Some will see this toon and think
  well.. not quite.
Really? You tell me. Why not?

When I was little I remember my aunt Ceal, pointing out berries in my nanny’s back yard and saying don’t eat them they will make you sick.
O.k. Got it.  I didn’t eat them, I still don’t ;-)
Problem solved.

Instead of telling children - "ohhh it will fry your brain, it is illegal, it is a crime, it will make you crazy."  We make it a secret they get curious about.
Secret + curious = kid

TELL them the TRUTH. WHEN they are little :
“It is a plant that can effect your mood and how you think, it makes some feel tired, some more energetic and creative;  most importantly for many people all around the world it helps them with their pain.  MENTALLY & Physically.  It is not toxic but it does make some feel ‘sick’...  and don't touch it because you are too young and it *may effect your brain".

*I say  'may' because no one seems to know for sure...  but they sure like 'suggesting' it does.   I tell kids if you can go though life not using any drug- then you are blessed!
I  know of  many people that also say, Cannabis is what helped them cope as a kid.
I believe it.

As parent? IS there anything wrong with that statement?  It is the truth.
I have always been upfront with Storm.
IF they are old enough to ask - don't kid yourself they ARE old enough to understand.

AT the same time teach them the most common house hold plants that can make them very sick!  Also know this information for your animals! My cat Darkie, is always nibbling at my plants!!  Here are the top few:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/13/9-deadly-house-plants-pho_n_575527.html#s90268&title=Daffodils

So, why is Cannabis the problem that it is today?!
Morning Glories get us high if we eat the seeds. But you don’t see people going around killing and robbing for morning glories!? THERE are far more deadly and seriously harmful drugs on this beautiful planet other than cannabis.
Please do your own research, as to how it all started - Rich corporate greed, (does that shock anyone at this point?) - that’s how.
BUT why now... still ? Because it is a HUGE cash COW. Look at the news, the T.V. shows and now the rush to make a 'medicine' based from cannabis.
WE all ready have one though and there lies the real problem.
KEEP it illegal so only a few may have the CONTROL.   <SIMPLE
Rich Corporate Greed once again...

A PLANT!! ? Who can argue if we just said ENOUGH! It is a plant, enough people have lost their lives, jobs, homes and families. It’s a plant get over it!
Guess what .... It would be over!!  Oh, there are a few that will grow and sell and make some serious money and it is something people will embrace and celebrate...

Some people will still be successful. That too, has nothing to do with Cannabis.
It is about the individual.
Individual choice.

I choose Cannabis for HERB garden & my kitchen & medicine cabinet.

Nothing says lovin like somthin from the oven!

Never mind home made as in baked goods - there are limitless HOMEMADE gifts!

My husband makes furniture! I have many friend who recently gave me the gift of homemade meals!
Soups, Cookies and treats galore!
My favorite scarves are both homemade! One purchased - for me because it is so crafty looking and the other knitted with LOVE.

I often give homemade gifts! MY drawings! Each has love in it. You see I am one of those artists, I can NOT draw when I am not putting love into it. Not good at faking it! ;-)

I have a homemade Rosary - from a friend in California, a homemade wire scorpion, a homemade painted rocks, knitted hat, plant grown from seed, canna balm for my hands- homemade, I have a hand painted rock from a former nun- every time I look at it I remember her tales as a teacher, a painted cannabis leaf by another sister. I have a star with green stones - HOMEMADE with love by my son when he was 5.
I also make my own bath bombs as I like to know what is in them.
You have more control with HOMEMADE - everything.

HOME MADE with TLC!  I also really love Homemade  from recycled- my favorite coffee table was an old trunk I stripped and painted, threw on some legs.

 Home made.♥

When we make something at home we are putting love into it - usually it is something we LOVE - Like painting or being in the kitchen or beer! I’ve had many a home brew - and like everything else - some are beer from a closet brewery (literally) still smile when I think of Tim’s (Storm's friends) home brew.
I admire those who go to the limit of printing beautiful custom labels! The same can be said for wine! I have had some very impressive home made wine. O.k. I know it is no longer 'stomped' , but I come from watching Italians - do it the right way - in a barrel.
That was long ago.
SO YOU tell me - PLEASE!!! Why should Cannabis be any different? Well it is not - people who grow at home  grow with love - perhaps some with even more love as they are dealing with a living plant.  Growing their own HEALING medicine.
I talk to my plants - even those that do not provide me anything but visual beauty! ☺

WHY is it illegal to do this? To grow a plant?
Especially when we know the side effects of Alcohol compared to Cannabis.
Why?  I have no clue. Do you?

I already had this toon on my scanner - waiting. Good thing, Daisy and I both reached for the same ball yesterday - She with her mouth and me hand - my bad! Completely my stupidity. Anyhow - OUCH.  I have been advised to ice and stay medicated! Black and blue today.

I just read that Jenny McCarthy said she once had sex with a tree while on pills. Nope, can't say as I have ever heard anything even remotely close to that from anyone who smokes.  Tree ?
 AND Cannabis is Illegal! LOL
Well not for long! Still beaming at the recent legalization news in the USA.  It's time! You can't hide the truth for long and thanks to Jenny (who I must admit LOOKS fricken fantastic) for sharing her "drug experiences" and all those who continuously show us their alcohol induced stupidity comas (been there done that) The choice will become clearer with every puff.
A TREE??  I mean I love Tree's but that takes Tree Hugger to a whole new meaning - LOL - thanks to my FB friends  who also shared comments this a.m. - Gives wood a whole new meaning!  Barking! Will it take over planking! LOL - Oh the cartoon opportunities are endless!  Of course my idea came 'naturally' the moment I read it!

