Cannabis is a plant, use in the past fro everything from Cholic to a tooth ache, and until someone decided it was a Dangerous DRUG it was a HERB.
Never mind any of that.., ALL of the substances on the left have been attributed to death. Sugar - again - a major factor in obesity, diabetes and more. Alcohol.. abuse, physical hard to a body, impairment, poisoning, responsible for date rape, murder and “ I was drunk...” and more.
SO PLEASE, stop telling me, I am wrong. Me and the other few hundred thousand (who admit to it) and counting that believe Cannabis is a better CHOICE. A Healthier choice.
ONE for using Cannabis as my medicine and also for all those that wish to use recreationally. Compare the choices and statistics.

 While working on the Cartoon regarding not being able to consumer products, and thinking how insane it was... I was told I better be careful about selling my Hempy Stalkers out of the country! REALLY! I have a couple that did not sell at the EXPO - I had enquires from many people, but several were from the USA and we were concerned about them being Cannabis stalks, as to wether they might get confiscated at the border. Since home I have had 3 e mail from people that want to purchase a Hempy Stalker - all are from out of the country. I have been seriously warned to be careful - me thinking come on .. are you fucking kidding me? My painted sticks? My favorite - and now, I have decided never to part with him (he was for sale at the EXPO - glad he did not go) I call him “Budda” Like Buddha ;) Every-time I look at him I smile, to the point I swear he has started to talk to me ;) Not all talking is done with words. I might make him a regular in the strip. I did a bit of research and I am concerned about mailing them across the border. So I guess I won’t be. Hempy Stalkers - Only in Canada you say? Pity... AS insane as it seems that I could be charged with trafficking for this painted Hempy Stalker stick!!? The media would be awesome! Perhaps if I was physically feeling a bit better I'd even be up to the challenge... - Let us not forget Mr. Marc Emery still in jail for selling seeds. Apparently people even now, are still getting permission to grow.
Is Health Canada lining up all it's ducks in a row for when they want to TAKE away licenses? Are we all just sitting ducks?
How can this still be happening, when they claim the entire reason they will be removing is for criminal activity, yet more permits are issued... I know, I am NOT the only one confused. Health Canada is probably hoping we are all 'dazed and confused'.
That is not happening. I see less confused and dazed every day, all around.
DO NOT become a sitting duck or An April FOOL!

The only criminal activity I see happening is on the part of Health Canada and the MMAR Program.
 I was mentioning to a friend recently how glad I am a ‘Head Shop’ for lack of a better word has opened in my town! YIPPIE! It is terrific! I no longer have to drive to 30 mins or more for supplies - or even further Toronto! The shop is really nice, well stocked and the couple that owns it are equally friendly and always pleasant. It is NOT a XXX, sex shop, they don’t have porn (well there is that glass penis bong). Go check it out you might find it really interesting!
They have water pipes and smoking supplies, hats, incense - stuff - MUCH like a cigar shop in many towns. Only - Cannabis won’t hurt you like a cigar does.
- Never mind that - hopefully you are AWARE of that fact by now.
The store is always busy and I believe it is actually bringing business into our town. It is the nicest store around, nicer than any I have seen in Newmarket. I welcome all new business to town! I have seen a few empty stores and THAT is NOT a good sign in any town.
That conversation started another... I said

WHAT??!! The look of shock on my friends face - this was another story -
“A place where you can buy Cannabis?”

Well - that she did not totally agree with...

"Excuse me? Your kid is 11! I’d say you better have that drug talk NOW!"
"AND why, just because of a Cannabis dispensary- OUR medicine? Geeze!!"
I wanted to say - But that clinic for the heroine addicts that you walk past daily - that was not a cause for conversation?
The fact that kid are more prone to first experience a drug from their own parents medicine/alcohol cabinet - that is no reason to have the DRUG talk?
NO wonder kids have problems! TALK to them.
EXPLAIN what happens when people abuse Drugs.
EDUCATE them so they can then make informed educated choices!
When we were little it was easier for parents to keep stuff from up, but with the internet and kids being what they are today - you can not afford to wait! I did remind my friend that now children all over are using Cannabis as a medicine! For cancer, autism, pain and more! Millions of adults all over the world use it recreationally and medicinally.
Get over it. I was angry- again, someone does not ‘get it’. They won’t until it is their child or themselves. I took a deep breath, remembered in my heart how grateful I am for Cannabis! This amazing healing plant!
I moved past it.
Your ignorance is not my problem. I thought to myself. *When I say ignorant, I do mean lack of education on the topic... nothing more.
AT 11 years old, if you think your kid does not know anything about drugs with all you see on television alone -you are wrong.
If you do not educate them their friends will. Friends that might not be raised, the way you choose to raise your child.
NOTE: I don’t say LIE to them I say EDUCATE them.
*While discussing this toon, my hubby admitted to me -when he was a kid he sniffed model glue! Glue! It was the classic - the older boy they hung around told them it was cool and safe. ;-( Kowabunga! Good thing it did not damage that smart brain of his.

