I hear it all the time, Ive watched it on a documentary recently - how we are all born with fight or flight and gut reactions. Babies are born with the sence to spit out anything that is bitter and like sweet things. Our bodies reject things, food - in my case a belly button piercing (2x's!) Think for one second - what happens when you drink too much alcohol - your body is telling you it has too much poison in it and we throw up! Alcohol poisoning.
YET Cannabis has the opposite effect - they give it to people who can not gain weight,  from personal experience - I would not say it gives me the munchies - but it does make what ever I am eating taste better so I can get it down. . It helps people from being sick. 
COMMON SENCE - Listen to your GUT! Never mind alcohol how about prescribed medications ! Read the label, almost everything can cause an upset stomach, bleedeing ulcers,  liver damage.... ALMOST every thing you take. 
DOES IT MAKE you feel better - truly? 
It should- that is the entire point is it not? My hubby would rather take a tylenol. O.K.  I can't force him - just as we should not be forced to use toxins over natural herbs. 
Listen to your gut!

I've reached my limit on FB 5000!  I have had very little time to friend anyone - most people have sent me a request  because they have seen my cartoons on someone's page.  That is pretty amazing!  In a year - it just kinda hit me and YES
 I have a HUGE SMILE ON my face!!!

I have also been blessed to hear from so many around the world who have shared some of the facts about Cannabis, easy to read - harder to digest when you get an e mail from someone who's family member is being put to death because of a plant!  Mostly,  I hear from people who use cannabis to ease their pain. Body and Mind.  I believe them - you now why? LIVING PROOF!  I shall take this as a wonderful sign to keep doing what I am doing.
It started with the love for my son - and always will be about that but it has grown into much more.

Profound moment for me this week past.
I am doing a lot of work with someone - a business that is on a much larger scale and will be  a huge success -I have no doubts and the person BELIEVES in what they are doing and it is for a amazing  cause as well.. * I've signed legal documents I can't talk about stuff until it hit's shelves. Anyhow, I was thinking 1000's will buy this s0 as we sat across from each other I said to her -" you know ( LOL) - I have quite a bit to do with Cannabis so I will understand if you don't want to mention me or promote my www on your stuff .."  Before I could finish she turned to me and said "I have read your website, I know what you are doing and why you are doing it and I am proud of what your doing and if anyone has issues with it - it would be their problem and no concern of mine"  
From someone I've known  3 month.
It was a light bulb moment in my mind and heart.

While researching Designer Drugs - I am flooded with toon ideas, SADLY in a way.  I had no idea it is  the problem that it is...  living in my Cannabis bubble. Thank God for this bubble.  I have never taken Designer Drugs/Ecstacy and hope not to - especially slipped into a drink like so many do to unsuspecting women.  
I know parents are busy - been there done that, stress, $$$, kids, life, 99%  so I know that we don't have time - heck we can not keep up with technology  of cell phones never mind designer drugs  and with little kids well, we figure they won't - 
HAVE you seen these F&^%*! Pills!?  Really- I had no idea!  The image below is of the pill Ecstasy.  Cute, colorful little dog, hearts, flowers, butterflies...
had someone yesterday walked up to me and said "want one?" and held out their hand I would have picked one up in a second and popped into my mouth! REALLY.  
They look like Candy. That is the IDEA.  They LOOK harmless.    
I pray this is being taught by D.A.R.E. instead of the lies they spread right now on the Medicinal Cannabis page -*Mama bears fur along the back is standing on end.

I thought maybe it was just me - so this afternoon I asked 20 people - all ages, educated some with teens, little ones and some with grown children.  IT's NOT just me I had 18 replies - NO they did not know that is what the pill Ecstacy looked like - had no idea and thought the same thing I did. HOW can you not ? -LOOK at them!
Even one that did was amazed at the wide range of colors.  From all that I am reading it is  a much more serious problem than Cannabis.  Yet - if most us found a baggie of weed we would know what it was.  Yet the one that is ruining lives, kills, is addictive, easily available, made daily in a home near you and is CUTE & CHEAP  we don't even know what it looks like?? 
 I had to draw this in hopes that one person - a parent that did not know now KNOWS!!!  Perhaps they will show their children. I pray that that toon never comes true but part of me thinks it might already have. I don't want to research that. Ecstasy is the most frequently mentioned drug in telephone calls to Poison Control Centers.In my search, sadly this was one of the first  headlines to appear : 9 Jan 2012 – A 22-year-old woman died from an apparent ecstasy overdose at a Vancouver house party early Sunday morning.  22  at a party for a good time. I wish she would have smoked  some cannabis instead   ;-(

So this started with the question Designer Drugs or Cannabis? You tell me.  
I would have picked the happy face or the cute squirrel...  

