beautiful gift, more than the person realizes I bet. Honey. Medicated honey, from a friend I don’t take medibles from people I do not know. I have the best appetite with it! So does Storm! You know it’s not true! You don’t always get the munchies - I think that it’s a frame of mind. If you naturally always get the munchies that will only heighten it. I have eaten more in the past few day in a long time and I am craving all the good stuff ;-) Like Kale chips and nuts. Oh, I also made - homemade ‘almond joy’ today! I saw on PIN. NOM NOM NOM Click here for recipe: http://vanillakitchen.blogspot.ca/2009/04/coconut-truffles.html The Kale chip recipe, as from my friend Theresa also below. I do them in my oven at 150 and go down every hour and turn them when they start to crisp up I eat! LOL - They have trouble making it to a bowl! Really! TRY them!! Either way - Glad I chucked that metal menace! It ruled for far too long! I shall let my body be my guide and love me how I am. Every inch! I hope to get my bum back too.. well at least 1/2 of it’s former glory. LOL <>< xox
Smoking your medicine. If you were in sever chronic pain and needed fast relief would you take a pill and hope it starts acting FAST - 10 to 20 mins. OR if you could light a joint - have a few puffs and with in minutes your body would feel better? The choice to me is clear. Especially when I witness it every day - several times a day with our son. Just as we take any medicine we must rule out the benefit outweighing the side effects. Here is the thing - I am constantly reading how Cannabis smoke does NOT harm your luncg - IF anything - what is causing the harm is in fact the HEAT from the smoke. I am reading how Cannabis smoke seems to be helping cigarette smokers! TRUST me - I am such an anti -cigarette smoker (always have been) and I too have trouble wrapping my head around some of the facts myself! That is what they are facts. So yes! I would and DO smoke my medicine from time to time - I prefer - homemade edibles (these I have the most control with obviously, I made them) but when YOU need fast relief - the quickest way is to inhale. This is the best method for Storm and many more. So before you judge someone from smoking their medicine - Educate yourself! I bet you will be just as amazed! One of my favorite Docs. that does in fact address this topic is : http://marijuanamovie.org/full-documentary/Watch and then share with someone you love! You might be saving their life. Giving them a less toxic option to help them live the best life possible. xox <><
Old bottle of Cannabis EXTRACT medicine. Once Cannabis is introduced to you as a medicine and you can't believe that you can experience the extent of relief from a plant you can't help but step back and think - WOW! These past five years has been transforming. Especially in the kitchen!! I now use Sage for a mouth wash- I'm prone to cankers- well I USE to be! Now when I feel one starting - rinse with a sage tea and it's gone before it gets worse. Honey and cinnamon are a daily spoonful taken in the a.m. to assist with arthritis, I have rosemary, basil and more on my window and plan to keep them there all year long! Looking back I can't help but feel cheated - WE had it right a long time ago, we ate healthier not processed, we medicated FIRST with plants. We are always hearing about someone that is getting flesh eating disorder, some sort of stomach ailment, pain from pills- been there done that. I for one feel better -(twitch aside) than I have in years! I have a new book - medicine in the garden and I plan on using it FIRST before I put toxic chemicals into my system . I KNOW pills sometimes help but I no longer believe it should be my first choice but rather - my last resort. So, in the past when I might have said to a friend in need- "Not feeling well ? Want one of my pain pills?" WE all do it! We do not like to see those we love suffer. Instead now I will inform them on Cannabis - and try to help them seek other alternatives. I will never offer a friend a pain 'pill' again realizing now, I might just be offering them a future of addiction and other problems. From pill popper to plant pusher!!!! Which would you rather be?

Homemade popsicles! Could it be easier or better for you? My guys fly through popsicles - pretty much sugar and water so I recently went out and bought those popsicle makers we all had as kids only $2.00. I make fresh popsicles every morning , so far the base has mostly been WATERMELON! YUM! Watermelon and what ever other fruit I have on hand - in the blender - a bit of honey (the guys prefer them a little sweeter) and that is that! After diner we have refreshing, ALL natural and healthy popsicles. Well then it hit me .. hmmmmmmmm Someone provided me with a medicated sweetener that they make, I love it I use it in tea and have played a bit with it on other things, toast etc.. BUT the other day I decided to add the sweetener to the popsicles to make Storm some medicated treats! They turned out terrific * although I did use Kiwi and they were a little 'tart' . Below my step by step - although it is pretty easy - the recipe below I make green tea and Kiwi popsicles (I wanted them healthy). It is nice to have several options - I wish I had known this when he was little.. would have been much easier than forcing him to take that bubblegum flavored pain medicine - that he usually gagged up. Oh well- Now I know! Try watermelon and blue berries or strawberries! My sweetener came from a woman who said I could add her e mail address. She does supply to medical patients. kathyscannakreations@yahoo.ca A new way to medicate on a HOT day!