 If you give a man enough rope... he'll hang himself. Is this what Health Canada was hoping for? People have been providing medicine for themselves, with Health Canada's approval and now they have changed their mind and want to take that right away from the people.
For years, Canadians have invested time and money and educated themselves on the task. Not always an easy one, for some it is all they are physically able to do. Grow their medicine.
Growing for themselves keeps them safe, affordable and easily attainable.
For many it has become a passion. It keeps others feeling useful and not a drain to society to be able to provide for themselves or a family member. <3 Much like Grandma grows tomatoes in her garden and shares the good health with the rest of the family.
Think about it - You tell me the difference. Strictly on the plant level.
There is none.
All this will be gone. They will be forced to pay higher prices (according to HC), will have fewer options, some will turn to opiates because they will be able to get them easier. It is sad.
They will continue to grow what they need to survive, but now they will be afraid to do, what a few months ago was not only legal but encouraged by Health Canada. Will they go to jail? Will they lose their investments? Homes, kids, famalies. lives.
Who's government treats it sick this way?
I know too many people who are losing sleep, a few hope... some say they are at the end of their rope and the despair in their voice is obvious. It is a shameful thing to be doing to people over a PLANT.
If they could say it kills people/it hurts.. but they cannot - instead only proof on all it is doing to help those who need it. I'm too tired to start to name why.
Please show your support on this issue.
One day it might be you who does not want to take an addictive pain killer for your back ... or you will want your child to use cannabis if they need too.

 I know today's hero personally. Asked to remain as "D" for fear of backlash from others in the industry. This is a shame, I completely understand it. I have witnessed it over and over again and it must stop. Who is this petty arguing hurting? It is hurting those who rely on their medicine the most. Suddenly about drama and $$$, not medicine. While those who rely on Cannabis just to function, have a hard enough time putting food on the table never mind medicine and th D is special and will go places. I am proud to call "D" friend and look forward to see the difference they will continue to make - I know it will be a positive one!
The Culture shift
It has occurred to a lot of people within the MJ medical community that there has been a culture shift, along time ago; sounding as if I am a grandpa sitting by the fire with some youngsters… This plant for centuries has been used as a medicine that was once legal and free. It was never a way to boost fame or fortune. It is a shame that we live in an age when people feel obligated or see it as a necessity to educate fellow members within the MJ community about how the plant isn’t a magnet of fame, or financial aid. We all need to stay banned together and remember that this medicine is a fight that we participate in for the sick people that need it the most. These people cannot fight for themselves and they quite frankly shouldn’t have to, so the next time you spend money to see the next pot crazed movie that showcases cannabis smokers as dimwitted slow plagues on society. Please re think about what you would like to support.
Some where along the way of social media we have lost our interest in educating the public about the respect & medical value this plant deserves. It’s an interesting age when there is so much positive change happening for this plant but we are still stuck in a rut. We could also argue any attention is good attention but if shed in the right light you will always turn more heads and make more believers if you stick with the educational facts, teach that this plant has healthy, life saving principles and you might not get as many followers and fans as your favorite medicated celeb but you will definitely leave more of a everlasting impression, that will carry on to our youngsters and hopefully we can generate a culture shift so we can remain back on track fighting for a medicine that has no write being condemned in the first place.

Not to mention limiting strains and options. People will have no choice but return to the more harmful - cheaper and easier to obtain prescribed pills/opiates.
Every time I read something about this It makes me angry, sad, disappointed and worried. Everyone that I have spoke with, be it someone who uses Cannabis or not, does NOT agrees with these changes.
It is taking a situation for many - were they are able to supply themselves with their own quality medicine and say - now stop and pay someone else for what you have been successfully doing on your own. ???????????????????????? How is this o.k.? Does this make sense to anyone?* Don't forget - people were told from Health Canada that they could in fact grow their own medicine. I know people who have invested THOUSANDS of dollars to properly set up and grow their own medicine. They have been producing it for years. One friend told me - he will continue to grow after they try to take away personal licenses, if he is arrested - he is prepared to fight. He is ill. He still works from home and has not had to apply for any gov. assistance. IF he loses his license he will NOT be albe to afford the SUGGESTED price increase! How can they do this? THEY can't if we don't let them.
Among its proposals, the MMPR suggests the price of medical marijuana should rise to $8.80 per gram. It currently ranges from $1.80 to $5 per gram.
WTF? HOW dare they 'suggest' anything, let alone a price for something many people have been able to provide for themselves for much less than the 'SUGGESTED' price! I am sure all other growers (especially the ILLEGAL ones) are thrilled at the price increase! Read a comment made by someone on Fb: When you think about it, all they're doing is shooting themselves in the foot.
A majority of people who have an exemption are also on disability because they're severely disabled or ill. If they choose to- on the tax payer's dime they have to pay to arrest these people, then pay for their lawyers with legal aid, while also paying court costs. Then should they become imprisoned, they must pay MORE to care for them with monthly transportation to doctors/hospitals, special diets and so on. Don't think because you're in jail you don't receive care anymore. In Canada, they pay to drive you to your doctor's appointments, MRIs, tests and so on while two guards making $30/hr have to baby sit you and drive you around since most prisons are not equipped with this. So really, the government wants to pay millions of more dollars, so a private company can make more money, and the 100 people abusing the MMAR out of 20,000 won't be able to anymore.
I'm so worried about people not having their medicine I never even started to think about that! What bothers me most right now is, why so many already sick and hurting are even having to think or deal with this BULL and added STRESS is beyond me. Oh Canada ;-( Focus your attention on crimes THAT HURT- Sex trafficking, child pornography, rape, murder... ALL this over a fucking plant. Take a LOOK around the wold!  The more I read about these 'proposed changes' the more grief I feel. I do not believe Health Canada has taken the best interest of the patients - the ones who this entire program was designed to help - to heart when they came to these conclusions. It is a crime against Canadians who need help, compassion and understanding. Lot's of drawing to do... xox Today I read about 2 men that will be executed for just over 7lbs of Cannabis. Two men will be put to death, poor, struggling to provide for families, not harming anyone physically - will be murdered over a plant. Read about it here.Who says Cannabis is not a serious issue?