I have this cow skull - very special to me really,  many moons ago I wanted to have a 'Santa Fe' bedroom  and the ultimate detail would be a cow skull. We started to see if we could buy one and they were expensive! Norm said it was not in the budget ;-( Bummer..  He was telling a woman at work about our search and how expensive they were - my wifes driving me crazy... blah blah blah.. a few days later this woman brought in a cow skull to Norman!!
* NOTE  her husband was a butcher and it was still in tact.  Need I say more?   My neighbor - a police officer at the time was curious when I asked if she knew how to get skin off of bones. Leave it to Norm he figured it out and it was much work, boiled for days on the drive way in a huge rented pot then dried in a furnace at his work - LOL - he thought this was a good idea until people started to complain about a funky smell throughout the building! 
But when done we had a real cowskull. It' looked terrific and hung in the bedroom for years * The room turned out so well it was featured on a television show called City Line.  I thought of it the other day, Norm said it was out in the shed covered in dust and spiderwebs and asked him if he could sand, clean and put in my studio and here it is.
Painting is (even more than cartooning) something I do to bring me peace.  I decided this is what I was doing - the house work can wait.
While painting this wonderful skull I gave much thought to the cow that provided it, especially when painting around the bullet hole in the poppy. I use to eat  red meat 
not such a big fan anymore. I'm not sure if I stopped because of education or my body just telling me, but I really don't care for it as much.  I can not help but think when I see the teeth and the cavity where the brain was that this was in fact a living being  a while ago. I believe that from now on when I do eat meat I want to acknowledge that this creature did give its life for us. 
It once had a heart beat.  All provided by God. 
Now messed with by man ;-(  =  FOOD inc. 
But this skull is not about that for me it is  about painting life back into it starting at the base with a tiny seed. A Cannabis seed of course. I started to think about it a couple of days about but started painting it this a.m. at 6:30. Completed it at about 9:30p.m 
It amazes me how much I think about when painting and other times I simply find myself humming to the song and enjoying every single brush stroke.

Death by cannabis - no not ever. Never in History. So why is it illegal? 
Death by Alcohol - every day, all over the world.  So why is it legal?
Death by Prescribed medications - every day, all over the world...
What more proof does anyone need than that?  PRIORITIES. 
We need to get them right, and then remind those who WE elect and work for US 
to get it right. 
 Children and their welfare should be everyones FIRST priority. 
This morning my son said something about this bone disease to me. Between us.
I  can't lie it has had me crying off and on this a.m. because it is true.  
Makes me think... What do I say to that? What the fuck do I say to that? 
It also has had me get my priorities back in line. LIFE is short.
My child NEEDS Cannabis. My first priority.  
I BELIEVE as a mother that our  son has God given permission to have the rights as humans to use cannabis as his medicine before man made toxic and often fatal medicines.

Today was a wonderful family day, got in some drawing (this one) had much needed quality time - sleep in's (if you call 8 sleeping in). We get to talk as a family because were not so tired or distracted, my mom/ Storms grandma joined us for diner - it was in my opinion a nice relaxing day.
I drew several cannabis cartoons! I did not want to push my wrist so I made myself stop. 
I need a few days to get them out on paper. 
Family day  was especially nice with our 4 legged friends who are all  passed out in different corners of my room. The quote on the cartoon above I saw posted on my brothers wall quite a while ago, when I read it - it really struck me. How beautiful is that to say or think of someone? I hope I feel that way about everyone I think about. There are a few people in my life that do make me feel that way. Thank God. 
That is what we all need people who help us feel beautiful (inner) and at peace. When you think of them you get a smile across your face. Who does that for you? I am going to continue to surround myself with people who add to my garden.

There is nothing like a PUP!  Daisy is home recovering from being spayed this week. You would never know it to watch her and I am constantly telling her to "cool it" but I am so happy she seems like nothing even happened. 
 I only take drawing jobs that I know I will truly enjoy and early Jan. I was approached by someone who is putting out a training product.  If you now me you know I'm already a  Cesar fan and we have a pup so I thought great (even though I already know quite a bit -or so I thought).  I have LOVED this job.  The product NOT on shelves yet - so I can not disclose too much, I can tell you that it takes what I have learned with Cesar to a whole new level, many times I would think - Yeah, but Cesar knows that - his life is dog,  the average pet owner (unexperienced) does not know what to look for. I not only learned so much as a dog owner but as a cartoonist! Stuff that once I drew, read and understood my mind simply clicked "That is SOO TRUE!"  Storm and I have been talking about it quite a bit, I have drawn over 140+ pups for this project and he also notices the stuff to look for to train a happy  healthy pup. People are commenting all the time on how well Daisy behaves. SHE is only 5 months and still has work to do and her puppy energy - is just that! Puppy energy! Embrace it ;-)  It is fantastic! Very cool to own a well behaved dog ;-)) 
A bonus of the job was also getting to meet and friend the woman behind it all. I was convinced to draw for her for a few reasons, mostly her passion. She is in the field and is aware of the problems with people giving their dogs to shelters because of bad behavior. She sees all the dogs who need homes and are put to sleep because of people who do not take the time to train a pup properly. When people get pups - do they not THINK - this PUP *IF they are lucky - will be with them for possibly 15 years or more! Take the time to train early for a life time with a great companion.
When this program hits the shelves I will be promoting it - NOT because I drew it - (that's a bonus) BUT because I know it works and believe in it. I believe this program can save many canine lives and a few sofas! So stay tooned..   I am honored to be a part of such a good thing. 

 I have to say Scruffy is right on with the program! LOL - She wants to compete with Daisy.
Tequila is old and grumpy and still calls the shots - mostly from her basket! LOL 

The toon says it all.  I am so sick of reading about S.H (fill in the blanks) and his positive speeches about freedom, compassion. W the F is he trying to kid!? Not us Canadians.
It's not about him selling off our natural resources - well - I know that we ALL need to work together in this world and  help each other. BUT Steven Harper? That power hungry, jail building - AAAARRRGGGH!!  We'll be lucky to have our shirts by the time he is done! WHAT about us ? Do we NOT have any say in any of his decisions?? I fear not. 
What does he care, when done - he won't get in another 4 years - but he will be incredibly wealthy as will his family for generations - at what expense? OURS.
ONE thing OBAMA was right about  "Jackass".
As for all this talk about FREEDOM to China..  Perhaps he'll visit Tibet while he is there. 
Talk to them about Freedom.
He should take some time to talk to us regarding our many concerns but he's too busy playing ping pong.