If everyone that smoked it admitted to it.. If you smoke cannabis recreationally or medicinally and don't take action to help promote legalization or even better Decriminalization they you don't deserve to smoke Cannabis. If you are not helping then you ARE hurting. Your worried what others will think, worried about losing your job, worried about losing your kids. FEAR is a powerful tool. All these thing we are all afraid of. If you believe are doing nothing wrong then why lie? WHY? Why are we afraid to stand up for a PLANT, that eases pain and brings comfort and relaxation and (HELL YES) some fun and laughter from time to time. IF Alcohol is legal then we should be demanding Cannabis be made legal for all to use. No deaths from it EVER. * YES I have to keep saying that - as it amazes me HOW many people I meet who just don't know that! How many deaths from Alcohol- you tell me. ARE we not HUMANS - children of God ? All deserving a happy life? We get one shot and I for one will not live my life in shame when I have nothing to be ashamed of. Not for smoking, eating, vaporizing Cannabis. There are so many more dangerous things that are all legal - owning a boa constrictor, bungee jumping, ordering puffer fish at a restaurant, bath salts are legal to buy (the kind that Mess you up and eat your dog bath salts) so WHY? IT's ludicrous! There are enough of us - all around the world. Many who do NOT use Cannabis but still admit & understand it's value and importance to medicine and LIFE in general. So just admit it and move on there are far worse crimes in this world. Perhaps you will educate someone in the process- I'm not saying go to your kids school and announce at show and tell - I am saying, enough ! Cannabis is a safer option than alcohol and if YOU do use it for medicine be LOUD and Proud! This is how change will happen.
* If you are a parent - YOUR children must always come first - If you burn and then burnout - you are not a good parent. Kids need positive examples. If you smoke and sit on the sofa all day - you ARE NOT a setting a GOOD example. EDUCATE your children and teaching by example is one of the best ways to help your children make the best choices for them when they are old enough to decide to try cannabis themselves. Time to WAKE up! Time to Stand UP!!! Before we are shut up... then, we will no one to blame but ourselves.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SMOKE your medicine. Many people think right away how can medicine be good for you that you smoke? Well for one there is all kinds of proof - facts - that smoking Cannabis is not harmful to you - like Tobacco. Check out a few of the Documentaries I've posted on my cannabis awareness page to educate yourself on that topic.. but you don't have to smoke it anyhow. You can vaporize (my son's preferred method) or use a bong (still smoking) or eat! OH my goodness can you eat it! I have tried so many different things made with Cannabis, I like to try because I can't believe it's Cannabis! I ask my son just for a nibble to taste and he usually shares, just a nibble. You would have no idea - my husband can confirm - as he has unknowingly tried cookies and 'tootsie' rolls. With 'Medibles' as they are called, you need to practice - start with little nibbles wait some time until you see how exactly it will affect you. BUT just to give you an idea we have tried cotton candy, bubble gum, cookies, candies, cinnamon toast, pasta sauce - IT is limitless! What ever you cook with butter for one - you can use Cannabutter. I see so many terrific recipes with all the magazines my strip is in. Thank Go odness that there are some wonderfully talented people out there baking up a storm! (no punn intended) I found this site today and NOM NOM NOM - can't wait to bake! Check out this one: http://www.yellowjuanacake.com/category/recipes/ The photos had me drooling and I must say - the photos, posts and directions professional, easy and appetizing! I plan on making the baked pears & gummies!! Thank you to the talented 'Cake' for sharing her gift with all of us. I can also tell you off the top of my head that we have tried edibles from the following and I do recommend: Amy http://www.amyanonymous.ca/other-stuff-i-make.htmlI've also tried some incredible edibles from : http://www.cannabisaccess.ca/And if you know where to find Moe's Medibles, in my opinion he is the Willie Wonka of chocolata and other goodies. Want to hear something funny - NOT- It is illegal to eat edibles. In my opiniohealthiest way I believe to medicate and the government says it is illegal as is oil, hash, kief.. all products of cannabis. WHY - because they don't want you growing it and BIG pharm does not want you eating it - they want you to have to buy their 'pills' . And you think I'm being dramatic when I say what's next? Basil beware! Lock up your lavender! Surrender your sage!! IT's just a plant people. xox <><
