I posted yesterday in my frustrations with all of this and said simply said Leona you say changes... and I say Fuck you." More or less. Some might think that harsh, even 'disrespectful'. You want to hear harsh? STILL to date I have asked people, and they are still giving out licenses for people to grow their own medicine! False hope. Setting them up for JAIL!  While working on the Cartoon regarding not being able to consumer products, and thinking how insane it was... I was told I better be careful about selling my Hempy Stalkers out of the country! REALLY! I have a couple that did not sell at the EXPO - I had enquires from many people, but several were from the USA and we were concerned about them being Cannabis stalks, as to wether they might get confiscated at the border. Since home I have had 3 e mail from people that want to purchase a Hempy Stalker - all are from out of the country. I have been seriously warned to be careful - me thinking come on .. are you fucking kidding me? My painted sticks? My favorite - and now, I have decided never to part with him (he was for sale at the EXPO - glad he did not go) I call him “Budda” Like Buddha ;) Every-time I look at him I smile, to the point I swear he has started to talk to me ;) Not all talking is done with words. I might make him a regular in the strip. I did a bit of research and I am concerned about mailing them across the border. So I guess I won’t be. Hempy Stalkers - Only in Canada you say? Pity...  I'll admit I thought you could get high licking the toad. I did a cartoon about it a while back & someone educated me on the facts. I am so glad he did because I find it really funny that you don't lick the toad you milk it. I have another toon already in the works.
What is a drug?
There will always be a drug. We can't ban, prohibit or kill off everything that is. To say Cannabis is one of the most dangerous, is just lies.
Just like I was told not to lick toads! Not that that was ever a concern of anyones. I was also told 'not to eat the little black berries- they would make me sick and die,' and I never did. I was told not to drink too much - but did time and time again. I am ALSO sure at some point, I was told that smoking marijuana was going to fry my brain. My brain feeling a little fried these days, the only thing that seems to help me is Cannabis! Thank God for small miracles.
It is a small miracle on this planet FULL OF PLANTS, that can make us feel better or poison us. I read in places where few plants grow - like Alaska - the people there would 'get high' by air deprivation, and spinning. Cannabis is safer.
Where there is a will there is a way.
Just like people creating bongs out of apples and pineapples.
Time to stop treating people like criminals, educate them. It is human nature/desire to alter the brain and mood, some will learn how to milk a toad - me... no.

I love to read always have - not always an easy task lately with my twitch being what it is it can make reading difficult even distracting - so whatever I read has to be interesting to keep me riding out twitches between paragraphs. This book is so interesting. Educating. The more I know the more confused I am. Since the beginning of time people want to get high, or achieve some sort of mental stimulation that heightens experiences or makes us feel at peace. Every time prohibition of some sort steps in - people move on, usually to a stronger substance and a new drug problem arises. What amazes me is Cannabis has always been one of the safest, oldest and most widely used substance on the planet and the fact that it is still illegal, IMO is just another distraction. Much like television. Focus on the plant that people want, grow and use most commonly: Government + control + prohibition(lies) = jail = $$$$$$$ To read the US government has taken out all kinds of patents on Cannabis - something they have claimed for years has no medicinal value, they have made millions suffer for it. LIES. Google Patent of Cannabis or just the number (for just one of the many patents now taken out BY the American Government on Cannabis. ONE NOW for the treatment of CANCER!!  If you give a man enough rope... he'll hang himself. Is this what Health Canada was hoping for? People have been providing medicine for themselves, with Health Canada's approval and now they have changed their mind and want to take that right away from the people.
For years, Canadians have invested time and money and educated themselves on the task. Not always an easy one, for some it is all they are physically able to do. Grow their medicine.
Growing for themselves keeps them safe, affordable and easily attainable.
For many it has become a passion. It keeps others feeling useful and not a drain to society to be able to provide for themselves or a family member. <3 Much like Grandma grows tomatoes in her garden and shares the good health with the rest of the family.
Think about it - You tell me the difference. Strictly on the plant level.
There is none.
All this will be gone. They will be forced to pay higher prices (according to HC), will have fewer options, some will turn to opiates because they will be able to get them easier. It is sad.
They will continue to grow what they need to survive, but now they will be afraid to do, what a few months ago was not only legal but encouraged by Health Canada. Will they go to jail? Will they lose their investments? Homes, kids, famalies. lives.
Who's government treats it sick this way?
I know too many people who are losing sleep, a few hope... some say they are at the end of their rope and the despair in their voice is obvious. It is a shameful thing to be doing to people over a PLANT.
If they could say it kills people/it hurts.. but they cannot - instead only proof on all it is doing to help those who need it. I'm too tired to start to name why.

I believe the woman will win in court. I HOPE. REALLY - Just for the smell of Cannabis!? It could easily be you. For a drug that has never killed anyone - unlike alcohol and prescription drugs. I first thought Legalize but it's not enough. Decriminalize - well I thought this was the way to go but it appears people are still being arrested in states where it is decriminalized. It appears many people feel like I do and just want it to be exactly what it is a plant. Some comments on a recent post: - Legalize, if we only decriminalize it the government will still try to control it and restrict our access as well as itll probably not even be the high grade medicine we are looking for considering everyones needs are different and not every strain works for another i have had some meds that just don't cut it at all and other times its perfect.- Neither, the ONLY and I stress ONLY way to end prohibition is to deschedule it off the controlled substance list and to repeal all of the laws surrounding this plant and get the DEA off our back and people out of jail. That's it. I know it isn't that simple but if we ALL pull together we can do this. And another thing I live in a decriminalized state. Funny thing is 1 person is arrested every 37 seconds here.-Should be as legal to grow as any other delicious herb the gov doesnt limit how many basil or garlic plants i can grow, or control their potency... Cannabis should be no different.-Oops forgot to reason. Marijuana never got its day in court. Instead an overweight white man testified that it made white girls want black men and that was considered evidence. Pot needs to be put back where it was, off the legal books, legalize not decriminalize, its not a crime.-Remove cannabis from the law books entirely. No laws, no controlled substance designation. Just a plant, simple and free. Just like anything else in a common backyard garden.-The worst possible side effect from marijuana use is a criminal recordAt one point Homosexuality was a crime and was decriminalized. No one being arrested since I believe. WHY? Because it is a crime against the person. Women breast feeding in public was a crime! IMAGINE - Feeding your baby - the most natural act in the world for a mother - makes me wonder who the idiots are that invented these laws in the first place and why are we being punished for their stupidity decades later. Judging someone and punishing them for using a plant as their medicine or recreationally - when no other person is being harmed is a crime against the person. Legalize! Decriminalize!
