After reading about the guy strip searched cause his little 4 year old drew a gun - it got me thinking. Columbia tried to sue Mike Peters (Mother Goose & Grimm) for a cartoon he did, we all heard about the cartoonist who drew a God as a dog. Burnt his home to the ground ;-( 
I draw about Cannabis all the time - an illegal drug.  I am sure at some point I might have someone say something to me. 
Actually a while back I did - something along the lines as 'using a comic strip to educate about Cannabis, something geared towards kids...'  Well it just happens to be a comic strip because that is what I do - was born to do, LOVE to do -  I found recently some images of cartoon characters smoking- not only were they smoking but they were promoting SMOKING! Intentionally!!        Yikes.             NOT o.k.  
We choose - actually, LOOK around- did you choose to have that giant alcohol/underwear/donut ad in front of you where you walk by everyday - no - we are bombarded with images that we did not choose. 
BUT what we choose to do about them is a different situation. 
I do NOT feel alcohol is a disease. A sickness yes. A disease you wake up with everyday - you have no control.  Some people are born with them. AN alcoholic chooses to lift that drink to his/her lips with each sip.  So - if after you read my cartoons you go and smoke a fattie - the choice was yours. But if you smoke a go do something stupid-  I'm having trouble even finishing this sentence - its the person people, NOT the POT!  Just like every person that drinks and drives and kills someone cannot go and sue the alcohol that got him that way .. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm   Or the prescription drug - when mixed with your other medication - stopped your heart - well you can TRY to sue. If your still alive.
We need to take responsibility of our own choices. We need to be making educated choices.
Recreationally, Cannabis is much safer that alcohol. 
Medicinally - Cannabis is much safer than many prescribed medications. 
So If I have changed your mind - over to Cannabis with a cartoon -I'm thrilled - it's a start in the educated direction.  If I have made you at least question your other choices - Yippie!! 
If you plan on suing me because you over ate a brownie or two and missed that job interview - IT'S the person NOT the pot! 

- People draw much worse, they draw about murder, crime, rape, torture- it's endless... we all do what we feel we have to.  It is art.  It is how someone expresses this life. 
Who is anyone to say it is wrong- if it is NOT physically harming anyone - it is an image. 
If you do not agree with it - make your own choice.  
It is as simple as - if it is a product - do not buy it.

I LOVE Canada  - I do not have the same love for our "leader" I use the term very loosely. I love our clean, friendly, laid back people, our BEAVER and polar bears,  moose & loons (-the bird and human kind). I am happy  with our Dr.s and with our health care -  most of the time. I am pleased that we do have the  MMAR program - bugs aside - Canada I believe is one of the world leaders in Cannabis medicine and research-     NO THANKS TO 'S.H'.   You know who I am talking about but use the initials any way you like ;-) 
Canada is the largest HEMP producer in the world and exporter.  Yeah Canada! 
I am proud of Rick Simpson. I have heard of course of Rick and his Cannabis oil off and on for years but have never had the chance to really look into it. Lucky for me a friend sent me the DVD just this week in the mail!  THANK YOU!!  I am so  Proud that this  stood up for what he believe and too tried to share it with the world - he tried to share it at least with Canada and they SHUT him down (ashamed).
 This story has more to it for me. My parents both have been legion members for as long as I can remember. My mom met my (step) dad 'Billy' at the legion.  My dad was a war vet - a respected one. Everyone loved my dad, he passed a few years back from dementia.  I,  you could say - grew up around the legion. My dad was very proud to be a legion member and told me "they are there for you - YOU as a person, as the daughter of a war vet and as a Canadian" - -so I must admit after watching the DVD how disappointed I was with the branch that turned it's back on Rick, fellow members and his cure. They should be ashamed of themselves - That is not the Royal Canadian Legion that I know.
 I do believe it is correct- research and you will see it's all about MONEY!! BIG pharm does not want you growing your medicine in your back yard. THINK ABOUT IT! There is not money to be made, there are Millions LOST when people  are curing themselves of cancer and so many other conditions with Cannabis.  COME to your own conclusions. RESEARCH.
I know several people who have had and have skin cancers removed. WHY on earth should they not have the option of using a natural cannabis plant to help cure the cancer on their body? IT would & SHOULD be MY first CHOICE before harmful chemicals.

IF you use Cannabis ADMIT IT!  Especially for medical reasons. If not, you are part of the problem enforcing the negative stigma attached to Cannabis.  Medically or recreationally - ADMIT it!  Do your research  - Alcohol or Cannabis - read the statistics. AS for the government trying to control cannabis for us.. think about this one thing : ***443,000 deaths annually -More deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined.1,2  ***-Alcohol abuse kills some 75,000 Americans each year and shortens the lives of these people by an average of 30 years, a U.S. government study suggested.
 ***If they really cared you think they would be banning Cigarettes. OR Alcohol . No - they make        $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 
And the government CAN NOT make money from a plant that anyone can grow in your own backyard! 
                                          IT IS that simple.

Simple to you, but to me and a few other mom's and dad I personally know now - IT IS OUR children's life saving medicine! That is surrounded by all this bullshit. No wonder I'm tired ;-( 
 I am tired, could be the head cold, life, stress, worry... Why am I worried about my son's medicine.. You tell me. What if it was your child? I wish I could personally ask that to Mr. Steven Harper or President Obama. Have them look me in the eye and give me an honest answer. 
One more thing...  Got an e mail this a.m. asking me to boycott "someone" .. I get angry when this happens.. BOYCOTT someone because they do not share the same opinion as yours? Boycott someone that is trying to educate the masses on Cannabis.. THIS madness will never end UNLESS WE ALL work together!Do not ask me to boycott someone, I am trying to look at the greater picture, not be involved with 'petty name calling' because really - that is all it is.. If you want to pick a side, PICK the side of legalizing Cannabis-HELP everyone.
 All the rest is a distraction.

Several months ago I asked people to share their stories on their pets and cannabis. All my dogs have consumed Cannabis at one time or another. They love it. Tequila will take it right off the table in any form, bud, cookie and she loves the vapor bag. I had several e mail  so many in fact I can draw a few cartoons ;-))) But this was one of my first.  I would also like to add that at the time when I brought my dog into the vet because she had consumed a cookie one of the assistants said "Dogs die from cannabis all the time."  Really - all the time? then why can't I find anything  about this?  DESPITE her saying this I have researched and asked and asked and to date I have not found one case of a pet dying because of cannabis.. So - just more reefer madness?  
I also know a few pet owners that have given their pets prescription drugs for anxiety? They of course come with a warning of overdose!  WTF? Or a pet is too hyper!? They walk the pet, play with the pet! Don't be popping pills into you pets! If it has an ind=fection or something and needs medicine that is a different story - but anxiety pills?   Cannabis was used in history for years as a veterinary medicine!  It is the obvious choice.  A HEALTHY herbal medicine. Below are actual facts *especially that cannabis kills cancerous brain cells and promotes new brain cell growth in rats and humans!! Don't believe me? RESEARCH IT!
Prove me wrong!  I am blessed to have two beautiful dogs. I lost 2 this year and the pain I can tell you still creeps up on me some days. My one girl Tequila is 16 and suffers from arthritis and is getting 'lumpy' so when she sneaks a little bit of Storms medicine or comes and stands near him when he vaporizes we.. Let it be! Watching her roll on the floor after and run and get her ball is more than the proof we need.  Scruffy on the other hand does not really seem to care for it so much - It's all about choice Scruffy!