Parents! Ask yourself one thing? Would you rather have your kids with the munchies or barking up the wrong tree? LOL- OH I crack myself up! ;))

3 - THREE more sleeps! - Getting the ZEN DEN ready today .. ready to return for some serious R&R and I have my drawing paper by my bed side!

Want to read more about Jenny:

Old bottle of Cannabis EXTRACT medicine.
Once Cannabis is introduced to you as a medicine and you can't believe that you can experience the extent of relief from a plant you can't help but step back and think - WOW!
These past five years has been transforming. Especially in the kitchen!!  I now use Sage for a mouth wash- I'm prone to cankers- well I USE to be! Now when I feel one starting - rinse with a sage tea and it's gone before it gets worse. Honey and cinnamon are a daily  spoonful taken in the a.m. to assist with arthritis, I have rosemary, basil and more on my window and plan to keep them there all year long!
Looking back I can't help but feel cheated - WE had it right a long time ago, we ate healthier not processed, we medicated FIRST with plants.  We are always hearing about someone that is getting flesh eating disorder, some sort of stomach ailment, pain from pills- been there done that.  I for one feel    better -(twitch aside) than I have in years!
I have a new book - medicine in the garden and I plan on using it FIRST before I put  toxic chemicals into my system . I KNOW pills sometimes help but I no longer believe it should be my first choice but rather - my last resort.
So, in the past when I might have said to a friend in need- "Not feeling well ? Want one of my pain pills?"  WE all do it! We do not like to see those we love suffer.  Instead now I will inform them on Cannabis - and try to help them seek other alternatives. I will never offer a friend a pain 'pill' again  realizing now, I might just be offering them a future of addiction and other problems.
From pill popper to plant pusher!!!!  Which would you rather be?

What I am about to say might be harsh to some.. It is my opinion and I am entitled to it. It also comes from 4 years of meeting and watching and listening.  There are burners and burn outs. The burn outs are the same as drunks.  I have met many people now who smoke Cannabis, some are very hard working individuals who smoke and continue to work  are inspired, inspire and keep busy. Steve Jobs was a perfect example of someone who burned one often, and look at what he accomplished.  Then there are those who  smoke and sit on the sofa watching the tube, munching and  getting high all day.  They wonder why they struggle and don't make it anywhere.
IT is the PERSON not the pot!
My own son is one who burns one - but always keeps busy, I guess I am also.  If smoking cannabis turns you into a slug - DON'T smoke Cannabis. If drinking alcohol turns you into a drunk - don't drink. Who are you hurting ? Yourself.  If you cannot function - accomplish tasks - well  then you have no one to blame but yourself.  You chose to be a slug with every puff.  Life is all about control - SELF control. Our bodies,  our minds. We are responsible for what we do to them.   If you fail and don't accomplish much - how driven are you in the first place?  Don't get me wrong - yes there are times - not often, when I medicate and just need to go and sit and veg. relax. Especially to tame the twitch. Life is short, precious and for the LIVING! So decide will you burn one or be a burn out?

*I'd like to note that I am sent e mails from time to time with cartoon ideas. I usually like most of them but some - I just dont 'click' or understand the point the other person is trying to get across... but recently I have had contact form a gentleman who has some great ideas- I usually have to simplify  - in my own mind, but he gets me thinking and I like his ideas so from time to time you will see : Cultivating Compassion by Georgia & ______
in this case - it's J.D  of : http://www.hempology.org/
check out his site - he's a smart guy,  he is definitely  NOT a 'burn out'.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SMOKE your medicine.  Many people think right away how can medicine be good for you that you smoke?  Well for one there is all kinds of proof - facts - that smoking Cannabis is not harmful to you - like Tobacco. Check out a few of the Documentaries  I've posted on my cannabis awareness page to educate yourself on that topic..  but you don't have to smoke it anyhow. You can vaporize (my son's preferred method) or use a bong (still smoking) or eat!  OH my goodness can you eat it!   I have tried so many different things  made with Cannabis, I  like to try because I can't believe it's Cannabis!  I ask my son just for a nibble to taste and he usually shares, just a nibble.  You would have no idea - my husband can confirm - as he has unknowingly tried cookies and 'tootsie' rolls.   With 'Medibles' as they are called,  you need to practice - start with little nibbles wait some time until you see how exactly it will affect you.  BUT just to give you an idea we have tried cotton candy, bubble gum, cookies, candies, cinnamon toast, pasta sauce - IT is limitless! What ever you cook with butter for one - you can use Cannabutter. I see so many terrific recipes with all the magazines my strip is in.
Thank Goodness that there are some wonderfully talented people out there baking up a storm! (no punn intended) I found this site today and NOM NOM NOM - can't wait to bake!            Check out this one:  http://www.yellowjuanacake.com/category/recipes/
The photos had me drooling and I must say - the photos, posts and directions professional, easy and appetizing! I plan on making the baked pears & gummies!!   Thank you to the talented 'Cake' for sharing her gift with all of us.  I can also tell you off the top of my head that we have tried edibles from the following and I do recommend:
              Amy    http://www.amyanonymous.ca/other-stuff-i-make.html
I've also tried some incredible edibles from : http://www.cannabisaccess.ca/And if you know where to find Moe's Medibles, in my opinion he is the Willie Wonka of chocolata and other goodies.   Want to hear something funny - NOT-   It is illegal to eat edibles. In my opiniohealthiest way I believe to medicate and the government says it is illegal as is oil, hash, kief.. all products of cannabis. WHY - because they don't want you growing it and BIG pharm  does not want you eating it - they want you to have to buy their 'pills' .   And you think I'm being dramatic when I say what's next? Basil beware! Lock up your lavender! Surrender your sage!!  IT's just a plant people.  xox <><
